...What a fantastic hotel. It's has a beach from location so it's just seconds away from the white sands and turquise seas. Simply breathtaking!!!! The hotel isnt cramed into a small area...it's set on a spacious estate, about 80 acres. There are coconut trees spread out around the area, and looks very tropical. For 3 star plus hotel, you dont get anything better than this in Mauritius. It has everything you need. You have the option to do either half board or all inclusive. In my experience, do the all inclusive. The food in the restaurants are deliciuos. The hotel has many facilties and is ideal if you have small children. The Beach: Paradise, or Prison???

Advantages: Entertaining concept.
Disadvantages: Too much swearing and a dismal plot.

...I rented out the beach quite some time ago, to watch during an otherwise uneventful evening in. I'm afraid that my immediate impressions as I sat there watching it were Waaay too much swearing. I know it makes it more realistic etc, but it does make me feel slightly uncomfortable and I dont think there is any real need for quite so much. Anyway, enough on that. The concept and plot was quite inspiring. the fact that these 2 guys thought they had discovered a paradise, but it just turned out to be its own curse and downfall. The basic plot of the story is that 2 guys (one of them played by Leonardo Di Caprio) discover a map to a secret Island, which is meant to be a pure paradise. ...We usually like to try a new place every year for our summer holidays but this year we decided to return to the resort of Puerto Rico on the island of Gran Canaria after staying there last year. One of the main reasons for the return was the fact that we loved the apartments we had stayed in last year and the other main reason was for the wonderful Amadores Beach.
