Don't pass on El Paso

Advantages: Fantastic hotel.
Disadvantages: They made me go home !!

...This review is about my holiday at the El Paso Hotel, Port Aventura, Spain in October 2008. My holiday was booked through First Choice Holidays and for my husband, myself and our 12 year old son for a weeks half board stay with unlimited access to the park, the cost, including flights and transfers was £1200. We all had a wonderful time, I won't go into the park details as I have already written a review on that aspect of Port Aventura - this review is purely about our stay in the hotel. We flew into Reus airport and it only took 10 - 15 minutes to get to our hotel. Before I go any further, let me explain about Halloween at Port Aventura. Theres Nothing Crunchier than Old El Paso Nachos

Advantages: Great crunch, not to spicy, great taste
Disadvantages: None

...The Box The box is easy to spot as it is bright yellow, with a picture of a bowl of nachos on the bottom. It has a roof on the top of the box with Old El Paso since 1938 written underneath. It then tells you on the right hand side what the kit contains and what to add. It also has the weight of the product which is 520g and the nutritional information for half a box. On the side of the box are the ingredients, full nutritional information, address, phone number and website. On the back are more pictures of different ways to eat the nachos, information about the product and how to cook them. Nutritional Information This is for the people who like to know how bad there food really is. This information is just the nachips and nacho topping. I Wouldn't El Paso These!

Advantages: Cheap, easy to make, very tasty
Disadvantages: Other ingredients such as cheese, sour cream not included

...I am quite partial to Mexican food and was very pleased when I found the Old El Paso Nacho dinner kit at my local Tesco. Cost As I mentioned, I buy these kits from Tesco and here its costs £2.50 for the kit. There are other Tesco's own kits which are nearly half the price but I guess you are paying that bit extra for the brand name of Old El Paso. How Many People Will The Kit Cater For? My girlfriend and I share this kit and it does us both for a main meal of an evening. If you are having a dinner party, then these kits could be made up and shared between several people as a snack food. If you are using the kit as a starter for a meal, then the contents of the kits could probably be used to give around 4-6 people a starter. I love food, eating in, eating out it makes no difference I?m totally in my element when surrounded by food. Being vegetarian I often find that most meals worked best made form scratch and tend to stay clear of many packet, ready made meals as quite frankly I can do it better myself! Old El Paso - Naughty but Nice Nachos

Advantages: Very quick and easy to make, very tasty, can easily be spiced up

...PACKAGING Old El Paso Nacho kit comes in a bright yellow box, with a red top. There is a small picture of cacti with mountains in the background which I am assuming is for a Mexican theme seeing as Nachos are considered to be a Mexican dish. I'm not a great fan of Mexican food, but this really looked appealing to me, so I thought I would give it a go. These Enchilada's only take about 25 minutes to cook, and are certainly worth the wait. Enchiladas

...The latest Mexican meal that I tried from the Old El Paso range was their Enchiladas mix and I have to admit it has now become my favourite of their products. An enchilada is basically a corn tortilla, rolled around a filling and covered with a chilli pepper sauce and cheese. The great thing about them is that they can basically be filled with any ingredients that you want although popular varieties in restaurants tend to include beans and cheese, meat or vegetables. The Old El Paso kit gives you the basics with which to make your Enchiladas. I had always been a bit sceptical about Mexican food from a box but I have to admit that these Old El Paso kits are great and very handy. Of course, it is easy to make your own from scratch but I tend to keep these kits in the cupboard as a back up in case I don't know what to make for dinner...

Quick and Easy Enchiladas!

...My Mum recently sent me a goodie parcel, just to make sure I'm managing and still eating! One of the things she put in the parcel was an Old El Paso Enchilada Dinner Kit. I have used these kits before and really like them, so I was pretty pleased! The kit comes in a square, yellow, cardboard box with 'Old El Paso' written in large red letters on the front, then 'Original Enchiladas' written underneath that, and a large picture of some yummy enchiladas cooked and ready to eat. Inside the pack is eight soft corn tortillas, enchilada spice mix and tomato sauce (which is more like a thin tomato puree). ...Fajita's are one of my favourite meals, not only do they taste fantastic, but if you buy an Old El Paso Fajita kit, then they are an extremely easy meal to make, especially if you have people coming round, it is as easy to make these for, say, ten people as it is to make them for just two. Packaging The Old El Paso Fajita kit is easily recognisable, as it is in a box apporximately 10" square and is decorated in their trade mark yellow background with a row of red Spanish style, roof tiles across the top.
