Head and shoulders above the rest
Review of Panasonic SC-HT 520 by
JamesLee89
Advantages: Stunning design, impressive sound and visual quality
Disadvantages: Lack of connections, could be louder
...I picked up this cinema system for £130 and it was my best investment in 2006.
Having had the predecessor (HT500), I was very aware of how good the quality of Panasonic's products were. Having said that, the previous unit suffered from strange sound configurations, whereby vocals in movies and particularly CD's were being drowned out by background music, a problem which was generally very difficult to fix, unless the 'surround sound' function was turned off.
This was NOT a problem with the 520. From opening the box, it was evident that Panasonic constucted the system from quality materials. The speakers and system felt heavy, and seemed unlikely to be shaken off a shelf (from the bass!).
The system was relatively simple to install, with a good half hour needed to install the speaker wires. Once switched on, the Panasonic was very...

A solid system for all-round use
Review of Panasonic SC-HT 990 by
pjr218
Advantages: Brilliant picture and sound on DVD/CD, ease of use, looks
Disadvantages: TV sound
...I bought this system from Currys about 18 months ago for just under £300.
Picture - the picture quality on the system in superb, i run mine into a JVC 20" widescreen LCD TV through an S-Video cable (not supplied) and the sharpness and colour from DVD's is excellent.
Sound - For DVD playback, this system is excellent, working brilliantly with the sound turned down or with it cranked right up. The clarity is great and the surround sound works well. For CD's, the system is as good as my Sony CD player. With no USB port, you can't directly plug in your MP3 player, but i connect mine through a 3.5mm phono to jack plug adaptor from the headphone socket, and the sound through this auxillairy channel is superb. I use the same method for sound from TV through the player but this does not work as well, for films it is ok, but normal TV...

Review of Panasonic - Panasonic Home Theatre Sound System by
jasonevered
Advantages: Amazing sound, 5 Disc multi play
Disadvantages: price, plastic flap on remote (will break off)
...The Panasonic DVD Home Theater sound system SA-HT80, is just short of spectacular in my opinion. I purchased this silver box of tricks just before christmas, and i still cant beleive how good the machine makes, not just DVD's sound but also CD's, normal TV and Video.
The machine is a 5 Disc DVD/CD player, it is a FM/AM radio tuner and turns your cheap non nicam stereo TV into the latest Dolby surround sound system using 5 seperate speakers and a sub woofer. If you need to be convinced just go along to your local panasonic stockist and ask for a demo asking them to play the opening 15 minutes of Saving private ryan. I assure you on hearing the bombs and bullets explode around you, you will be hiding under the service desk as you hand over your credit card to the smiling salesman.
Unfortunatley the price tag will put some off (£600...

Sony D-NE500 Review - A Year After Bought
Review of Sony D-NE500 by
Seidhepriest
Advantages: Equaliser, CD/RW, MP3 playback, CD Text support.
Disadvantages: 40-18000 Hz frequency range, won't save any settings except EQ when battery replaced.
...'s nearly dry, skips even on a bump into a person in a Metro train.
Now, the problems.
The battery lid is inside the disc compartment itself; if Sony engineers' concern was the battery lid's exposition to shock and mechanical damage, they could've made a simple rubber lid, and mount it externally. As it is, especially on bumpy roads and in public transport, it can be very annoying to open the case, remove the CD, open the lid, remove the battery, pop in the replacement battery, etc.
The CD player runs off only one battery, which almost naturally guarantees a so-and-so sounding and low volume levels with the more serious headphones (a portable headphone amplifier is recommended). 16/24/32-Ohm semi-open cups are recommended (the ones used with this player are Panasonic RP-HT357).
The headphones that came with the player don't do it any justice...

Give it some serious thought first
Review of Panasonic SC-HT 990 by
1Tank1
Advantages: Nice looking design
Disadvantages: lack of upgrade options, underpowered sub.
...HD DVD while the Sony Playstation 3 can play Blue Ray. These systems will not be compatible with the Panasonic SC-HT990 so you will need to run the sound through your TV which sort of defeats the object of the surround sound. Granted you can play the sound through the Aux attachments on the rear of the player but that does not do much for quality as it splits your stereo channel to produce surround sound.
The sub is also a bit underpowered as it has no seperate amplifier and the speakers are 6 Ohm which basically means you cannot replace any of the speakers or use these system speakers on any other device. (most Hi-Fis use 4 or 8 Ohm speakers and it is reccommended that you always match your speakers to your amp.)
The other major dissapointment is that during the 14 months that I have owned it I have only used it for around 11 months...

