Free Parking at THE PARK INN

Advantages: Location for Goose Fair or Polish Club
Disadvantages: Dide entrance for Wheel Chairs, makes them feel 2nd class.

...We had a Family Birthday to attend, Russ's 50th. The idea was that Katherine was organising Russ's 50th but did not let on to him who and how many were attending. So some of the Family were coming up from Peterborough and would need accomadation. The function was being held at The Polish Club on Sherwood Rise Nottingham. So i went onto www.hotelscomparison.com to look for hotels. When THE PARK INN came up there could only be one choice as this was about a two min stroll from the Polish Club. The site I booked thru was BOOKING.COM. Prices were £67 for a Double Room with Breakfast. Double Room only £41.25 (Non refundable) Had a chat with those coming, said not too botherered about Breakfast as we would prob have an early Sunday lunch before they started back. So Booked 5 Doubles at £41.25. On confirmation it...

DAYS INN - BIRMINGHAM WEST - £54.25 DOUBLE ENSUITE

Advantages: Cheap and cheerful, clean and tidy
Disadvantages: very basic, no frills, but at that price who wants them?

...We live in Devon and had tickets for a Runrig concert in Birmingham Symphony Hall. We live out in the country so going out into the big wide world can be quite scary you know what with all the guncrime and murder in the big cities!!! We were a bit wary of staying in the centre of Birmingham mainly due to cost, so we looked for somewhere on the edge and found Days Inn in West Bromwich, Birmingham. It is just off junction 1 of the M5 which was great and easy to find. We then took a taxi into Birmingham later on. This cost £12 each way, but thats another story! The hotel had underground parking which made us feel that the car was secure (no need to take the wheels in with us)!. The hotel is based on several floors of a large 10 storey building, with reception on the ground floor. Our swipe card would not open the room door...

Park Inn, Heathrow

Advantages: Convenient for airport, comfy bed, superb conceiage
Disadvantages: Restaurant very expensive

...left for the airport the next day and got on the 'Hoppa Bus'. This is a fleet of buses which shuttle passengers to and from the terminals. It costs around £4 per person. We paid £188 for 2 nights for 2 adults including breakfast, we booked directly through the Park Inn website. I would definitely stay here again as it was good value for money and very convenient for the airport....

West Midlands Safari Park

Advantages: Fun day out, Lots to see
Disadvantages: Not everythings included in the entrance price

...West Midlands Safari Park A large safari park between Kidderminster and Bewdly. It's easy to get to from main motorways. It is also signed from most main roads which are easy to follow and take you straight to where you want to be. You can choose to either drive around the safari park first or go into the main area which has a petting zoo, displays, shops and much more. Once you get there, there is plentiful parking for both cars and coaches, it's free to park and disabled parking is available nearer to the entrance. As you enter there is a row of shops in a covered area with a gift shop that you can visit either then or on your way out, there is a shop to purchase foods such as ice cream and fudge and various drinks, which can be enjoyed on your way around the attraction. There are displays going on all day including sea...

Holiday Inn A55 Chester West, Northop

Advantages: Excellent connection to Chester and North Wales, reasonably priced, very family friendly
Disadvantages: Only accessible on the westbound A55, slightly dated decor

.... At night the car park is well lit and feels secure. There is a McDonalds across the car park, along with a Costa Coffee, Subway, OK Diner and a petrol garage - so there are lots of eating options if you don't want to eat in the hotel. As mentioned above, the hotel feeds back onto the westbound A55 and so you have to go up to the next junction to turn around if you wanted to go to Chester. However, if you are travelling further into Wales, this is ideal. Decor The only key negative point with the hotel was that some of the decor was a little dated. It is clear that the hotel was operated as an independent hotel before it became a Holiday Inn, and so the bathroom in the room was a little old fashioned. The public toilets in the bar were also dated. The corridors were a little dim with a slightly dated carpet and were very narrow. These...

