royal station hotel
Advantages: -
Disadvantages: --
...****Royal Station Hotel-Newcastle****
Initially my friend and i booked into a Travelodge but we decided very quickly that we needed another hotel and this is the one we ended up staying in.
**Location/Getting there**
This hotel is located right next to the train station which is fantastic,nothing worse than a long journey followed by having to find a hotel.There is loads of places to eat nearby,plenty to see and do.The bus station is also quite nearby and would take about 10 minutes to walk too.
**Reception/staff**
The hotel looks really nice from the outside-a grand looking building.Reception looks really nice with big chandlers hanging from the ceiling and there are two lifts.Staff were nice and i had the option of paying straight away or when i checked out.
**Hotel/Room**
The room i stayed in was a twin room and it had...

Royal Park Hotel
Advantages: Beach Location
Disadvantages: Dirty
...Royal Park Hotel
When went her the year 2008 in August for 2 weeks.
The first impressions of the hotel is, it look lovely and clean.
Well I couldn't be more wrong.
The hotel is nice, but it is very tired looking.
It is situated on its own beach which is good, and they were always plenty of sun loungers, which was good considering the amount of people in the hotel. After a few days, I realised why. Which I will explain further down in the review.
Firstly, I will explain the layout of the hotel. You walked in the a very large reception area which high ceilings and winding staircase which when up to the second floor bedrooms which is where we were. There were also bedrooms downstairs.
When we arrived at 2.30 am in the morning we were all tired as you can imagine as we were delayed going out. We arrive to...

Royal Park Hotel, Elenite, Bulgaria
Advantages: The Aqua Park
Disadvantages: bad standard of service
...The nature in Elenite is really very,very beautiful. There is a big forest and great views. In the past Elenite was one of the best Holiday Villages in Bulgaria.
I was in Royal Park Hotel, Elenite in the autumn of 2009 and I don't want to go there again.
This is an enormous Hotel and the nature is hidden and lost behind the walls.
Restaurant (cantine) and food
There is no choice and the quality of the food is doubtful. Some of my colleagues had problems with the stomach. There are no more than two fresh salads.
You must look for a clean plate. The tomatoes for example are not for salad. These are cheap tomatoes used for producing preserved food and puree.
Rooms
The rooms are not cosy at all. The bathroom and the whole room are not clean. There is a mould in tha bathroom. Some of the rooms have a good view but if you don...

A green walk through four royal parks
Advantages: Free sightseeing, beautiful, sense of having done something worthwhile
Disadvantages: Needs good weather
...Visitors to London just tend to home in on specific sites (such as Buckingham Palace or the Tower), while those who live in or around the city, rarely get to actually see beyond Oxford Street or the West End. Its all too easy to go to London for a film or a show, or to visit an exhibition and to forget how much else there is to see there.
I’d like to describe in this opinion an afternoon I recently had in London which shows the sort of thing that’s so easily available in the city and costs you only the price of your food and drink. It involves a stroll through four of London’s Royal Parks, and would take a couple of hours if you dawdle.
Firstly, choose a fine sunny day to enjoy this at its best. Take a tube to high Street Kensington ( District and Circle line) and find somewhere to eat and drink. This won...

The Royal Wee
Advantages: Easy toclean
Disadvantages: My son removes wee defender
...My son?s Royal Throne
I bought my son a royal potty from Argos after visiting a friend when he was one year old and Although I considered him to be to young to consider potty training I did want him to have a potty around so that it was a familiar item.
What is the Royal Potty?
It is a potty that appears to be more comfortable than a normal potty as it is shaped liked a throne with arms and a back. It also has a splash protector at the front designed for little boys more than girls. It also has an additional function that is a fanfare sound when the child passes urine that is activated by the sensor. It is made with plastic that is easy to wipe. It also came with a sticker reward chart
My experience
First experience
When I first bought the potty we were living in temporary accommodation so I...