SUPERSONIC PANASONIC NOT QUITE BUT IT SOUNDS GOOD
Review of Panasonic SC-HT 75 by
junkboxjules
Advantages: Stores up to 5 DVD's/CD's at a time, Allows you to mark up to five places on the DVD to return to later, Good quality sound and well known manufacturer
Disadvantages: You have to purchase a SCART lead before you can use the DVD Home Cinema System as it is not included within the package
...About a year ago my husband was lucky enough to win a Panasonic SC-HT70 All In One Home Theater Package in a National Competition. Until this point we didn't have a DVD player and we were absolutely thrilled to bits with our prize when it arrived and from that day forward we began to purchase DVD's in place of videos.
Some of you may know that earlier this year, in June, we returned home from holiday to find that our house had been burgled and that amongst lots of other valuable and precious items the Panasonic SC-HT70 had been stolen. Unfortunately when it came to sorting out the insurance claim the Panasonic SC-HT70 was no longer being stocked by the supplier who was to replace the Home Theater and we were offered an alternative, being the Panasonic SC-HT70 replacement model the Panasonic SC-HT75 and it is this product that I have...

THE VISIONARY PANASONIC DVDLV50EBS
Review of Panasonic DVDLV50EBS by
Puma1000
Advantages: Compact Dimensions/Price/Great Picture and Sound Quality
Disadvantages: Speaker Sound Quality
...---Overview---
Panasonic is by far one of my favourite electronic companies now and after purchasing this item it has reinforced that argument even further. Having to travel a lot on public transport over long distances can get a bit of a bore, some read a book others exhust the papers while a few gaze out of the window. Now Panasonic have managed to brighten up my life by giving me the escapism I need when travelling from dull location to another, I present the long-winded Panasonic DVDLV50EBS.
---Price---
Compared to a lot of other portable DVD's on the market this is relatively cheap clocking in at around £400 and some stores throw in a couple of free DVD's too!
---Sound/Picture Quality---
There is very little to grumble about the picture quality, the 5" display is very crisp however it could do with some a bit more range...

Looking for a minidisc BUY THIS
Review of Panasonic SJ-MR200 by
pjm123
Advantages: Smallest in the world, light, and very easy to use.
Disadvantages: Quite a long recharge time.
...The Panasonic SJMR-200 minidisc player boasts a sleek design, is super lightweight and is extremely user friendly. I bought this product about 3 weeks ago, and was told it was both the smallest and lightest minidisc on the market- and upon purchasing this I could see why. It is almost weightless in your pocket, and is very durable (I dropped it twice and it remans undamaged!).It is tiny, and hosts many great features other minidiscs do not even come close to matching.
It has a great navigation pad, with feathertouch technology (no pressure needed to carry out functions). The minidisc both records and plays with crystal clear quality, and offers noise reduction technology and a very long anti-shock (40 seconds). It looks brilliant, and all aspects of this product surpass any of Sony's minidiscs I have seen.
The remote control included...

This has to be the best LCD TV I have seen
Review of Panasonic TX-32LXD700 by
fatboyslim
Advantages: Ease of use, superb picture quality, superb sound quality
Disadvantages: NONE
...I would like to begin my review by pointing out the following.
Previous to me owning the Panasonic TX-32 LXD700 I had owned for 9 days a Panasonic TH-37PX70 Plasma TV, which I returned to the shop in exchange for the Panasonic TX-32 LXD700, the reason for this was the following. I own a Play station 3, as some of you may know, Plasma TV's can suffer from image burn / image retention, this basically means that if a static image is on the screen for an amount of time, e.g. a channel logo on digital TV or a still graphic off of a games console for example a speedometer (in my case) off of a racing game, then there is a good possibility that this image will be still visibly when you start to watch TV especially on a dark scene. Prior to me purchasing the Panasonic TH-37PX70 Plasma TV I had asked the sales assistant if the Plasma TV would...
