Best Palm OS Handheld so far...
Review of Handspring Visor Prism by
SlimmyJimmy
Advantages: Great color. Great battery life. Expandable. New datebook and calculator
Disadvantages: Backlit screen won't show up in sunlight. Like any backlit device, fairly large size
...program, Minicalc, supports full color on this. I have spreadsheets with pale green and yellow seperating areas. I love it! By the way, I recommend Minicalc if you are looking for a good spreadsheet program.
Tip: It comes with a nice padded slip case but no belt loop! Whaaaaa. So I took my old case which is too small for the Prism, cut out the belt clip and used epoxy (JB weld is excellent) to glue it on my prism case. Works fine. Belt clips can work with pockets too, if you really want to show off your new computer :D
Tip: Move your cradle to the very edge of the desk and glue it with white glue. This wont harm the desk much and makes it easy to use your Prism without having the cradle slide back. The cradle is very lightweight.
Tip: don't overclock the Prism. Its fast and doesn't really need it. Overclocking is risky.
Note: Some old...

Best of Both Worlds
Review of Handspring Treo 600 by
madison4
Advantages: Stylish and user friendly
Disadvantages: Stubby Arial and no bluetooth facility
...at typing like my husband its great news. He has told me! When it comes to syncronisation once you have read the instructions and installed the software it is nice and easy.
The only part my husband is disappointed with is that there no bluetooth facility. You get in the package a hands free unit for the car, which does work okay but if your used to a bluetooth device around your ear it is obviously a bit different having to earpiece.
You can purchase a screen protector, which my husband highly recommends and easy to put on. You use the stylus constantly and this constant use could damage the screen. To buy a new screen is about £200 so it is well worth buying screem protectors, a pack of 5 for £14.45, to prevent this from happening. He has also recommended the case to put it in to protect the whole unit, which is £24.95. This comes with a clip...

Krusell Cabriolet LG Viewty Leather Case
Review of Krusell Leather Case for LG Viewty by
ecaps1
Advantages: Snug fit, quality made, comfortable to grip and good lens cover
Disadvantages: Makes the phone bulkier, some buttons may feel more awkward to press
...clips to be attached to the back. By default, this one comes with the standard "clip to belt" attachment, but personally I find this bulky and awkward so have removed the attachment and plan to just use the case on it's own.
Size wise, the case does add to the bulk of the handset. Without the case, the Viewty measures a neat little 15mm x 103mm x 55mm (approx), however with the case this increases to 25mm x 107mm x 60mm at its widest points. A good deal thicker, but personally it still feels comfortable to hold and protects against scratches whilst floating around in my bag. The one section it doesn't protect is the screen... but this would be awkward as it is a touch screen phone and so as long as you have a protective screen film (available with the Viewty itself, and replacements can be bought separately) you should be fine...

hey! good-lookin'
Review of LG MP Free MF-PD360 32 MB Metallic silver by
misterdave
Advantages: looks great, easy to use
Disadvantages: poor bass response through headphones
..., as well as battery level.
The equaliser is a bit of a gimmick, with only 3 settings: Live (more bass), Pop (more treble) and Normal. It's better than nothing though...
Power is supplied by a Ni-MH rechargeable battery (charger included) or by a single AA battery (which clips on the side of the unit in a separate case.
Sound quality is ok through the included in-ear type headphones, though bass response is not too good, unsurprisingly. With better headphones the sound is great.
Controlling the player is done via the remote, which has a clip so you can attach it to a pocket or belt, or by buttons on the side of the player itself.
The player comes with software for tranferring files between your PC and the card or cards (it takes 1 or 2 MMC cards, 1 32MB card provided) in the player. The transfer is over a USB cable (provided) and takes about 3...

RING MY BELL WITH EUROTEL
Review of Binatone EURO 4100 by
Deviant
Advantages: less expensive and does exactly what it says on the tin
Disadvantages: no answerphone, speakphone sound quality
...Having installed my new NTL cable TV and phone line, I needed a phone to utilise my new line. Trying an old answer phone, I found myself restricted by the cable being now used to the freedom of my mobile phone. Looking at a variety of phones and knowing from experience that analogue cordless just induced line interference I decided to opt for the digital cordless phone with its superior call clarity. With my budget of £60 max the Binatone Eurotel 4100 is the phone I finally opted for.
ASTHETICS
This phone comes in an attractive silver casing with blue keypad buttons and speaker cover, it also has tried to copy mobile phones by letting you change the colour of the belt clip rather than a facia. The belt clip change seems a pale comparison and really is of little significance as you rarely see the back of the phone.
One of the principle...