I'D PARK MYSELF IN THE PARK INN ANYTIME

Advantages: Excellent location, Trendy hotel, Easy to get to, Lovely rooms & Great facilities
Disadvantages: Car Parking is a little tricky & Food & drink prices can be quite high

...Having booked my New Year break in November 2004 I decided I would need to book an airport hotel to make sure I got my flight on time. I live in the Midlands and would find it really difficult to get down to Heathrow for 6am especially at holiday time. I haven't stayed in any airport hotels in London before so I really wasn't sure what to book and what to look for. As I work for a holiday company I do get a 50% discount on airport hotels so it really depended on what they could offer me. My family initially wanted to book the Holiday Inn which was fine with me but my company couldn't book this one so I had about 4 others to choose from and the Park Inn sounded the most appealing as it seemed the closest to the airport and probably the most easiest to get to. PRICES and HOW TO BOOK I booked directly with my company and got a twin room...

A nice country park in West Yorkshire

Advantages: Free access, good quality footpaths, an old mill and boathouse
Disadvantages: Messy paths after rainfall

...Newmillerdam Country Park lies adjacent to the main A61 Barnsley to Wakefield road in West Yorkshire. I have driven past here many times and I have always made a mental note to pay it a visit but it was only very recently that I finally got the chance to stop and have a look around. The country park is located approximately 5 kilometres south of Wakefield and covers an area of 237 acres. It consists of mixed broadleaf woodland centred around a large lake. When I visited here in early November the trees were lovely shades of golden brown. There is a large car park (pay and display) and a footpath goes all of the way around the lake. There are smaller footpaths that extend into the woodland and these are all popular with walkers, cyclists and horse riders. The earliest reference to this area date back 1285 when the area was known...

Tulip Inn Amsterdam West - Cheep & Cheerful

Advantages: Cheap, Cheerful and Clean
Disadvantages: Bit far out from centre and good 15 mins walk to tram stop down dark canal path

...If you want a cheep but cheerful hotel for a great weekend in a fabulous place then Tulip Inn Amsterdam West is for you. The Tulip Inn Amsterdam West is a 3 star hotel situated in the western area of Amsterdam (3 stars indicates that the hotel has a quality rating). There are 162 rooms, which are reasonably priced and during my stay there, the room was clean and had maid service every day. I stayed at the Tulip Inn Amsterdam West in December 2005 with 3 friends and we booked 2 twin rooms. The trip was extremely good value and was booked through Expedia at a price of £116 each including flights and 2 nights (3 days) stay at the hotel. The hotel states that it's facilities include; airport transportation (at extra cost), breakfast room (at extra cost), Wireless Internet access, Free Parking, Conference Rooms, a Restaurant...

West Midlands Safari Park - Fantastic day out!!

Advantages: A Fantastic day out for all the family
Disadvantages: Can make quite an expensive day

...I am lucky enough to live only a couple of miles away from the West Midlands Safari Park which is situated between Kidderminster and Bewdley (post code DY12 1LF for those with sat navs). I never get bored with visiting the park. They have a wide range of animals which you drive around in your car to visit i.e Llamas, camels, elephants, lions, tigers, giraffes, wild dogs, hippos and the other usual suspects. After a drive round the animals you can stop off for a picnic or visit the cafe for a well earned tea break (i would recommend bringing your own food and having a picnic as to buy food here certainly isn't cheap. The park is also home to an amusement arcade and fairground as well as the standard gift and sweet shop. Food is available to buy from the kiosk as you enter the park to feed the animals (though beware as a Llama once...

STAY INN WHEN YOU'RE OUT

Advantages: Stylish, comfortable, modern
Disadvantages: Not terribly good value

...Just when you thought it was safe to read my account again – it’s another hotel opinion!! I’ve been to Birmingham a couple of times over the last year, and my travel agent has consistently managed to land me in some seriously dodgy accommodation. This time, I therefore decided to make the arrangements myself – and eventually made a booking in the recently opened City Inn. Here’s what I thought: LOCATION The City Inn is one of a cluster of new hotels that has sprung up within the vicinity of Brindley Place, to the West of the city centre. An explosive programme of office and leisure developments has made this one of the most up and coming areas of the city, with a clear focus on modern architecture. The City Inn is situated in Brunswick Square, which is indirectly linked to Broad Street – one...
