Palm Treo 680

Advantages: Small and well made, Palm OS
Disadvantages: a bit fiddly

...This is a well thought-out device with a good touch sensitive screen and a surprisingly usable keyboard, even for people like me, with fat fingers. I have used Palm OS PDAs for many years so I have a lot of data and applications from previous devices that I want to maintain and I was keen to stay with the Palm OS operating system rather than switch to Windows at this stage. It was easy to move the Treo 680 from my Palm T5 without any loss of data. Now I only need to carry one device instead of a PDA and a phone. The stylus is a bit fiddly to use when compared to the chunky T5 one, but then the stylus is not needed as much given that the keyboard replaces the need for text entry with the stylus. Review of Palm Treo 680

My review on PalmOne Treo 650

Advantages: Super Quality screen, easy2use keyboard, All in one device, bluetooth, infra, EDGE, lot palm based software.
Disadvantages: No Wi-Fi, low build in memory, so so battery life.

Palm Treo 750v - brilliant

Advantages: One machine to carry. Quick internet access. Easy to operate
Disadvantages: Lousy camera, ringtones

...surprising how quick you can get with this using your thumbs. You can also access a keyboard using your stylus, it doesn't however do hand writing recognition. After doing again some research on keyboards, I purchase last week a DELL blue tooth keyboard model no. XTBT01 for £40 including postage. This sounds expensive, but it has been worth it for the quality of the product. I touch type and with my palm pda had an infrared keyboard which I used particularly in meetings to type minutes. Sometimes I typed quicker than the keyboard and it was frustrating. The DELL keyboard is run through the blue tooth and is remarkably quick. The case is solid, robust metal. You can see the screen on the Treo either in portrait or landscape viewing. When I am using the above keyboard, you get really good vision using it on landscape... an option my pda did...

the Palm Treo 500 - a macintosh users perspective!

Advantages: keypad, email, bubble breaker
Disadvantages: battery life

...I chose the Palm Treo 500 for the fact that it has a full keypad for typing, in the style of the blackberry and iphone design rather than having to rely on predictive text etc for email, and although the buttons are naturally small, this aspect of the phone is still very appealing. Caps lock typing can be very awkward however... As a macintosh user, I wasn't sure about using a windows based product, but the functionality is very good and simple to use. Email - for a pop3/imap4 account, once set up works very well although it helps if you have experience of setting up email accounts as you need to know all the settings or where to get hold of them... Internet I find is perfectly functional but the screen size makes browsing frustrating! It is important with the Palm Treo and similar products to not expect too much from these facilities...

Review of Palm Treo 500

PALM TREO 750. GOOD LOOKER WITH USER PROBLEMS.

Advantages: IT DOES A JOB, GOOD LOOKING, SMALL.
Disadvantages: MANUFACTURERS ENGINEERING PROBLEMS

...lost that advantage although it is still possible to use it with the qwerty keypad that is good. Large fingers such as mine have a disadvantage but that is not a reason to moan. Another downside is that the battery life after a full charge is relatively short, you can find yourself with a flat battery after about 6 to 8 hours usage or less. I purchased a heavy duty battery specially to combat this problem. Now the Palm is too large to sit safely in its snug leather protective case. Oh dear! My biggest moan and findings of many who own one of these Palm Treo 750 are the same as I have stated and they have written to Palm regarding this matter of inactive, non-working touch-screen. No replies! Palm still make and do sell this model without having dealt with the very bad problem it has. There is no known cure as far as I can discern after...

Palm Treo 650 :)

Advantages: brilliant bright screen, palm os platform

...Back in June when Palm had the 'football game' competition on, I won my trusty little (well actually rather large) treo 650. I believe that the only reason I find it large is because I have had lighter, smaller sony ericsson phones beforehand. I wasn't too sure that I would enjoy the 'Treo experience' at first, but boy I was wrong. I love the phone to bits. I found out to my disgust that when my Treo 650 went badly wrong, Orange could no replace with another 650 nor could they upgrade me to a 680, as their agreement with Treo had ended. Sad. The phone itself Its not the most beautiful phone or the smallest phone on the market but as you can see it has a nice big, Bright, clear screen. ...The PalmOne Treo 650 is a very expensive phone / PDA. Fortunately the company I work for supplies this to me other wise I probably would not have given it a second glance. The Treo 650 looks a tidy aesthetically pleasing item, with a reasonable size screen showing 320 x 320 pixel resolution and is touch sensitive. The keyboard on the Treo 650 is a delight, it sits underneath the screen and has large sized buttons with a raised face to allow quick correct typing. The navigation button sits between the screen and the keyboard in the centre of the phone.
