...As some of you may already know, I have recently returned from a lovely break in Houston, Texas. The main reason for our trip was to go to "Wrestlemania", the WWE's large yearly event. Yes it is slightly sad to travel 5000 miles for wrestling, but you only live once and I am indeed sad! To ensure the expense and hassle would be worth it, we added an additional 7 night's holiday to the trip, making it a 10 night get away. We booked our wrestling part of the trip direct with WWE and thought the packages sounded like the best deal for our money. Included was 3 nights in the Hyatt Regency Hotel in downtown Houston as well as a lot of other boring wrestling things I won't bore you with! ;) My initial reaction when we were told and confirmed on the package, of where we would be staying for the last 3 nights of our trip, I was ecstatic...

TAKE YOU HYATT

Advantages: That presidential suite looks nice, good views over the city
Disadvantages: Service isn't fantastic, above budget for the average traveller

When the celebrities are performing in the city, they tend to stay here – I know that both Kylie and Madonna have occupied suites in the hotel (albeit on the VIP floor) so the Hyatt is therefore definitely aiming for the luxury end of the market. Birmingham City centre is easily accessible from a number of motorways, although I would recommend inspecting the route on a street map, as the one-way system can be a bit awkward. The main entrance to the hotel is just off Broad Street, on a side street, which also houses the central Travel Inn Metro. Disadvantages: Outside of town, boring breakfast

...I was quite excited to be visiting Kathmandu. The roof of the world, the Himalayas, Yaks, Yetis, and all that. I was on a short business trip so I knew that I wouldn't have time to take the fantastic dawn Everest flight (thankfully I was wrong about that!) or go yak-spotting (right on this one though). but still - Kathmandu! Grand Hyatt Mumbai

There is 2 Hyatts in Mumbai, one is called the Grand Hyatt, the other just the Hyatt. Lost in pretention

Advantages: Fantastic views of Tokyo, spacious rooms
Disadvantages: Outdated rooms and unaccommodating service.

Disadvantages: Rooms overlooking the Atrium can be noisy

...I had never been to New York until the 29th December, so I had no idea were to stay and how much I would need to be paying. Lucky for me I was travelling with some relatives who booked the holiday so I didn't have to spend forever trawling the Internet.
