The Godfather: Part II review

Advantages: Engaging, immersive, great script
Disadvantages: May be too violent for some people

...The Godfather: Part II is the second installment in the Godfather saga, chronicling the life and times of the Corleone family. Directed by Francis Ford Coppola and co-written with Mario Puzo, this film won 6 academt awards, including best picture and best supporting actor for Robert De Niro. A noticeable difference with this film is that it presents two parallel storylines. One involves the now head of the Corleone family, Michael (Al Pacino), from 1958 to 1959 as he tries to expand the family's business by opening up a casino in Las Vegas, the other is a flashback showing his father, Vito "Don" Corleone from his childhood in Sicily to his founding of the Corleone crime family in New York. Hostel part two - Twice as bad!

Advantages: quite short!
Disadvantages: hmmm!

...must confess, however, that I had my reservations. The first film was unique, and self contained. What could they do to improve on it? It seems to be, that Eli Roth has a singular vision. A vision that, though once remarkable, has now become dull and boring. His inability to look around the box, has led him to have a much shorter career than he should. He should have taken more time creating hostel part two, or else not have bothered with a sequel at all. The plot, which is thinner than Homer Simpsons' hair, is basically the exact same one from the first film. The events of the film, are 'similar, but not as scary. The acting is perhaps slightly worse, and all he has done to try and make this a film in its own right, is give it an all female lead cast, and provided a Taratinoesque twist, at the end. Be part of the Apple revolution

Disadvantages: nothing

...the iPhone is a touch screen mobile so that once you have slid your wee pinky over the on bar you can select several of the key features: Telephone iPod Internet Picture Browser Battery life and call reception are good and the built in MP3 is just top notch. I was happy to pay £269 for my 8GB iPhone but would pay double if I had to. Texting is a bit of a problem because the touch screen keyboard is a bit on the small side but overall this is the future and I'm glad I part of the Apple revolution. Recommended to all. It knocks the spots of Nokia, Samsung, Sony and Sagem....

HOT SHOTS PART DEUX - BIG REVIEW FOR BIG COMEDY

..."Intro to review" Are you kidding me! There is not one review so far of this fantastic spoof movie. Nowadays you get crap thrown around the movie business such as epic movie, date movie and meet the spartans. Hot Shots and specifically Hot Shots Part Deux are the perfect spoof movies. Why??...Because it has a great storyline and a fantastic cast. Writers of spoof films should go back to the drawing boards, sit down and watch this film several times, over and over again until they realise where they have gone wrong on all these crappy spoof movies they have been making. Advantages: It's Idlewild - you're not going to go too far wrong
Disadvantages: It's not quite up to their previous high standards

The album fairly explodes into existence with You Held The World In Your Arms - not the only speedier number on the album, fans of earlier material such as the Captain mini-LP will be glad to hear. Any great band has a sound of their own; distinguishing features which set it apart from others. The combination of detached punk vocal, exuberant guitar chords, soaring keyboard, pounding drum rhythm, decent lyrics and a tangible melody make this an irristible song, an inspiring opener. Creature Comforts Series 2 Part 1

Advantages: Very Clever Animation
Disadvantages: Few Real Laughs

...the best ones are developed into the animations. On occasion these are funny, and by funny I mean laugh out loud funny. But for the most part they are merely slightly amusing anecdotes on various, mostly bland, subject matter and observations on life. More often than not it is the background characters that will do something that makes you smile by doing something funny, but ultimately the laughs just aren't there consistently enough for me. There is no doubt that it is very clever, and the idea behind to whole thing is an original one but after the first few interviews you begin to wonder when the laughs will begin. For example there is a Welsh Dog, not sure of the breed but it is one of those dogs with folds of skin, well it just isn't funny at all, not in any way shape or form. Perhaps it's me. Perhaps my sense of humour is flawed, but...
