Advantages: Great layout, comfortable and easy to use. Disadvantages: Confusing marketing, crappy D-pad. (wires)
...Refinement:
The Xbox 360 wired controller is a refined version of the original Xbox controller S. Taking design hints from the Gamecube controller it was smaller and more ergonomic than the original black brick that was the original design, making it more appealing to a Japanese audience, the pad was so well received they brought it over to the US and Europe.
Looks:
The Xbox 360 wired controller is a stylish white with a grey band on the underside of the controller. The face buttons are green, red, yellow and blue matching that of the original Xbox design. There is a metallic Xbox button surrounded by a green glowing ring of light in the centre of the controller, which has four quadrants one of which lights up depending on your player number. The analogue sticks and D-pad are grey as is the cord. The pad will look fine just...
Advantages: Saves money over disposables Disadvantages: Bulky
...When I started breastfeeding I bought the Johnson & Johnson disposable pads. They were great, but at close to £3 for a 15 day (maximum) supply, were getting expensive. After doing some research on the net I discovered that washable pads were available. I bought a pack of 6 Avent pads at Boots for £4.99.
They are made of a soft material with a waterproof backing & have a lacy side which aswell as looking a bit more feminine serves the purpose of 'gripping' the inside of your bra to make them more secure. They come with a small net in which to wash them so that they don't get lost among your laundry (vital if you don't want one whizzing out your sleeve in public when you take your freshly washed cardigan etc off!). I've been breastfeeding for 3 months now & there's no telling how much money I've saved. Since they are not tapered...
Advantages: They contain spills and protect carpets Disadvantages: You shouldn't really need them if you follow the basic rules.
...Things have changed a great deal since I got my first puppy many years ago and it would seem, if you go round the shops, that the days of training puppies using newspaper spread everywhere are long gone. You can now buy 'Puppy Training Pads' to use instead.
So, with a brand new puppy due to arrive I bought myself a pack of 30 pads (price £9.99) so that we could try out the 'modern' way.
What are they?
Very simply they are sheets of absorbent material with a plastic backing sheet which are allegedly treated with something to make them attractive to the puppy when it wants to toilet. The idea is that you can train the puppy to use these and gradually get it used to going to a particular place.
You place the pad (plastic side down) on the floor and put the puppy on it and then it should use that area when it feels...
Advantages: Enviromentally friendly and cost effective! Disadvantages: They can be seen through your clothes if you wear tight tops.
...Advent Washable Breast Pads
I am very proud to have been able to breastfeed my gorgeous baby girl and have used lots of things to help me keep up the good work, these being one of them. When you are breastfeeding, you often find that your breasts become very full just prior to feeding time, and a certain amount of leakage can occur. I find that mornings and late evenings are particularly bad for this and so I use breast pads to stop the milk showing through my clothes. In the beginning, when Eva was tiny, I used disposable ones, but was pretty shocked at how quickly I went through them, and how fast I could fill and plastic bag full for the bin. The idea of filling our landfill sites with soggy breast pads did not fill me with glee, but rather horror, and so I looked out an alternative, and this is it!
The box of pads contains 6...
Advantages: Don't show under clothing, reusable, easy to clean Disadvantages: Difficult to put on, not very sticky, not very discreet to use in public
...I can't remember where I first heard about Lilypadz breast pads, but I can remember thinking they were an amazing invention and looking for reviews of them online. All of the reviews that I came across seemed to be American, presumably because this is an American product, and all raved about Lilypadz so eventually I caved in and bought a set of two online.
For those of you who haven't heard of them, Lilypadz are a type of reusable breast pad. Unlike the traditional breast pads, which are either disposable and based on paper or reusable and made from fabric, Lilypadz are made from silicone. They are promoted as being soft and flexible (despite being made out of plastic) and they are actually supposed to stick to your body, rather than to your bra. The blurb says that they apply gentle pressure to your nipple which stops them leaking...
Advantages: Very good quality cotton pads, excellent value for money Disadvantages: None really, unless you eally want to start comparing them to the very expensive ones.
...A couple of months ago, I was not a happy bunny.
The only store that did decent cotton pads at a reasonably low price had decided to increase their prices - double the usual amount and making them more expensive than its competitor.
They used to cost 99p for a pack of 100 pads, and when on promotion they would cost only £1.50 for two packs. Now they had gone up to £1.89 (!) per pack and were something like £2.89 for 2 packs - ?? I think many will know who I'm talking about...
These are a bit of a necessity for me, and Iwith no other accessible shops in the area that did cheaper pads with the same quality, I was very much pressured into buying these for about a month before I stumbled into Wilkinson's and found these at 60p a pack!
There are actually quite a few other shops who do cotton pads at quite a low price. I think...
Advantages: Shock absorbant, great design, very cheap Disadvantages: NA
...Im big into boxing, and i use so many pieces of equipment, but i will have to say that the Lonsdale Curved Hook and Jab Pads are a fantastic piece of kit and a defininate recommendation from me to anybody!!
With an old school look about them, they look fantastic and well designed. With a chocolate brown leather and white stitching, they are definately unique.
Most people tend to worry about risk of injury when boxing, but from my experience these pads are designed in a way to prevent this risk, with a thick shock absorbant foam padding inside, risk of injury to the hands and wrist are greatly reduced.
As from the name the pads are designed for all types of punches, giving you a wider range of training activities in one small product, and for a great price too!
I would definately have to recommend this product to anyone willing to...
Advantages: Wireless, dont have to get up to turn on/off console Disadvantages: Runs on battteries so you need a plug and charge kit really
...of a button on the controller and we have one of the best pads on the market.
It may not be as comfortable as the PS2 or PS3 pads in my opinion but it does fit very well into your hands and feels quite natural (if thats possible). The buttons are all in easy to access spots so you shouldn't have any problems using combinations of buttons, with the trigger buttons working very well in driving games with them being pressure sensitive.
The batteries dont last a massive amount of time but a plug and charge kit soon sorts that problem.
Overall one of the best controllers out there....
Advantages: Good design, not too expensive, simple installation. Disadvantages: Force feedback doesn't work properly, only average battery life.
...So, my old joypad was starting to get unreliable, i just couldn't kickflip on Tony Hawks like i wanted to. My Skyline GTR in Need For Speed Underground would suddenly drive into a wall. Time for a new joypad methinks!
Walking round PC world, I was simply looking to replace my old Thrustmaster with a similar pad, but it wasn't in stock at the time, and most pads on the shelf had about two buttons like an old NES controller, or cost far too much money. Then my eyes wondered over to this controller. Similar features to my old pad, slightly different button configuration but hey, you can't have everything.
The Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2 ( I never saw the first but never mind) is a robust little pad. I have pretty large hands, and all the controls just sit in the right place. It has an 8 way directional pad/pov hat, two analogut...
Advantages: Passable quality, quite soft, low price. Disadvantages: Little subtle bumpy bits in the cotton. Not really suitable for sensitive delicate skin.
...What are they?

Cosmetic Cotton Wool Pads by ASDA.
Special Features?
**************
Made from 100% cotton, claims to be soft and gentle, and ideal for delicate skin. There are 100 pads per pack, the pads do not have a stitched edging compared with ASDA's other cotton pads which are infused with Aloe Vera, and these pads are the same in texture on both sides and have a subtle striped texture to the pads.
What do I think of them?
*******************
These are quite soft to the touch but nothing out of the ordinary - they are very similar to the other brands that I have tried and I am afraid to say that these are slightly on the lower end of the spectrum in terms of quality. These are not bad, but let's just say, I have used better quality pads from ASDA and I would probably not buy these unless ASDA had...
