Paintballing!

Advantages: Wild, adrenaline-filled fun
Disadvantages: Does hurt and leaves you covered in bruises!

...I have literally just come home from my third experience of paintballing. The one I just went to was Tendring Paintballing Xtreme in Tendring, Essex. It was an early start, having to get there at 8:30 in the morning, and as soon as we got there, they took our names, a number to identify you and give you a pair of overalls. In this particular paintballing centre, the number you are given is basically a tab, so you can get whatever you want all day without worrying about money, and then pay at the end. This is easier as it saves faffing about having to get your wallet/purse out every time you need more paintballs or a drink, but as you don't actually count up cost until the end of the day, it's easy to forget how much you've spent, and comes as a big surprise at home time! Review of Paintball - General

Paintballing at Delta

Advantages: Great fun, you'll laugh about it for years.
Disadvantages: The pain, and lack of variety in playing fields.

Review of Delta Force Paintball

Delta Force Paintball in Maidenhead. Incredible!

Advantages: Amazing game zones, friendly marshals, high adrenaline fun
Disadvantages: Quite expensive, didn't last long enough!

...I went to a Delta Force paintball site in Maidenhead, near Reading, for my mates 18th a couple of weeks ago. His dad had booked us in online but after finding out that those VIP tickets are cheaper (and you get more free paintballs!) he cancelled the booking through the booking office and bought a couple of books of tickets. We turned up at around 9am and had to fill out a registration form. We were then issued our equipment. This consisted of a boiler suit (they were all very clean and came in a wide variety of sizes), a helmet, a "battlepack" (for holding extra paintballs) and a hopper for the guns. After getting ready and being assigned to a team we were given a safety briefing (the marshals were very passionate about safety throughout the day and were always more than happy to help). Then we marched off into the game zones...

Skirmish Paintball Review

The Location: The location near me is just on the outskirts of Warminster. Not extremely well advertised and slightly hard to find but word of mouth seems to be doing the trick. Paintballing

Advantages: A lot of fun
Disadvantages: small

...one person left on the defending team the then defending team wins. There are a few more games but those are the ones that I played and they are probably the best. When you run out of paints altogether you can buy more. The main ones to buy are 100 for £5, 1000 for £38 and 4000 for £138. There are more prices for different amounts you can buy, but these are the main ones that are most helpful. Everyone says that the paintballs hurt and you get bruises, well they are right. The amount of pain and bruises depend on two things 1(Where it hits you and 2) how close you are. When everyone said it hurt and it left bruises I was surprised to see the balls were really small. They were about 1.5 cm in diameter which I though wouldn't do anything but it did. The balls leave the guns at about 120 mph which is pretty fast. Shooting from...

Paintball Fun- Shoot Your Friends!

Advantages: Great fun, good for team buidling/stag/hen parties
Disadvantages: Can be expensive, paintballs hurt, can be dirty

...Delta Force operate one of the largest paintball theme parks outside the United States, establishing themselves in 1989. They have 20 paintballing sites all over the UK, with more sites planned. Delta Force state they have hosted paintballing events for royalty, and have entertained well known people such as: Shane Richie, Mark Owen, Jamie Theakston, Harry Hill, Hugh Laurie, Don Joly, Damon Hill, Ainsley Harriet, and the entire Chelsea Premiership Football Club. BBC1 and Channel 4 both selected their UK paintballing sites for filming TV shows in 2002. I spent a day recently paintballing at the Newcastle site near Cramlington. All the groups involved in the day were expected to be on site by 0915, where initially you fill out a form providing details, etc. I was pleasantly surprised to find several women taking part in the games...

Delta Force Paintball 100%

Advantages: Gr8 scenarios, FULL head protection and body armour!
Disadvantages: 20+ of their sites in the UK - wish there were 10 times as many.

...I played at Delta Force in Surrey last weekend and had an absolute blast. It was the third time I had been paintballing, and I won't go anywhere else but Delta Force in future. I had thought that all paintball sites were pretty much the same, but this just isn't the case. One word could be used to sum up Delta Force - Quality! The game zones were first rate: 1. Giant stone pyramid with tunnels and big (4m high zombie statues). I think it was called 'Mummy's Revenge'. 2. A MASSIVE two-storey fort which was awesome to play. 3. A zone with a real double-decker bus, a church, numerous other buildings and various military vehicles. 'London after the apocalypse'. 4. A realistic Vietnam Village. The game involved resucing a 'downed- American airman'. Cheesy maybe, but soooo much more fun than 'capturing th flag' which is all...

Fancy A Paintball Charging At You At 200mph?

Advantages: Enjoyment. Great for teamwork. Organised Layout of Day

It consists of loads of people running around the site in a particular game zone shooting people with a gun :D ~~EQUIPMENT~~ Standard. Tippman 98 - This is the paintball gun that is used in the game. It fires at approx 206 mph and can shoot out 7 paintballs per second if you shoot fast enough. The gun is quite large and heavy to carry around so i don't really recommend sprinting while holding one of these. Hopper - This is like a small plastic case that clips on to the top of your gun. Celtic Paintballs

Advantages: Good Price, Friendly Staff
Disadvantages: Not all balls are 100% round

...These paintballs are a very good for the price. You pay £30 for 2000 balls at most tournaments in the UK. The balls come in 2 different grades: Tournament Recreational and Site Balls The first grade, Tournament, is by far the most brittle. This is best to be used in markers like Autocockers which are light on balls. The next grade down is Recreational. This is supposed to be used for Rec Ball play but I think it can still be used in tournaments but with markers that are harder on balls, eg Angels. This ball is a bit harder. The hardest ball is the Site Grade. This is to be mainly used on Paintball sites but like the Rec Balls can be used in tournaments. Overall I think these paintballs are great value for money and are definatly worth using if you are a small or large team and would prefer to pay around £30 a box...

Go Go Go And Play Paintball

Advantages: The most fun you're ever going to have! (really)
Disadvantages: A bit pricey (not *that* bad though), some wimps claim it's sore but it's not really!

...Paintball is one of these sports, which lots of people would really love to try, but never actually get round to doing. Until two days ago, I too fell into that category, however Friday 7th September 2001 saw my first game of paintball, and I have to say that the excitement, adrenalin rushes, and general thrill of the games, made sure it certainly won’t be my last! First of all, to those who haven’t the foggiest idea what I am talking about here, paintball is a relatively new sport, originally from the USA so I believe. Basically, players are armed with “guns” which fire small pellets of paint, and protective equipment such as face mask, padding etc etc, and the game is spent running around a forest (usually it’s a forest, although different sites have different surroundings!) shooting at each other...
