Always the way, but whenever I go shopping for something electrical, some guy in a suit always sways me towards something different. Which I should really learn from and just buy online, its usually cheaper anyway. Panasonic Lumix TZ6 - metal-bodied compact zoom

Advantages: Sturdiness, Ease of use, Autofocus Tracking
Disadvantages: Overshadowed by the TZ7, Tries to do everything for you

...I always find it a little strange when a company releases two similar models at the same time, especially when the price difference is only around £40. The Panasonic Lumix TZ6 and TZ7 are similar stable-mates, with the TZ7 being the superior of the two. Having said that, the extra features of the TZ7 are things I can quite comfortably live without, such as the superior video capability with stereo sound, an HDMI output, and the ability of the camera to recognise up to 15 of your friends when they appear in a picture. Why would I want that? I don't have 15 friends - and even if I did, I'm sure I could remember them myself! Panasonic Lumix TZ6, Versatile compact with great image quality

Advantages: Fantastic little camera with 12 x zoom & 10.1MP (better than TZ5), but cheaper than TZ7

The lens has wide angle capabilities. Camera has all basic features needed for a simple compactable digital camera. There are not very much extra features, but that is not very bad, becouse too many extra features also makes the camera harder to use. I will continue on commenting about the use of the camera. It is very simple. Even my father, who is bad at using such kind of cameras, clearly understands how to use it. A great feature-packed camera

(One thing I am yet to try is stock video so maybe this camera does have money making ability. Hmmm.) What you lose from buying this instead of a HD camcorder though, is the sound quality. Although very good close up, this is no good pin-pointing someone talking at a distance. I nearly forget why this camera?s HD video also stands out from its competitors. Quite simply because you can zoom at the same time. The equivalent Canon is unable to do this, which is surprising. And was one of the reasons why Panasonic got my money. ...Having always been a bit of a cheap and cheerful camera buyer, I was a bit nervous spending nearly double what I'd usually spend on a camera. This camera has proved to be beyond value for money though! The Lumix DMC-TZ5 is a 9.1 megapixel, with a wide angle lens and boasts an awesome 10X optical zoom. It's also a remarkable easy camera to use, a lot of time has gone into setting up the intelligent auto function (which is the main setting you'll use), that means the camera works out what type of photo your taking, adjust for light and does pretty much everything a photographer does (all be it not to the same level of expertise) as you take the photo, meaning amazing shots ever time.
