The iPod itself sits in a docking port on the top of the device - adapters are provided so that you can use any iPod model with the HiFi. It sits, in the centre, at a slightly reclined angle and this it my only real concern about the whole thing. There's not much holding the iPod in place other than the docking connector, so while the whole thing is of a size that you COULD walk down the high street with it on your shoulder, the iPod is held precariously enough that I would strongly advise against it. That said, in the last 2 months I've not had any problems fitting, removing the iPod. ...I needed to get a new LCD TV and Home Cinema System. With no knowledge, I bought an issue of What Hi-Fi Sound and Vision. This magazine contains articles and mini tests on everything, you guessed it "sound and vision". All the information and technical advice required to make my decisions easier was in the magazine. They review equipment for the average person right through to the "money no object" type (i'm the afore mentioned I hasten to add!). After 2 hours of reading (easy to understand) I was able to make a short list and road test at the local electrical stores my choices. The magazine suggested that you shop around (how many people dont) for deals.....I did and thanks to the magazine, I saved £250 on my 2 purchases. It is fair to say that a vast part of the magazine is a listing of "previous tests and review scores...

Oak Look Hi Fi

Advantages: Great looks, clear sound, good price

...I have just been out and purchased a small hi fi for my lounge. In days gone by, we had monsterous stacking hi fi systems but, as with all technology, things have shrunk and vastly improved in quality. The same goes for Aiwa Hi Fi equipment. Once upon a time, Aiwa was frowned on in the High Street. Known for its cheaper styles and even cheaper sound, it was one to steer clear of. However, this little beauty does a great job at a great price and looks out of this world. If you pop along to Ikea and look at most of the furniture, light wood is definitely in at the moment. Wheather it be light oaks or maples, it the surface that most cabinets come in. In fact, most of the little stereo systems in their demo rooms look very similar to the Aiwa XR-EM200 micro hi fi. ...This is the first and self titled album from the american band American Hi-Fi. I bought this album after just hearing one the singles released from it; "flavour of the weak." When I fist heard this song I couldn't find out who it was by and every time I listened to it on the radio and became more obsessed about finding out who it was! That is how good it was. The sound of the 4 piece from boston is a mix between good old fashioned rock and roll, with a slght indie feel and maybe a slight bit of emo concerning the lyrics. If you were to compare them to any other bands you are probably looking at nickleback or muddle of mud. Although American Hi-Fi are a MUCH better version of these. ...This is the great debut album from the Boston boys. This is great rock n roll music and great set-up. Although there are definitely some weak songs, there are also some very strong ones. I don't think that this album is quite what American Hi-Fi describe it as themselves, but it is definitely a good buy. It kind of sounds like the Foo Fighters would have done if Dave Grohl hadn't been in Nirvana. It's lacking something, but I'm sure this could be easily cured by experience. A Hi-Fi that looks from space but stuck in the past.

Advantages: Powerful sound, flashy look.
Disadvantages: CD changer is slow and cumbersome, no auto reverse on tape

...on presets such as hall, disco, live, classical, loud, super bass. Personally I would've preferred the ability to change the bass and treble myself, but today most Hi-Fi's preset everything. There is also mute and a timer. One needs the remote to change a lot of functions on this system including the presets, rather annoying in my opinion, as remotes have legs and like to hide. The speakers are very large and solid with tweeters they seem good quality, but they have the wires built into the back of the speakers, my preference would been non built in as sometimes the speaker wire lead is not long enough, then what do you do? I suppose Panasonic estimated that the majority would place the Hi-Fi and speakers somewhat close together. The CD sounds fine, but changing discs via the 5 disc change mechanism is time consuming and noisy process, it also...

Panasonic Lumix TZ6, Versatile compact with great image quality

Advantages: Fantastic little camera with 12 x zoom & 10.1MP (better than TZ5), but cheaper than TZ7
Disadvantages: No HD movie mode, not very cheap

...The Panasonic Lumix TZ6 is a great little camera that I have used to compliment my large DSLR (a Nikon D90 I have also reviewed), which is too big and expensive to be taken everywhere. Specification The TZ6 is compact camera with 10.1 MP, which is plenty of pixels for all but the larger prints and harshest crops. This means that in normal conditions there will never be pixelation, in fact too many megapixels squashed onto a sensor can actually reduce the image quality. The most important feature of this camera is the 12x zoom, 25mm wide angle, Leica lens.
