...I bought the E2 about a year ago (2007). Since then I have greatly enjoyed using it. This Palm Pilot comes with Real Player, and all the other great programs that Palm always includes. It is very easy to install new programs from the internet and on the disc that is included in the package. It is very handy when managing one's daily life. I personally use it to manage my money, daily, monthly, and yearly activities, its great if you need to jot something down real quick, It stores all my phone contacts and eMails. Its also great for checking eMail on the go. You can download your eMails from you computer through the mail application or it you have a Bluetooth connection to your phone you can check via that. Tungsten E2, my first PDA

Advantages: A neat unit with lots of applications

...the recessed reset button on the rear of the Palm Tungsten. The screen is divided into two portions the upper part is the main visual part whilst the lower in for inserting you data by way of using the pen. This is made easier by the supply of a sticker which comprise of the methods used to write letters and numbers which will be easily translated by the unit. Palm Tungsten vs Ipaq, sayonara Ipaq

Advantages: small, fast, sexy, best palm ever

...I never thought I would make the case for a palm handheld from 3com. I used to be a dedicated Ipaq fan but got increasingly disappointed with it. So I decided to take a bold step and try out the new Palm Tungsten. In one word: AMAZING! I will compare, wherever possible the Tungsten with the Ipaq. Note that I am comparing the new Tungsten with my previously owned Ipaq 3850. For exact specifications of both PDA's I refer you to the www.palm.com and www.compaq.com Look and feel I always found the Ipaq sexy, but it is still a bit bulky. The Palm is not much lighter (6.2 oz vs 5.6 oz for the palm), but much smaller (length 4'' vs 5'' for the Ipaq). This is due to the fact that the bottom slides open to reveal the grafiti writing area. The garfite colored aluminium casing feels much more sturdy than the aluminium looking, though plastic...

Advantages: Very easy to use
Disadvantages: can't think of one.

...I have had my E2 for about a year and it is still going really well. Having had different types of memory electronic gadgets llike electronic diaries and such, this was exactly what I was waiting for. The PDA feels good in your hand, it feels ergonomically right, it has substance like a quality product. This may sound a strange description, but sometimes it is good to feel something that feels well built and strong, not flimsy and plasticy. I am the type of person who really can't be bothered reading instructions, I am sure there are lots of you out there that feel the same. It is so simple to use, even the most basic understanding of gadgets will have people very familiar with what this PDA can do within an hour. Navigation is easy, the different programs are easy to use. I work shifts and I managed to get a whole years worth...

Dont stick your Tungsten at me, I Palm you up!

Advantages: Slim, large screen, portable, sexy, like a super model turned into a PDA
Disadvantages: Battery life, ugly interface, sounds like a dying giraffe sometimes

...screen is so sensitive it's like we're running our fingers along it's armpit. Minus smell. Since there isn't a keyboard you need to write freehand with the stylus. But the graffiti (the method of writing) writing thing this Palm uses it so easy to pick up you'll learn it within 5 minutes of switching it on. It's basically the way we write but just slightly altered for those hard to reach places. But what is a device without it's flaws? This machine is by no means perfect, the single speaker on it if turned up too high will growl at you like a Chihuahua having an asthma attack. Keep it at moderate levels! Recommend you use a pair of earphones and plug it into the earphone jack for MUCH better quality sound. The interface you interact with is Palm OS 5.2.1 but man is it an ugly grey interface. Definately not going to win any Miss World awards...

The Perfectly Organised Device

Advantages: quick, easy to use, great applications, looks good

...The palm, the organiser, the device that doesn't let you forget. This pretty much sums up this brilliant organiser. the calender is superb with hand writing recognition for super fast input of events, scedules and even word, powerpoint and excel spreadsheets. What they have managed to do is place all the key features of a mobile office in and taken all the useless garbage out. Howwever I do think they took too much out. "TRULY" MOBILE (WELL ALMOST) But lets start with what is has and whats good. Firstly the appearence the home screen is easily navigateable with clear icons in a grid or list format that appear on the touch screen. these include, bluetooth irfra-red and versa mail. these enable for good tranfer of files between compatible computers and most phones. However don't expect much from the internet feature as this requires...

Cool kit but be careful of the common problems

Advantages: Versatality, VFM and free software availiable for Palm OS
Disadvantages: Known issues and glitches

...Personally I like my E2. It works well for the price but it isn't without it's faults....These are the main issues attached to it... -The power button on the top is very feeble and prone to breaking, it's best not to use it ( thankfully this can be worked around via a simple free program which allows one of the front buttons to be used to switch it off) -Video playback is typically poor and glitchy without proper conversion. This isn't an ipod touch, the videos need to be converted for the palm screen but when converted properly (try VemoDe, totally free palm video convertor) they play very well. -The on screen keyboard shortcut doesn't work after a while meaning you have to use the character recognition, which thankfully works quite well! But on the plus side, there are tonnes of free programs and games availiable for it...

Good for the Price

...I spent quite some time researching Palm's because my fiancé wanted one for Christmas. Whilst I may be a bit of a geek I had no experience of these at all. After a few weeks reading and talking to people it seemed that this Tungsten had what I needed, it had a nice clear screen, high resolution 16-bit (64k colour), but the cover was a little pointless, its quite light at 133g and it has 32mb of non volatile memory, which means that if the battery dies you do not lose anything. For protection I think it may be worth investing in a harder cover. I was a little annoyed that I had to either buy a "wireless adaptor card" so I could sync it with a wireless laptop, or buy a "laptop Bluetooth adaptor" so its own connectivity could work. Palm Tungsten T (2nd hand BUYERS BEWARE)

Advantages: Brilliant when new
Disadvantages: After two years use it begins to deteriorate

...the handheld this one time and Phew everything transferred back to the "T" and all was well, or so I thought. Yesterday, I turned on to find it all blank again! Hard reset again and nail biting hot sync later followed by the obligatory tap on the reset button gave me a bright screen with "Palm Powered" in the centre but nothing else and I couldn't even turn off the unit! I thought maybe it just needed more time to reset itself but three hours later it was still in the same state. It took three attempts at a Hard Reset to get it back to square one AGAIN! This time all the preloaded programmes have disappeared too, whether I can get them back using the CD provided I have yet to find out. In conclusion, a brilliant little PDA when brand new, but watch out for those first niggly signs of things going wrong after about 2 years and anybody...
