The look of the globe is fantastic and the layout of the countries are excellent considering they have squeezed every country in, even San Marino and Equatorial Guinea have a mention! Countries are a mixture of pastel shades which is a great idea as my daughter can remember where the country is, from its colour. All capital cities are highlighted and on larger countries other major towns and cities. Wouldnt want to be a tourist!

...I spent 16 years in one of the most beautiful countries of the world and although I loved living there I wouldnt recommend it as a tourist destination. Papua New Guinea is an island located north of Australia. Half of the island belongs to Indonesia and is called Irian Jaya. The other half is Papua New Guinea. Within PNG there are 2 distinct areas - the coast and the highlands. The coast is your typical island paradise. The highlands are a little more primative and saw their first white man less than 100 years ago. Having grown up in PNG I was well aware of the crime and how to deal with things. Only too often I saw tourists (or terrorists as we called them :) ) being ripped off, having passports, cameras and anything else of value stolen. Crime in PNG is rampant! ...As some people may have noticed, we have a guinea pig. His name is Bradley and I'm a bit biased, but he deserves a review of his own! Guinea pigs make great pets for people of all ages. They are small, portable, friendly, can be kept indoors or out and even house trained if you have lots of time to spare. They require very little maintenance but really do appreciate a daily cuddle or will even sit and listen if you want to have a chat while doing the housework. Guineas make great listeners. They are very gentle and will allow anyone to handle them if they are gentle too. Guinea pigs are not known for being very intelligent, but do recognise their owners and can be trained to do very simple things if the task is repeated often enough. Health-wise they are really easy to keep - as long as they are cleaned out regularly...

Advantages: Very very cute animals. May live 10 years.
Disadvantages: Need a lot of care if they are to be looked after properly

The risks are many from cats, foxes, the cold, and in summer fly strike which is a potentially fatal condition where flies lay their eggs on the guinea and the maggots bury themselves into the skin leading to death if not treated quickly. The summer also causes heat stroke in guineas which can be fatal. They have no sweat glands and they do not pant so fluid builds up on the lungs when they overheat. A nice clean garage or shed is perfect. You can buy a run for the summer and you can put them out for short periods under supervision on warm but not hot days.
