...We have owned a speaker-phone for many years but never really found the voice quality and reception very good at all. In fact I would say it was practically impossible! At the time we had bought one of the most expensive models we could find thinking it would give the best sound quality through the speakers and microphone, at best the caller's voice was muffled and the microphone would only pick up our voice if we stayed within about a foot of it and spoke more or less into the microphone. Not good at all when wanting to have a telephone conversation at the same time as preparing a meal. Talk a lot? Think - Panasonic KX-TG 8222

Advantages: Stylish, feel good and great functionality.
Disadvantages: Very susceptible to finger prints!!

...The Panasonic KX-TG 8222 is a brilliant home phone and no mistaking; I do most of my communicating by telephone via my mobile and even then only when I have to. I am not one of those people who pick up a phone and chat endlessly to someone because I have nothing better to do but when I do need to use a phone I like it to feel comfortable to hold and not to crackle in my ear, those were my only real lookouts for a phone but I didn`t realise how bad our old house phones really were until we bought these. Funky Panasonic Phone

Advantages: Clarity of sound, lots of useful functions, easy to use, funky lookin

...up with the useless BT phones for many years I had a wish list of features that I wanted in the new phones. I also refused to have another BT model. After much searching I decided upon the Panasonic KX-TG 8220. It had everything I wanted and more to boot, the only downside was the price. We bought the 3 handset pack for £109.99 from Argos. Model Names Here is a brief explanation of the Panasonic model naming system. The KX-TG8220E refers to the model that consists of the answer phone base unit and one handset. I bought the KX-TG8223EW, the 3 meaning it comes with 3 handsets and the W at the end meaning the colour of the model is white. The model is also available in black and these model numbers will have a B at the end instead of the W. A twin pack will be 8222 and a quad pack will be 8224. They are all the same model but...

Panasonic KX-TG7123E with answering machine

Advantages: 3 handsets, hands-free, illuminated screen
Disadvantages: Basic ringtones; no volume adjustment on base station.

The main base station plugs into the telephone line, with a mains adaptor into the mains socket, and the other 2 charger units plug into any other 2 mains sockets. I upgraded to this model from a 2-handset BT model, as the battery life had deteriorated badly. ...This set of DECT handsets is a great buy if you can get it at a good price. I got mine in Tesco of all places for only £44. You get 2 handsets in the pack. The main base station plugs into your telephone line, and also mains adaptor into your mains supply, and the second charger unit only needs another mains supply. This is my second Panasonic DECT hanset, and I upgraded to this model as it has an illuminated display which is handy if someone calls in the middle of the night, or you need to make a call in the dark! Panasonic DECT brilliance

Advantages: Easy to use, excellent sound and build quality
