Packard Bell easynotes SW-51
Review of Packard Bell Easy Note by
andy_rea
Advantages: Large 17" glossy display, Numeric keypad
Disadvantages: No Serial or Parralell ports
...The Packard Bell easynote Laptop PC is a very nice looking machine with it's wide screen aspect 17 inch display giving room for a full sized keyboard with numeric keypad to the right hand side. the screen is of the glossy type and make using this machine a delight offing good contrast between light and dark area's in the display. It does not have a Floppy drive but these are not used much today anyway other lacking things are external ports, there is no serial or parralell ports although there are 4 hi-speed usb port 2 on the right rear and 2 on the right side, there is VGA output on the left and SVHS outputs on the rear, also a built in modem and Ethernet connection both at the left side of the machine. it has a DVD/cd writer and a large 'mouse pad' with easy to use left and right buttons as you would expect the mouse pad can also...

Packard Bell, Emachines or Compaq
Review of Currys (Shop) by
MARKH455
Advantages: Value for money
Disadvantages: Unclear
...programs. I would not recommend the Emachines for the first time user of PCs - (even though the price makes them the most attractive). Emachines are high spec machines for little ££!
(For people who haven't heard of Emachines - they are the 3rd or 4th (can't remember) largest PC company in America - so yes, they are reputable and reliable!)
In summary, Packard Bell, I would say, are the best value for money, and the most hassle-free. You simply take it home, plug it in (using the easy colour-coded plugs and sockets), and everything is there for you. No loading discs or anything like that.
Also remember, that Packard Bell are exclusive to Currys (and Dixons Group), and the PC Service call is therefore more knowledgable on Packard Bell than any other make.
All of Currys Machines, I noticed, come with backup discs also, which means that should...

EasyNote E6 - The students' choice
Review of Packard Bell Easy Note by
liam_coops
Advantages: Cost, Style, Upkeep
Disadvantages: None so far
...My Experiences…
The first and last laptop that I used was the Packard Bell EasyNote E6. My memories of this product are pleasant ones, never did I have abnormal technical problems or faults and it ran as smooth as a skate on ice. I had it for a year and I re-installed Windows XP professional only once due to a self induced predicament. Disregarding the system that runs on the E6 the laptop itself is technically stable and robust, though structurally I have experienced minor, hair-line fracture along the right hand hinge of the lid. However I put this down to a rather rough-and-tumble lifestyle with the military; any orthodox, residential use wouldn't do ANY harm, I'm sure.
Design…
The sleek, slender structure of the EasyNote E6 makes for a vastly ergonomic and attractive product. Its body is a mere 3.6cm (1.25inch) thick and slides...

Packard Bell - A Trouble Free PC
Review of Packard Bell Club 80 by
jonwhite
Advantages: reliable, good value, excellent support, good package
Disadvantages: None
...The Packard Bell Club80 PC represents good value for money. It was easy to set everything up and came with excellent instructions which will certainly help the first time buyer.
The package came complete with DVD Rom, 17" monitor, printer, scanner, digital camera and a host of useful software including Microsoft Word 2000, Windows 98 SE (on disc!), Norton Antivirus, Encarta99 and money 99 to name but a few. It made a pleasant change for a PC to come with worthwhile software and not a load of rubbish that gets left on the shelf.
The system also comes with an excellent restore disk enabling you to reinstall your system to the factory settings should disaster strike.
In all a powerful, reliable and easy to use system. A great overall package....

Easynote, Easy to use!!
Review of Packard Bell EasyNote R0205 by
LisaCaer
Advantages: Reliable, comes with Powercinema, Windows XP, Media Player
Disadvantages: Doesn't come with Microsoft Office but don't think the smaller models do
...Intro
My Packard Bell EasyNote Computer is my salvation, it's the place where I check my e-mail, check my accounts, download my music and I also take it into work with me and of course where I go to Ciao and read all the fab reviews that everyone writes and where I get to write my reviews. I love it!!
First of all a bit about the computer........
It comes with 512 MB Ram and Windows XP Home Edition. The Display screen is 15.4 inches. The Storage Hard Drive / Capacity is 60 GB and the Display (Projector) / Max Resolution is 1280 x 800.
How I came to buy this particular model.............
This is my first purchase of a laptop and as I don't profess to know a great deal about what to look for in a computer (even though I use one everyday in work) I was kind of at a loss of what to look for. I purchased mine at Currys as I found...

Packard Bell DVD-DIVX 350
Review of Packard Bell DVD-DIVX 350 by
jameswildi
Advantages: Great visual and audio quality
Disadvantages: None
...The packard Bell DVD-DIVX 350 bring create visual and audio qualities. The DVD Player - with MP3 Playback - without Real Dolby - without Show View - with Photo CD Playback - with DivX Playback. I know you may think why do I need all of this when all I want to do is play DVD when I can pick up a cheaper one from Tesco for under £10. Well these DVD players dont offer the same quality as the more expensive DVD players. This is if you want the high quality surround sound. The cheaper dvd player may not have as long as a life the the more expensive well known brands and you could experience juttering and freezing throughout the dvd. So this is why I reccomend the Packard Bell DVD player. It is very easy to use and have many functions. Even if you dont want them, I still reccomend this for the high quality of movie you get without having...

Easynote Review
Review of Packard Bell EasyNote R0205 by
moses88
Advantages: Simple Design, Cheap
Disadvantages: Constant Flaws & Poorly Constructed laptop
...I exchanged my Apple iBook G4 for a Packard Bell EasyNote R0205 (second hand), the EasyNote is 512MB Ram, 50Gb HDD, 15" Screen, Gigabite Wireless Card, Windows XP Professional installed.
I am generally quite happy with the laptop and use it nearly all the time, I have quit using my desktop which is very powerful compared to the easynote.
But even with my constant use I have found a few problems.
- Cheaply created laptop
- Old Model for Today
- The laptop mouse always has occasional problems
I wanted a laptop for everyday use, so something quite powerful but with all the flaws it does the trick.
My advice is that don't buy this laptop if you are a heavy downloader or play games or anything major of the sort, because the laptop won't be able to handle it. If you want to download and are very keen to buy this laptop, i'd try...

Excellent choice
Review of Packard Bell Easy Note by
Deenie
Advantages: Excellent price, problem-free, perfect design
Disadvantages: None
...shops and online retailers. They have quite a range of laptops and after looking at them and their specifications the Packard Bell Easy Note was definately the best choice. Even though it was not the most powerful in terms of speed it was the 'neatest' and best priced one! When you close it it is forms a slim sleek rectangle - unlike many of the others that were bubbly in shape and didn't close to produce a flush edge. It is a Pentium III 600 MHz or thereabouts with 64Mb RAM and lots of software already installed, and CDs also supplied. For those people who have never used a computer, or Windows, when you first turn it on you have the choice of going through a tutorial that will introduce you to Windows and how to use it. Perfect for dad! Also has a DVD drive for relaxation time...
PC World currently have this laptop on special offer...
