Paphian Bay Hotel Paphos

Advantages: Everything!!

...I stayed at this hotel for one week in July 2005. It was brilliant. The hotel looked classy from the inside and out, and was only a short way from the shops and restaurants in Paphos. Check In: I arrived at this hotel with 2 other family members, it was night time and we were all feeling tired and stressed. The check in to the hotel was quick, even though there was only one receptionist there. We quickly found our room on the bottom floor of the hotel, just a little way down the corridor. What we thought was the bottom floor was actually not though, as we found out, you had to go downstairs to get to the pool and the other facilities. Agapinor Hotel - Paphos

Advantages: Clean, air -conditioned rooms
Disadvantages: Location and poor choice of evening meals

...My boyfriend and i stayed at the Agapinor for 11 nights in June 2006. We booked through Go-Travel having only a small hoilday fund! We knew we wanted to go to Paphos but didn't mind were we stayed. For our budget we only had a choice of this hotel and a self catering hotel. We chose the Agapinor as the description said it was close to the shops and it was half board. the hotel and flights cost £450 each. What i didn't realise was that there are two parts to Paphos, the old town (which is where the Agopinor is situated) and the tourist part by the harbour, the distance between the two is about 3km. This became a problem as all the bars, clubs and restaurants are near the harbour. In the daytime there is a bus service which runs about every 10 mins and costs about 40p, this stops early evening so the only way to get to the harbour is...

My partner had an eye test and a new pair of glasses for around CYP 30.00. ~ Tap water is perfectly safe to drink. ~ Cyprus is 2 hours ahead of GMT. ~ I deliberately haven't mentioned anything about places to stay in Paphos or Cyprus, as there is simply not enough space to go into detail. Suffice it to say that there are literally massive amounts of building work underway in Cyprus. IBEROSTAR LEDRA BEACH HOTEL. PAPHOS.

Advantages: Super staff, great food, pools excellent, lots of little nice touches.
Disadvantages: Rocky beach. Dated rooms.

...Lovely hotel in wonderful Paphos. Staff cannot do enough for you - waiting staff in the bar are attentive, polite and friendly. Entertainment staff - evening shows a little poor but they try really hard to keep everyone happy and entertained with no pressure to join in. Nice touches such as fruit & wine in rooms on arrival, free mini bar with soft drinks replenished daily, beds turned down & chocolates or a flower on your pillow at night. Rooms: decor a little tired and in need of refurbishment but still in good order. Cleanliness is excellent throughout the buildings and in the grounds. Staff were always busy behind the scenes. SEA VIEW IS WORTH EVERY PENNY ! Food is very well cooked with plenty of choice. Weekly Gala Dinner by the pool is lovely (although food here a little cold) No problem finding sunbeds...

On the beach, value for money hotel

...from the swimming pools, bars, library, a games room, souvenir shop etc. But the hotel is situated right on the beach and close to few bars and restaurants. That was enough for us as we wanted a relaxing holiday with something to do in the evening if we decided we didnt want to spend it in the hotel. There is a local bus route which stops outside the hotel which will take you into the old town of Paphos - there is a market there once a week. Or you could go sightseeing - the Castle at Paphos harbour, Tombs of the Kings and lots more. The whole of Paphos is actually on the World Heritage List so you can imagine there is plenty to see if you are into your history. 3 not 4* hotel, tired in places but good food

Advantages: Excellent food. Good value for money.
Disadvantages: Overcrowded swimming pool area. Pool area very slippery.

...We recently stayed at the Louis Phaethon Beach Hotel, Paphos. We thought the hotel was ok and good value for money but its best point was the food. The carpets in the corridors could be replaced as they were rather tired. The paintwork could be repainted particularly around skirting board and floor areas. But the hotel was generally clean. It has reasonable seating areas although a lot of the loungers were big plastic cushioned seating rather than leather or fabric but were of resonable condition. We had a nice room overlooking the trees around the pool. It was a little close to the outside bar area so if you wanted an early night you would hear noise from people talking and any entertainment that might have been going on. This didn't bother us as we didn't go to bed till late and the airconditioning and my earplugs (Husband snores...

Helios Bay Hotel, Paphos (well almost)

Advantages: Beautiful setting, helpful staff
Disadvantages: Quite a way from Paphos town centre

...We stayed at this Hotel in June and had originally booked two studio apartments but on arrival we were upgraded to a two bedroom villa this may have affected my opinion of this hotel. The only complaint we could possibly have made about this Hotel is it is not actually in Paphos, it is the last hotel on the 'Tomb of the Kings' road running out of Paphos, having said that we had a hire car so the distance wasn't a problem for us but if you were expecting to stay here and walk into Paphos you'd have a long walk. Right that is the complaint out of the way now for the good points. Firstly you must go to at least one of the Monday night BBQ's, not so much for the quality of the food but to watch the Greek dancing, the main male dancer was supported by one of the other dancers every time he did a kick, it was hilarious.
