Heaven and Hell in one package

Advantages: Best price out there for a package for TV, Telephone and Broadband

Xbox 360, the whole package

Advantages: Easy to use, easy to get online, high quality graphics, wide spread of games
Disadvantages: High cost extras which should potentially be included

...of the wireless remotes, the controllers drain the life out of batteries and replacing them frequently is not a cheap task and so purchasing a rechargeable battery pack is advisable for each controller but retailing at around £30 each this is possibly the lesser of 2 evils. Despite these 2 gripes the Xbox 360 is a thoroughly enjoyable console to own and play on and the new layout makes the system easy to use for young, inexperienced gamers right up to hardened console enthusiasts, i highly reccomend purchasing the Xbox 360 but be prepared to spend slightly more after your initial purchase to really have the ultimate console package....

The friendliest 3D package

Advantages: Easy to use and user frindly
Disadvantages: Nothing springs to mind!

I started back in the halcyon days of my Amiga before I left school, and then got back into it for a while at University. Then was a bit of hiatus. About 5 or 6 years ago, I bough a PC magazine which had a free copy of Cinema 4D 6 on it, and since then I have been hooked & upgrading ever since. There are a few packages available on the market at the moment, but I have to say that C4D is by far my favourite. It has all to tools you would expect from a professional 3d package (although the names differ from one to another), and can match almost everything any other package can do, but the basics are so much easier to learn. The likes of 3D Max and Maya have a very steep learning curve, and can appear very daunting to...

...i have been using this package for a shortwhile and up till now it has met my criteria of money management. many tools ranging from bill payments to bank accounts. reminders of when bills are due is also available. portfolio management is an excellent feature even so it can be time-consuming at times entering dat even for a small portfolio but still good. you can even download advice and connect to organisations like the inland revenue at the click of a mouse. if you're after a software package that is more than basic but not that complicated then this is the one for you at a reasonable price. highly recommend....

Ulead VideoStudio 8 Complete Package

Advantages: Ease of use, SmartSound, improved audio and titling
Disadvantages: No background rendering, some new features a bit fiddly.

...and convert them to a different format in one hit. Nice to see is the support for MPEG4 (DIVX) and AC3 Dolby Digital audio as well as 16:9 footage. Note though that the first two options require plug-ins at additional cost (£13.78 each). Ulead have done their best to ensure you have as much at your disposal as possible when it comes to creating your video masterpieces. One things still sorely lacking though is background rendering. Until you prepare your final output either to tape or DVD/CD, no rendering is done. Pinnacle's Studio 9 does this in the background as you work and it's a great time saver when filters and effects have been used. Conclusion Whilst I felt some of the newer features could have been more intuitive in use, they all added to what was already an impressive package. Disadvantages: dosent have many image deformations etc

...Paint Shop Pro is a must for all designers/family users/experts. It is an exceptionally good graphics program with a good range of tools for a low price. Paint shop Pro lets you view a whole load of different graphics files and also lets you create your own graphics. the deformations are not all that good, but you can download plug-ins (add on files for the program) which give you a whole new range of image deformations and tools to play with, including lighting & 3D effects. Paint shop costs about £60, but you can download a free 30 day trial of the program if you want to try it out first.