An expensive beauty with a short shelf life
Review of Handspring Visor Edge by
ponty
Advantages: Gorgeous looks and feel, lovely cradle, USB sync
Disadvantages: Non-upgradeable OS, nasty clip-on Springboard adapter
...The Edge is Handspring's most recent addition to it's Visor range. The machine is obviously built to compete with Palm's slimline Vx. I can't deny that it is a beautiful object, the slimmest PalmOS device currently available.
Handspring seem to have shot themselves in the foot here. Their unique selling point for the Visor range is it's expansion potential via the Springboard slot. Unfortunately, there's no space in the Edge for a slot, so you have to clip-on a Springboard adapter (provided), which spoils the sleek lines of the unit, making it look like the Hunchback of Notre Dame (should that be Notre Palm?).
Apart from the clip-on Springboard nastiness, the only other negative feature is the lack of a flashable ROM, meaning you're stuck with operating system provided (in this case 3.5). It does unfortunately suffer from OS 3...

Lowepro the best choice
Review of Lowepro Rezo 20 Soft case Camera by
oldwasp
Advantages: compact light
Disadvantages: None
...to be enough padding to prevent the camera from breaking.
Carrying & Fastening :~
The case comes with an adjustable shoulder strap. This can be removed as it has 2 clips that easily unclip from the back of the case.
It has a belt attachment which you can attach to your belt without removing it. The belt attachment has a Velcro flap and for added safety a press stud clips onto the flap to stop it from being easily pulled from the belt.
Camera compartment :~
The camera compartment is accessed by a zip which has 2 zip pulls with large toggles on them to help with opening.
The case opens very wide for easy access to the camera. But the camera will not fall out due to 2 expandable inserts on either side.
Storage compartment :~
A large flap at the front of the case fastened with Velcro pulls up to reveal an expandable but small compartment which has...

Neat design but let down by inadequate aerial
Review of Sony SRF-M32 by
johnalderton
Advantages: Compact size
Disadvantages: Too much interference
.... The volume control, surprisingly, is a primitive rotary switch on the top of the unit. There is a belt-clip on the back of the radio, useful for clipping the radio to a pocket or belt when in use.
At around £30 it can offer good stereo sound through the supplied in-ear headphones, provided the radio is positioned to gain the best advantage from the aerial (the headphone cable is used for this)
My problem with the unit is that there is almost constant interference on the FM band, when walking around using this radio, due to an inadequate aerial. I live in a populated area of Suffolk, and have no difficulty obtaining clear stereo sound at home or in the car but when walking into town there are areas where the radio simply doesn’t work at all - even on radio stations with strong signals. weaker signals, such as the local BBC station don...

If you're clumsy like me...
Review of Body glove mobile 'phone cases by
LouisaNott
Advantages: Small, good quality, waterproof, funky colours
Disadvantages: None really
...covers (obviously) the front of the 'phone can be peeled off when you make a call. These are peobably best seen rather than going by my description! The only thing I found mildy annoying about these is that you can't see the screen when the case is closed, and the velcro belt clip on the back was superfluous to me, and scagged the neoprene. But all round, it was a good case.
I was more adventurous when I bought the case for my 8210. I went blue, but I could have chosen red, yellow, purple, black or pink. This case is similar in style, although 100 times more funky than the previous one I had, as the screen cover is plastic see-through, and the belt clip is a clip, rather than a velcro loop.
As the neoprene "hugs" the 'phone, these cases are smaller than those leather ones you see everywhere, which is good. Also, it's easy to remove...

You be the DJ!
Review of Creative Zen Touch 20 GB by
lynh17
Advantages: Loads of room for tonnes of songs!!!!!!!!
Disadvantages: sometimes crashes, menu slider is too sensitive
...Overall Impression:
I bought this just over a year ago and I am still impressed and use it loads. Its great to take on walks, or to pop on in the car (I have an attachment to play it through the car speakers).
Looks:
The MP3 player is very stylish. the front of the player is made of a high quality white plastic, with a silver plastic border. The back of the player is a metalic grey metal. All of the buttons on it are a slightly lighter metallic grey colour.
The player comes with a stylish black case, made from leather look material, with elasticated sides, light grey stitching, a sturdy plastic belt clip on the back with the creative logo etched into it, and the creative logo on the front in silver writing.
Erganomics:
This MP3 player is approximately the same size as my purse, or my mobile phone. This is great as it means that I...
