Brilliant Bread Every Time - Panasonic SD 254

Advantages: The best bread you will ever taste, on a timer just ready in time for breakfast.
Disadvantages: If you can't wait since it smells so good... you might burn your fingers like me!

...This Panasonic SD 254 bread maker was a spur-of-the-moment impulse buy from Macro when it was on special offer about a year ago, for £50. My mother needs to eat a gluten-free diet which means she cannot eat regular bread but with this machine she has been able to create loaves both from a gluten-free bread book and also just herself from the skill she has honed with this machine. I have tried both the shop bought and homemade wheat-free bread and there is no comparison, hands down the Panasonic SD 254 wins. When purchased the box was extremely heavy as this machine contains a lot of mixing equipment which has been cast in metal to make it will last under the pressure of mixing thick dough. Protected by polystyrene box inserts the machine came along with a small measuring cup, spoon and the usual user's guide as well as a warranty card...

Hot Bread

...I bought the Panasonic SD 253 about 4 years ago and would not be without it - I haven't bought a loaf of bread in all that time and am grateful not to be eating a load of chemicals introduced by the bread producers who only want to get a long shelf life at our expense. It certainly is not the smallest of machines, but should fit under a conventional work top, the height is 37.0cm x 34.0cm wide x 26.0cm deep, I am lucky to have a small utility room and keep the machine on the work surface out there. This one also has a raisen/nut dispenser which is very easy to operate, giving you lots of scope for making these delicious breads. The days of tasty bread are back!!

Advantages: Variety of breads it can make, simple instructions, lovely taste, well made machine, idiot proof
Disadvantages: A little bulky, can't slice bread

...When it comes to cooking or baking I am not that particularly good at it, the limits of my cooking skills are beans on toast & heating up soup from a tin. I rely totally on my better half. King of Bread Makers

Advantages: fresh bread, bakes larger loaves, gluten free program, nut/raisin dispenser
Disadvantages: takes time to bake a basic white

...I've recently reviewed the Kenwood BM which I also own along with the Panasonic SD 253. The Panasonic was going for a price I couldn't ignore, private sale and not from the shops. The Panasonic is a mighty machine! It stands much higher than the Kenwood. The features that appeal to me are the nut/raisin dispenser and the "bake only" program. The machine comes with a measuring spoon and measuring cup and a large instruction/recipe book. Within seconds of getting it home I'd given it a quick wipe out and had ingredients at the ready. Bread machine standard ingredients are required so be on the lookout for "super-strong" flour and fast acting yeast. Also needed is salt, sugar, butter, water and powdered milk. ...that it is in properly. However, this does not detract from what I think a brilliant machine. We were given it from our wedding list and someone else had told us to "either get a Panasonic bread maker or not to bother getting a bread maker"....

Use your loaf! (Groan...!) - Panasonic SD253 Bread Machine

Advantages: perfect bread every time... as long as you follow the rule book!
Disadvantages: spare/replacement parts expensive

...there is no reason on the planet why you should ever buy a rubbish nasty tasteless and checmically processed loaf of bread from the shops again. Second only to hand-baked, THIS is the best bread ever! It smells tasty, it tastes tasty, blow me if it isn't just the tasiest bread from a machine! Although I've used it regularly, I surprise even myself as I haven't yet used it to it's full potential, for example I have yet to attempt the pizza base function, though I do really love the sound of home-made pizza, not to mention the cakes and biscuits! This is the first bread maker I ever bought, and it was chosen on the strength of reviews I read, such as this one! I Admit It, I'm A Panasonic Loaf Lover!

Advantages: Gorgeous bread, easy to make, easy to use, cheap bread, healthier
Disadvantages: Initial outlay but worth the investment.

Panasonic Lumix TZ6, Versatile compact with great image quality

Advantages: Fantastic little camera with 12 x zoom & 10.1MP (better than TZ5), but cheaper than TZ7

...Mister Maker - Cbeebies.... Mister Maker is a programme that is shown on the Cbeebies channel (614 sky or 71 digibox). It is repeated twice a day and is shown pretty much 7 days a week, meaning we have seen this show a lot. The show, as with all programmes shown on the Cbeebies channel, is aimed at small children of pre-school age and just over meaning it is watched by children from 0 to 4. The show is, as its name would suggest, about a man who makes different things and a lot of it is very simple to make using things that one would have around the home. Mister Maker himself is a 20 something year old man who is a little bit wacky and slightly annoying.
