Panasonic Lumix TZ6, Versatile compact with great image quality

Advantages: Fantastic little camera with 12 x zoom & 10.1MP (better than TZ5), but cheaper than TZ7
Disadvantages: No HD movie mode, not very cheap

... There are very few other 12 x zoom compacts (I can only think of the Canon PowerShot SX200 IS), so the Panasonic Lumix TZ range pretty much has the market to itself. The TZ6 has the advantage over the TZ5 with and extra 1 megapixel and 2 x zoom, as well as a slightly different styling. As far as I have seen the TZ6 is not thatmuch more expensive than the TZ5, so I found it worth getting the newer model. The TZ7 is the most recent release in the series and is almost exactly the same as the TZ6 both with 10.1 MP and 12x zoom - having seen them together in a shop, they look like carbon copies. The main difference on the TZ7 is the new HD movie mode, which is a feature I would like, but I can't justify spending a significant amount extra for this one feature, as still image quality is the most important aspect for me. Panasonic Lumix TZ6 - metal-bodied compact zoom

Advantages: Sturdiness, Ease of use, Autofocus Tracking
Disadvantages: Overshadowed by the TZ7, Tries to do everything for you

...I always find it a little strange when a company releases two similar models at the same time, especially when the price difference is only around £40. The Panasonic Lumix TZ6 and TZ7 are similar stable-mates, with the TZ7 being the superior of the two. Having said that, the extra features of the TZ7 are things I can quite comfortably live without, such as the superior video capability with stereo sound, an HDMI output, and the ability of the camera to recognise up to 15 of your friends when they appear in a picture. Why would I want that? I don't have 15 friends - and even if I did, I'm sure I could remember them myself! I Admit It, I'm A Panasonic Loaf Lover!

Brilliant Bread Every Time - Panasonic SD 254

Advantages: The best bread you will ever taste, on a timer just ready in time for breakfast.

...This Panasonic SD 254 bread maker was a spur-of-the-moment impulse buy from Macro when it was on special offer about a year ago, for £50. My mother needs to eat a gluten-free diet which means she cannot eat regular bread but with this machine she has been able to create loaves both from a gluten-free bread book and also just herself from the skill she has honed with this machine. I have tried both the shop bought and homemade wheat-free bread and there is no comparison, hands down the Panasonic SD 254 wins. When purchased the box was extremely heavy as this machine contains a lot of mixing equipment which has been cast in metal to make it will last under the pressure of mixing thick dough. After much searching I decided upon the Panasonic KX-TG 8220. It had everything I wanted and more to boot, the only downside was the price. We bought the 3 handset pack for £109.99 from Argos. Model Names Here is a brief explanation of the Panasonic model naming system. The KX-TG8220E refers to the model that consists of the answer phone base unit and one handset. I bought the KX-TG8223EW, the 3 meaning it comes with 3 handsets and the W at the end meaning the colour of the model is white. The model is also available in black and these model numbers will have a B at the end instead of the W. A twin pack will be 8222 and a quad pack will be 8224. They are all the same model but...
