Talk a lot? Think - Panasonic KX-TG 8222

Advantages: Stylish, feel good and great functionality.
Disadvantages: Very susceptible to finger prints!!

...The Panasonic KX-TG 8222 is a brilliant home phone and no mistaking; I do most of my communicating by telephone via my mobile and even then only when I have to. I am not one of those people who pick up a phone and chat endlessly to someone because I have nothing better to do but when I do need to use a phone I like it to feel comfortable to hold and not to crackle in my ear, those were my only real lookouts for a phone but I didn`t realise how bad our old house phones really were until we bought these. Panasonic KX-TG7123E with answering machine

Advantages: 3 handsets, hands-free, illuminated screen
Disadvantages: Basic ringtones; no volume adjustment on base station.

The main base station plugs into the telephone line, with a mains adaptor into the mains socket, and the other 2 charger units plug into any other 2 mains sockets. I upgraded to this model from a 2-handset BT model, as the battery life had deteriorated badly. A Horrible Fax Machine!

...I warn my readers that this could be a raging review since I just threw this fax machine into the bin. Not only it costed me more than £30 two years ago but for the little times I've needed it it hardly worked properly. After much searching I decided upon the Panasonic KX-TG 8220. It had everything I wanted and more to boot, the only downside was the price. We bought the 3 handset pack for £109.99 from Argos. Model Names Here is a brief explanation of the Panasonic model naming system. The KX-TG8220E refers to the model that consists of the answer phone base unit and one handset. I bought the KX-TG8223EW, the 3 meaning it comes with 3 handsets and the W at the end meaning the colour of the model is white. The model is also available in black and these model numbers will have a B at the end instead of the W. A twin pack will be 8222 and a quad pack will be 8224. They are all the same model but...

...Have been using one of these as my main home landline phone for quite a few months now. I bought it for about £150 from Argos. You can control just about everything from the handset, including full access to the answering machine. The menu system is driven by scrolling a four-way rocker key up and down to choose menu items; right to go into sub-menus or to confirm input and left to go back a level. Sometimes you have to press other keys to confirm input which can be a bit confusing at first, but is ok once you get used to it. You get three lines on the display. Setting base station functions (other than phonebook entries) from the handset normally means referring to the manual as they?re driven by keying in sequences of numbers. The manual is very well written though, with step by step illustrated examples of all functions...

...This set of DECT handsets is a great buy if you can get it at a good price. I got mine in Tesco of all places for only £44. You get 2 handsets in the pack. The main base station plugs into your telephone line, and also mains adaptor into your mains supply, and the second charger unit only needs another mains supply. This is my second Panasonic DECT hanset, and I upgraded to this model as it has an illuminated display which is handy if someone calls in the middle of the night, or you need to make a call in the dark! You can transfer calls between handsets, and make free internal intercom calls. Both handsets have a large alpha-numeric phone directory with good functions like save last number direct to phone book, and copy names and numbers from one handset to the other. ...eFax.com is definately the best free fax to e-mail service around today. I presently have two free fax numbers with them. One is a USA fax number and one is a UK fax number. Since I do business with some companies in the States it works out cheaper for them to send me faxes on a local USA fax number. They are incredibly fast. Just to test it out I sent a fax to my own number and checked my e-mail after just 30 seconds and presto it was in my Inbox. It's really easy to download the viewer from their site. Another plus point is that you can send this fax as an e-mail to others or save as a file just at the click of a button.
