...Although this does not have wi-fi like the T5, and has a much smaller memory chip, it is still an excellent product. The memory problem is easy to get round by placing all large items like audio books and movies on cards instead of on the palm, and the wi-fi lack can supposedly be got round by using bluetooth for the internet, although I have not tried this. You have a choice of using the alpha numeric keyboard or writing directly on the the palm, both with the stylis, and both are very easy to use. This comes in very handy when you are out and about and need to write down something, for instance the details for an insurance claim of somebody who has backed into your car in a carpark. Advantages: Stylish, Durable, Easy to use.

Dont stick your Tungsten at me, I Palm you up!

Advantages: Slim, large screen, portable, sexy, like a super model turned into a PDA
Disadvantages: Battery life, ugly interface, sounds like a dying giraffe sometimes

...constantly it's 3 hours, that's very dissapointing since the Palm is not that fast. I am glad it's not a pacemaker. So flaws aside what can this piece of technology do? Well you can view your pictures with it, you can edit your Office Word/Excel/Powerpoint files on it, listen to MP3s, watch videos, take quick notes, organise your day, surf the internet (when it has internet access) and read ebooks with it. All this straight out of the box without purchasing extra software. There are also games on the device and emulators that let you play console games i.e. Gameboy Advance, so that's very tempting (you must own game to be legally allowed to play it on the Palm) but they will need downloading or purchasing. Palm Tungsten vs Ipaq, sayonara Ipaq

Advantages: small, fast, sexy, best palm ever

...I never thought I would make the case for a palm handheld from 3com. I used to be a dedicated Ipaq fan but got increasingly disappointed with it. So I decided to take a bold step and try out the new Palm Tungsten. In one word: AMAZING! I will compare, wherever possible the Tungsten with the Ipaq. Note that I am comparing the new Tungsten with my previously owned Ipaq 3850. For exact specifications of both PDA's I refer you to the www.palm.com and www.compaq.com Look and feel I always found the Ipaq sexy, but it is still a bit bulky. The Palm is not much lighter (6.2 oz vs 5.6 oz for the palm), but much smaller (length 4'' vs 5'' for the Ipaq). A powerhouse of a PDA with lots of features

A Disappointing Piece of Junk

...If ever a clearer case were ever needed to be made about the dangers of hyping up a mediocre product I'd love to see it. Meanwhile I'm going to do my best here. Having owned this PDA for over a year now I just seem to be collecting disappointments: the awfulness of this product only appears to get worse over time. Where to start? How about the good points? There's no credit due to Palm in saying that PDAs are still a fabulous idea. The ability to sync up data with a computer simply and speedily is truly marvellous. If one loses one's PDA one can simply buy another one and be back where you started without any loss of precious phone numbers, addresses and so on. All work no play

Advantages: Powerfull processor
Disadvantages: lack of features, big, complex interfaces

...Ok, where to start with this PDA... The processor may be powerfull and it may have lots of ram and memory but whats the use in having all of that if there is little to do with it all. I found, being new to the palm OS aswell, it to be clumsy and confusing. The 400mhz processor is quite impressive and i experienced no lag or slowness at all, so this is a good point. But i found it hard to do much. It took me 10 minutes to find the right set of options or settings to simply calibrate the screen. It does however come with some usefull programs for writing and spreadsheet based work, with an easy interface. But i found the keypad rather annoying and hard to read/understand in some cases. The general appearence of the palm was O.K. but it wasnt great. Its also not that easy to store in your pocket as it is so wide. The feature...
