...Southsea Leisure Park is where I stayed last Friday night with my wife and two stepchildren and firstly I would like to state that "LEISURE PARK" is not what I would call it and I find it misleading. The website states that certain facilities such as swimming pool, golf, fishing, children's play area, and others are onsite or nearby, but fails to tell you exactly which facilities are onsite and which ones are not. I first booked this site a month ago and found the booking service by telephone very easy. You can also book online at "Southsealeisurepark.com" but you will have to wait for a response. At the time of booking the person who took my call was helpful and polite. As I was only giving short notice of my visit I was asked to pay on arrival which was surprising but useful as I didn't have to hunt down my credit card. We left...

My favourite park!

Advantages: Lots of space and things to see and do
Disadvantages: None

...at the park: If like me you actually live quite close to the park but, just slightly too far to walk in a reasonable time, or live no where near there is parking available. There is a charge for this which is £1 per car and this is for as long as you want! I think this is very reasonable when compared to other parks in the region such as Tatton which charge more than double that! Overall opinion: I think Wythenshawe park is a great place for everybody - myself and my husband have walked our dogs many times in the park and the huge open fields mean there is always lots of space and even though there might be lots of visitors it never feels too busy. The playground keeps children happy for hours and the range of other things to see and do mean you could easily spend a whole day here. I would always recommend this park to anybody as I am...

...is very accessible! It is behind a lot of houses at one end, so for many it is simply an out of the back door park. FOr others though it may be quite a hike, and a car would be best. Thankfully there is a little car park within the park so it is not a problem. There are also a few cycle routes that take you straight into the park too. Thankfully, you can get to this glorious park in many ways so should be suitable for all, especially since they recently lauched a bus service that runs round the streets and picks people up to take them there during Summer! One thing that makes the park good is its amount of amenities. There is the car park, which does make traveling a lot easier. Solway Holiday Park

...I have just come back from a week in the Lakes and have decided to try and have a go at reviewing the place we stayed. Solway Holiday Park is situated in Silloth Cumbria (about 22 miles west of Carlisle) which is small village with a population of around 3000. If you want a town with lots going on then Silloth is not for you, it has a lovely large green and a great sea view although it is not a beach. It also has cafes and the odd take away along with some little shops and of course a Spar (everywhere seems to have a Spar). Near the green is amusements which also sells refreshments. The park itself was quite easy to find I got the directions from greenflag. As we drove in through the entrance the reception was quite well sign posted, when we booked we were told booking in time was 4pm (which I thought was a bit late but...

Advantages: A beautiful day out for the whole family

...Lyme park is a beautiful, grand Elizabethan house situated in the heart of Disley in Cheshire. (It is run in association with the National trust and Stockport council). *Getting there?. By car, take the A6 from either Stockport or Buxton and the park is situated near Disley. Car parking cost £3.80 per car, which is refunded on purchase of an Adult house/garden ticket. The bus route is good as the 199 Buxton to Manchester Airport/ Manchester Airport-Buxton buses run regularly. There is also a bus from Macclesfield. The nearest train station is Disley which is a short walk to the entrance of the park (Apparently, when Lyme Hall is open the National Trust offer a courtesy bus to and from the Hall. I have never used this service so I can not offer any comment on it). *Opening times?.. The park is open all year round...

...convenience you get charged slightly more - £35.50 on the day and £30 if you book online. OPENING TIMES The opening times can be found on the website. For example, the park is now shut until the New Year and it opens again mid February for a couple of weeks 10am - 5pm. From here the park has longer opening hours, averaging 9.30am - 7pm but in the height of summer it opens until 9pm. PARKING THE CAR Thorpe Park has a massive car park which is within the grounds of the park so parking is not a problem! It was also free which was nice! ...in the morning we realised that we were in luck, as it was a bright sunny day and so we drove over to the park. Thorpe Park is pretty easy to get to, with a sign on the M25 telling you which junction to come off at, and then signs pointing you all the way to the front gate. As we drove in we could instantly see the swarms of other people who had had the same idea as us, but parking was not a problem. There was still masses of space left, and with the attendants directing us into spaces it was easy to park. We then headed over to buy our tickets, and were greeted with a massive queue. This was just after 9.30, so the park has already opened but the queue was snaking round towards the car park.
