The camera is run from a battery pack, which comes with the camera and which can be replaced, I looked at the cost of a replacement, and if we needed one, we would be looking at about £20. The camera comes with a charger so it is easy to charge and make sure that the batteries are topped up, the first charge we did took a matter of an hour to full charge the machine up. I understand that with time this will take longer and also that the battery will last less, but currently the battery and charger are so efficient that we are entirely impressed. Design Digital cameras, in my opinion, are very good looking pieces of technology they are small and compact, the Lumix FS7 is no exception, and I consider the camera to be trendy looking. Panasonic TZ3 over Canon A710

Advantages: Leica wide angled lens, 10x optical zoom, great looks and build quality, large screen
Disadvantages: no viewfinder, proprietry battery pack, slightly heavier than the competition

...everything else, it is not all good. Most reviews claim that the Canon manages to take crisper pictures during the day. Although I cannot confirm this, what I can say is that the TZ3 satisfied my daytime needs very well. Another thing which makes a difference for others is that the Canon allows for much more tuning of functions. For example whilst the TZ3 is a pure point and shoot, the Canon allows for manual changing of shutter speeds and other things which are usually found on higher end cameras. Another thing which is lacking on the TZ3 is a view finder (something which can be found on the Canon). One thing which some people may like but I don't is the fact that the Panasonic uses a proprietry battery pack. I'd rather it used normal rechargable AA batteries, as they are much easier to find. All in all it all boils down to personal preference...

Panasonic Lumix TZ6 - metal-bodied compact zoom

...I always find it a little strange when a company releases two similar models at the same time, especially when the price difference is only around £40. The Panasonic Lumix TZ6 and TZ7 are similar stable-mates, with the TZ7 being the superior of the two. Having said that, the extra features of the TZ7 are things I can quite comfortably live without, such as the superior video capability with stereo sound, an HDMI output, and the ability of the camera to recognise up to 15 of your friends when they appear in a picture. Why would I want that? I don't have 15 friends - and even if I did, I'm sure I could remember them myself! Panasonic Lumix TZ6, Versatile compact with great image quality

Advantages: Fantastic little camera with 12 x zoom & 10.1MP (better than TZ5), but cheaper than TZ7

Panasonic Lumic TZ3

Advantages: Big LCD Screen, 10 x Optical Zoom, 7.2 Mega Pixels
Disadvantages: A little heavy

...This is a great camera. In the past I've owned Sony Cybershots which have been very good but the Panasonic is a step above. Not many cameras for this price range offer 10x Optical Zoom & 7.2 Megapixels unless you go for an SLR. I got this camera for £150 off Amazon about 4 months ago and am very happy with the purchase. One major benefit is the LCD screen on the back which is massive. There are countless functions with this camera including 2 favourite picture settings. This allows you to save default picture settings so that you can quickly take a photo before your subject has upped & left. I'm not a Camera Boffin so needed a camera where you can take photos without reading a massive manual beforehand. This camera is ideal for someone who wants good picture quality without paying through the nose....

The Energizer Battery Charger

.... This charger was on offer. The normal RRP being £17.99. The charger came with four AA size Energizer 2500mAH batteries. These were the same size of battery that I required for my camera. My camera however only requires two batteries so I thought that this would be ideal as I could always have a spare set of fully charged batteries with me when I was out and about with my camera. This charger comes packaged in a thick plastic packet that was moulded around the shape of the charger. This packaging is transparent so you can see what you are buying before you part with your money. The charger itself is rather modern looking and very compact. It is also very lightweight and weighs only 132g. Size wise it measures just 80cm long by 10cm wide and it is less than 3cm thick.
