...Having been stuck with a busted camcorder on the morning on an important family visit, I dashed to a major electrical store to source a replacement, stumbled across this camera, researched the others on display and chose the S26 for ease of use, merit for the make (I bought Lumix TZ5 and have been really pleased with it, quality, capabilities etc, great lens) and general feel for the camera. in my opinion, X70 zoom works very well, resolution excellent for an "older" user and their "junior" assistants. I think that Transfer speed is not rapid, but "so what" in a camera at this price point. Very happy to recommend for general everyday trouble free use. A little gem at the top of the affordable SD range.

Advantages: Amazing features that packs a punch.
Disadvantages: Cant hold a steady frame at a X70 Zoom level. Poor lowlight picture quality.

Let's start with the downside - the speakers are not sufficient for the product - they are very quiet and I have read reviews that the speakers can burst when you turn the volume up. however, as I like the style I have connected the tv up to surround sound, which enhances the viewing experience. It is a very light television and easy to carry around, no need for a wall bracket. This size is very useful as it can be easily kept in a small bag or coat pocket,and is robust enough to be carried around all day, so you never miss a shot. The 2.7 inch LCD screen is large enough to browse pictures and bright enough to easily compose images.There are some disadvantages to this small size as the camera does not have space for a viewfinder, which can be difficult in very bright conditions, but actually does not really bother me.
