I Admit It, I'm A Panasonic Loaf Lover!

Advantages: Gorgeous bread, easy to make, easy to use, cheap bread, healthier
Disadvantages: Initial outlay but worth the investment.

I find that running a silicone spatula around the edge of the loaf very lightly makes the loaf a bit easier to remove from the tin - not that it's stupidly difficult without doing so as the tin is non stick and the bread doesn't seem to stick at all, unless the non stick coating is damaged in any way. You may find that your dough blade bakes into your loaf and gets stuck in it, apparently this could be down to 2 things (according to Panasonic), the first one is that your dough is too stodgy so they advise to add another 10mls fluid in white bread and 20mls in wholemeal to loosen it a bit. The other reason is that the dough blade is damaged as it is non stick and could be sticking to the dough, in which case they seem happy enough to send you a replacement out. This leads me to...

Panasonic Lumix TZ6, Versatile compact with great image quality

Advantages: Fantastic little camera with 12 x zoom & 10.1MP (better than TZ5), but cheaper than TZ7
Disadvantages: No HD movie mode, not very cheap

... There are very few other 12 x zoom compacts (I can only think of the Canon PowerShot SX200 IS), so the Panasonic Lumix TZ range pretty much has the market to itself. The TZ6 has the advantage over the TZ5 with and extra 1 megapixel and 2 x zoom, as well as a slightly different styling. As far as I have seen the TZ6 is not thatmuch more expensive than the TZ5, so I found it worth getting the newer model. The TZ7 is the most recent release in the series and is almost exactly the same as the TZ6 both with 10.1 MP and 12x zoom - having seen them together in a shop, they look like carbon copies. The main difference on the TZ7 is the new HD movie mode, which is a feature I would like, but I can't justify spending a significant amount extra for this one feature, as still image quality is the most important aspect for me. The Panasonic Lumix TZ6 and TZ7 are similar stable-mates, with the TZ7 being the superior of the two. My mother needs to eat a gluten-free diet which means she cannot eat regular bread but with this machine she has been able to create loaves both from a gluten-free bread book and also just herself from the skill she has honed with this machine. I have tried both the shop bought and homemade wheat-free bread and there is no comparison, hands down the Panasonic SD 254 wins. When purchased the box was extremely heavy as this machine contains a lot of mixing equipment which has been cast in metal to make it will last under the pressure of mixing thick dough.
