Advantages: everything! cheap reliable, fantastic features
Disadvantages: no spare stylus or screen protectors in box

...I got my new Palm TX in August this year and I have been very impressed with its performance and flexibility. I previously owned a Palm Tungsten E which screen was 320 x 320 resolution and had no Bluetooth or Wi-fi, so these 2 features are great additions for me. For those who have never used a PDA they are all touch screen and most have handwriting recognition to save having a keyboard and in Palm handhelds this is called Graffiti and is very handy when writing as you can just write as you normally would. The Screen size of the TX is 320 x 460 so videos can be viewed in landscape and portrait modes, so effectively can be in widescreen. The video quality is very impressive and I would highly recommend in investing in a 2GB SD card for those long journeys. PALM is indeed TOP (heheh)

Advantages: Huuuuuge amounts of software for it
Disadvantages: Graffiti writing system is a bit slow

...THe palm III itself does not really amaze - it is a very good organiser etc., but the Graffiti system of writing is a bit slow - a keyboard would be better... But the stuff you can download for it is absolutely amazing ... just check out palmgear.com - 1000s upon 1000s of games, dictionaries, medicalness, sports tables, golfing assistants - EVERYTHING!! And, while you have to pay for a lot of it - there are loads of excellent app's that are FREE! - Fantastic. For this reason, i believe the Pilot is the best Palmtop you can get. Go out and get one now - quite cheap @ buy.com/jungle.com etc....

Palm Top of the pile

Advantages: Light, powerful, elegant, good battery life, lots of software available.
Disadvantages: Not a stand alone product

The Palm

Advantages: Great colour and comparative value for money. Rechargeable battery a big plus.
Disadvantages: Slightly bulkier than average PDA's

...The Palm IIIc handheld PDA is a great help for an experienced Palmer. First off, if you must have color this is a must have for you because the color is crisp and clear. If you would like a good audio, music, sound this is probably not for you because of the high peak of the volume, very low, would be too quiet to hear in a croud of people or any place where it is noisy. If you are a first user I would suggest the Palm X, Palm IIIe they are cheap and work great! I found the unit to have excellent contrast and display. Once you are used to colour - it is difficult to go back to monochromatic displays. This is the color version of the Palm 3 and looks better and clearer for it. Memory is not upgradable and 8mb is not a huge amount. I have 3mb left and starting to worry. Bad mistake but I will cope...

...This is a well thought-out device with a good touch sensitive screen and a surprisingly usable keyboard, even for people like me, with fat fingers. I have used Palm OS PDAs for many years so I have a lot of data and applications from previous devices that I want to maintain and I was keen to stay with the Palm OS operating system rather than switch to Windows at this stage. It was easy to move the Treo 680 from my Palm T5 without any loss of data. Now I only need to carry one device instead of a PDA and a phone. The stylus is a bit fiddly to use when compared to the chunky T5 one, but then the stylus is not needed as much given that the keyboard replaces the need for text entry with the stylus. 2 Years And Still More Money From Your PalmPilot

Advantages: Earns you money and can still be sold at a very high price!

The site which lets you do this is currently down, but you will need the internet plug-in for the Palm III.
