...I always find it a little strange when a company releases two similar models at the same time, especially when the price difference is only around £40. The Panasonic Lumix TZ6 and TZ7 are similar stable-mates, with the TZ7 being the superior of the two. Having said that, the extra features of the TZ7 are things I can quite comfortably live without, such as the superior video capability with stereo sound, an HDMI output, and the ability of the camera to recognise up to 15 of your friends when they appear in a picture. ...Having always been a bit of a cheap and cheerful camera buyer, I was a bit nervous spending nearly double what I'd usually spend on a camera. The perfect backpackers camera

Advantages: Small enough to fit into your pocket but with a powerful zoom!

...I purchased the original DMC-TZ1 when it first came onto the market a few years back and thought it was a great camera. But this one is even better! The 9.1mp makes for a good clear shot and the 12x optical zoom is amazing! Its the perfect camera for travelling - it can fit into your pocket or a going out bag ensuring you always have a camera to capture every moment. The zoom is the perfect added bonus. The only downside as I see it is the battery must be a specific type which isnt compatable with many other cameras. Having said that the battery is good quality and lasts for ages once charged. Because the battery is so specific to purchase a spare (which I would recommend for anyone travelling) isnt the cheapest....

...So far there is only one problem that i have found with this camera. That is when the ISO gets above 200 the images start to blur slightly but i don't know of many, if any compact cameras with 10x zoom will prevent the blurring from happening on higher ISO settings. The build quality of the camera is superb it feels weighty which to me is a good sign that the camera actually has something decent inside of it :). But i will say that it is not as small as most compact cameras but when you think about having a lens with 10x optical zoom there has to be somewhere to hide it. The features are pretty similar to the tz3 in terms of function settings and the results are very impresive. The macro function produces clear shots and also the auto function when taking scenery is amazing aswell. My only other gripe with this product is the lack...
