Ask many travellers what their favourite travel guides are, and a good percentage are likely to say the DK Eyewitness Travel series. And just a glance at Brazil will show you why these books are held in such high esteem. As the flash at the bottom of the jacket says, these are the guides that show you what others only tell you, and it is that strikingly eye-catching (and utilitarian) format that really makes the series special. Take, for instance, the two pages here on the Parque do Ibirapuera: there is a colour layout of the grounds of the park, with colour miniphotos studded around the central image; the Hotel Unique, with its strange half-melon structure, the Oca do Ibirapuera, an amazing dome designed by Oscar Niemeyer which hosts the city's major international art exhibitions, and the giant Cleopatra's needle built to honour victims of political injustice. And these are only a handful of the highlights of the two pages which is typical of the entire book. Of course, Brazil has much more to offer than most holiday destinations: apart from the beaches, nightlife and the national parks, there some of the best galleries and museums in the world along with, it goes without saying, carnival. And the world's most famous carnival is treated to all the attention here the traveller could wish (as is soundtrack of carnival the indelible sound of samba). Particularly useful here are the walks, scenic routes and thematic tours. If you're planning a trip to Brazil, you need look no further than this. --Barry Forshaw.

International Travel Map of Santiago. A general purpose tourist travel map of Santiago, showing the roads and places of interest in the city centre. The coverage extends from the Estacion Central in the south-west, to the Parque Metropolitano and Las Condes district in the north-east. Features identified on the mapping include tourist sites such as museums, scenic lookouts and shopping centres, public facilities, hospitals, police stations, post offices, and traffic-free zones. The railway system, subways and bus termini are indicated. A diagramatic plan of the Santiago Metro system, and a map of the area around Santiago to Valparaiso are both displayed as insets, along with a street index.
Advantages: Everyone can eat from a different restaurant in the same place! Disadvantages: It i a bit fast foodish but plenty of choice
Westfield Shopping Centre
In the large Westfield shopping centre in Derby on the second level is a large area with several eating options around a large number of table and seats. This means that you can sit with a group of friend s in the same seating area and all eat different foods from different stalls of mini shops which I think is a great idea.
WHAT CAN I EAT HERE?
Advantages: It is Ronan, 1 or 2 good tracks. Disadvantages: To many to list.
...and is at a much slower pace than the first track, it is a steady rhythmic song with Ronan Keating singing along to guitar and synthesised backing. It is not a song that stands out on the album but does have a nod to the album title ?it is not the destination it?s the ride? in the lyrics. Ronans voice is quite inoffensive and listenable.
?If Tomorrow Never Comes ? 3.35?
Another steady track that...
Advantages: A well enacted reminder of a historical episode that should not be forgotten Disadvantages: Some prefer not to remember!
...of the Dirty War, some "prominent" prisoners were freed and allowed to leave Argentina.
I only wish to point out that recently declassified State Department documents, (obtained by the National Security Archive under the Freedom of Information Act), show that in October 1976, Henri Kissinger (who was then Secretary of State of the USA) and other high ranking US officials not only gave their full support...