5 stars for the 4 star Royal York hotel
Advantages: Great location, every need taken care of
Disadvantages: Price!
...I recently had a chance to stay at this rather lovely 4 star hotel in York. My husband is involved with a medical company and for their AGM this year they stayed at The Royal York with a meal at the nearby (if you call 40 minuets on a coach) Castle Howard. All very posh and normally way above my means of expense (for the general person attending this function think doctor, surgeon, well paid researcher), however as hubby does work for them they paid for most of the trip (we had to pay £26 in total, what a great deal!).
Arrival
--------
The hotel is situated next to York train station and has a large car park so it?s convenient to drive too. The hotel is about 5 minuets walk away from the centre of York where there are loads of shops from the normal high street chains to antique and art shops.
You are met at reception by...

The Royal Albion Hotel, Brighton
Advantages: great location, cheap, nice rooms, excellent food
Disadvantages: no parking, quite dated
...a great service with a smile. The only downside was that the tables were a bit too close together, but this wasn't that big a problem.
I have read a number of reviews about the Royal Albion and some have been not to complentary about it, complaing the décor was very dated and their stay was quite unpleasant. I however disagree with these views and thought the hotel to be perfectly adequate for a stay in Brighton. The location was excellent, the room nice and the food on offer was splendid. I would certainly recommend it and will be staying there again on my next trip to the south coast. The only problem with the hotel was that it doesn't have its own car park which would be a problem for elderly guests as it's a ten minute walk to the nearest car park and the parking is quite expensive, however this is a minor issue really. For a three star...

Royal York Hotel, York
Advantages: Beautiful surroundings, leisure faclities
Disadvantages: slightly expensive
...My partner and I stayed in this hotel for two nights very recently. We had originally booked into the York Ibis but I decided to book this hotel as a surprise for him and cancel the Ibis - and I'm glad I did. I researched quite a few hotels in York but this one seemed to have the grandeur, facilities and central location I was looking for - and it had a spa!
Originally named the Royal Station Hotel, the hotel was opened in the 1878 and was owned by the Northeastern Railway Company, the purpose of the hotel being to disguise the train station which is behind it. Although named the Royal Hotel, no member of royalty has actually stayed here. The hotel is built on an old Roman cemetery and there have been excavations, uncovering roman remains.
~~~First Impressions~~~
Upon driving into the car park of this beautiful Victorian...
The Royal Oak's Home
Advantages: Historic house with friendly staff
Disadvantages: Very limited disabled access to house.
...During the Civil War, when King Charles II's enemies (Cromwell's Parliamentarians) won the battle of Worcester in 1651, he needed somewhere to hide. This is one of the homes where the inhabitants helped him. While in fear of searches being made of the house, Charles II hid in a now famous oak tree in the grounds, after which a lot of pubs where named The Royal Oak.
The original oak no longer survives but its descendant does, and saplings with a Certificate of Authenticity can be brought for £9.99. (As our garden isn't big enough to have an oak tree grow in it without risking the roots causing damage to buildings, we weren't tempted by this offer.)
When we first arrived at the house, we were firstly greeted by ducks in the free car park, which is next to their pond. No doubt they were hoping we had a picnic to share. We met...
Scandalous royal goings-on
Advantages: Interesting tale of the royal family in the 18th century
Disadvantages: None - as long as you are interested in the subject
...? let alone responsibility. Edward, Duke of York, was a pleasure-loving, extravagant young man whose illness and death at the age of 28 were almost certainly the result of too much good living. The longer-lived William, Duke of Gloucester and Henry, Duke of Cumberland, both had a roving eye and made secret marriages below their station, thus driving the King and his ministers to bring about the Royal Marriage Act of 1772 (still in force to this day), designed to prevent any more unsuitable royal matches.
Yet the most scandalous one of all was Caroline Matilda, whose unhappy saga dominates much of the book. To be fair to her, she was treated very badly. Barely out of the schoolroom before she was married off in her teens to the schizophrenic if not insane King Christian VII of Denmark, she then found out that her husband cared little...
