Review of La Parva

Skiing/Snowboarding from Santiago.

Advantages: different unspoiled powder relaxed
Disadvantages: mid-priced

...About 2 hours east of Santiago are the ski resorts of La Parva, El Colorado and Valle Nevado. All 3 resorts are connected (you can ski between them if you have the right pass) and there are plenty of runs and some world-class off-piste. You can make the trip up and down from Santiago in a day but its worth taking two (at least) if you can ski or snowboard. As well as the resorts, there is a small town called Farrellones located next to the resort of El Colorado. You can walk from Farrellones to the lowest lift at el colorado, from where the lift attendants will let you on if you promise to buy a lift pass when you get off - at the resort proper. Be warned though - it's a button lift. You can hire ski and snowboard equipment at any of the resorts, but neither equipment hire nor lift passes come cheap. Ski-ing is very much for the elite...

*OMG, I have it all *

...I bought this with the voucher I earnt from dooyoo and thought it was about time I reviewed this. Honestly, I kinda jumped on the bandwagon with this CD. It seemed like everyone was talking about so I decided to buy to see what all the fuss was about and I'm so glad I did. History of the Kaiser Chiefs They are a band from Leeds who formed in the early months of 2003 but this wasn't the start of their music love. Before they formed the Kaiser Chiefs, the members used to be in a garage rock band called Parva but when their label dropped them, they decided to become a more post pop/punk/rock band with an indie slant. They became popular in early 2005. They released their debut album, Employment on the 7th of March 2005. So they are quite a new band but given a chance I think they could be big. I mean this is only their debut album...

...at High Brooms Boys' School. For the first time ever the third and fourth years were going to go to Calais for a day as their annual outing. We didn't even go by coach, it was a train and ferry job, and a very long day for me. They insisted on teaching us some of the language, so we could survive the day. Not one single pupil was sold to white slave-traders in the market square, and no one jumped off the ship because they heard the wrong instructions in French, so I suppose we all did okay. I passed my 11+ exam and went to grammar school. I enjoyed French, but always wanted to do German. In order to be able to do German you had to be good at French in the first year, and good at French and Latin in the second. I can now quote, word for word, "Ecce! In pictura est puella parva. I was then asked if I recieved council or housing benefit. Well my partner of 18 years had recently left me for another woman and the paperwork for the missive, the housing benefit or the council tax hadn't yet come through and I explained this. I was then told that I couldn't recieve emergency treatment and was given a number to ring to locate some other emergency veterinary service. The number I rang played a recorded message telling me that the admin office (100's of miles away, in fact in another country) was closed and to ring back in the morning. So here I am left here to watch my dog and 11 remaining puppies die a slow death. I'm not over...
