Pass the Bomb!
Advantages: great game, really gets you thinking
Disadvantages: you can be made to look v.stupid!
...I don't know about you lot, but it seems to me that every time we have family over for Christmas or New Year, after dinner we end up playing some sort of board game! This is ok to start with, but does tend to get rather dull after a while. On boxing day of the Christmas just gone, yes you've guessed it - we ended up playing a board game. A member of the family brought it round and it was called Pass the Bomb! Sounds ominous I know (don't worry its not a real bomb!). Well, it was great fun and very different to the usual type of games which go on for hours and people lose interest.
The game starts by drawing a card from the pack which is shown to all players. Each card has letters on it and can be two or more letters. A dice is then rolled which tells all players whether the letters shown by the card must be at the start, middle or end...

The Simpsons: Backstage Pass review
Advantages: Amazing writing, hilarious
Disadvantages: None
...The Simpsons: Backstage Pass is a collection of four episodes featuring some of the best bands of the past and the present. The four episodes are "Homerpalooza", "A Tale of Two Springfields", "The Otto Show" and "Homer's Barbershop Quartet".
"Homerpalooza" is one of my personal favourites and concerns Homer, who seems to be having a mid-life crisis, so he takes Bart and Lisa to the Hullabalooza festival where, through some bizarre coincidences that could only happen in The Simpsons, he gets to fulfill his rock star dreams by touring with the festival. The bands here are amazing, from classic rockers (Peter Frampton) to newer, indie rock (Sonic Youth, Smashing Pumpkins) and really shows the difference in musical tastes between then and when the show started, and also since Homer was a teenager as well.
"A Tale of Two Springfields...

To Roam aroun Rome by a Roma Pass!
Advantages: Queue jumping, don't have to worry about entrance fees
Disadvantages: Can not be cost effective
...The Roma Pass was something a work colleague mentioned to me, although she did not know the name just there was some card thing that gets you benefits.
So I looked up things to do in Rome and eventually came across the website for the Roma Pass through a link from another website. The Roma Pass website is: http://www.romapass.it/?l=en
The website gave me a great insight as to what the card was, there are 2 types of cards, so it explains what both offer and how much they cost.
The standard (red) Roma Pass costs 23 Euros, and the Roma & Piu (blue) Pass costs 25 Euro's.
The website goes on to have tabs for museums, events, a virtual tour, information, download and buy. I opted not to buy ours online, and decided I would get them when there.
The website sells the cards with this strap line "The Cards that offers you...

Pass me that Pass!!!
Advantages: Superb value, all Tussauds attractions included, great discounts, Now Unlimited Entry!!!
Disadvantages: Up-front expense
...As of the October 2007 the Tussauds Annual Pass(TAP) has been replaced by the Merlin Annual Pass.
The Tussauds Group was bought out by the Merlin Entertainments Group - this group includes the Sea-Life Centres, the Dungeons and other parks such as LegoLand. The Tussauds Group has ceased to exist and along with it so has some of the advantages of the TAP. Due to some very poor Customer Service I will not be renewing my Annual Pass.
Thank you to all the people that reviewed this little blog-like review!!
"Why are you reviewing an entrance ticket??" You might ask, well quite simply it's the best value ticket around - and thats what this site is all about - isn't it?
GREAT VALUE
The Tussauds Group Annual Pass is essentially 52 entrance tickets all stored on one 'credit' card. Unless you can get it at a discount then it...

Pass The Bomb - Careful It Might Go Off
Advantages: Improves Vocabulary, Family Torture At Christmas
Disadvantages: Sweet Mother Of God It's Annoying
...I was introduced to the game by The Blonde's parents at a large family gathering on Boxing Day this year.
I used to like those people.
Pass The Bomb - The Explosive Game That Will Blow Your Mind... No, No it won't. No really, it won't.
The premise is incredibly simple. Start the timer (Conveniently shaped like a bomb; see what they did there!) and draw a card with a selection of letters on that must be contained, in that order, within the word you put forward. When the "Bomb Goes Off" the person left holding it is out. Also forbidden is repetition and making words up, they will also lead to you being out. Which apparently is a bad thing...
So, the length of the game depends on 3 things. When will the timer go off? Can you actually remember the words you used to pick up on repetition and vocabulary knowledge (Although...

Breakheart pass
Advantages: Good Adaptation of a MacLean novel
Disadvantages: Film a bit grainy
...trouble with a supposed prisoner, Levi Calhoun, on the loose, and indians within its walls.
As I previously said it keeps close to the book, although the ending is different in execution if not outcome. I would recommend this as a good film to be purchased at £5, and is a good enough watch, even if I personally still prefer the original book.
The only downside from the DVD is the limited nature of Extras, not surprising for a 1975 film, and there is only the Original Theatrical trailer, as an added bonus. Also in some of the scenes the film does look slightly grainy but can be ignored especially with some of the scenery that is filmed as the trains pass through some snowy mountains....

The Pass
Advantages: Nice deisgn
Disadvantages: Needs more content
...OK. You are bored, the kids are bored, even the goldfish looks a little jaded. So, what are you going to do about it? Feed the goldfish (that's his idea of a good time!) and as for you and the rest of your family? Visit www. the-pass.co.uk.
The first thing you will notice about www. the-pass.co.uk, is not only is it an extremely interesting website to visit and use, it is also extremely easy to navigate, too.
And to be fair to www. the-pass.co.uk, that's not always the case with other websites, is it? Some of them are designed by people who want to show off their skills or who are totally inept at good website design. Of course, some of the websites that I have visited have apparently been designed by people who, although totally inept, want to show off their "skills."
Not so with www. the-pass.co.uk! This web site is user...

And so it came to pass - a Himalayan Pitstop
Advantages: Spectacular Views
Disadvantages: Pukey roads
...I have long had a weakness for high places and am always mentally lifted by standing at the highest point and looking out across a fantastic panoramic view. However, my love of a good view is matched only by the weakness of my stomach when faced with too long in the back of a car on a road full of hairpin bends.
We had left our hotel in Thimphu after a thankfully rather bland breakfast and had stupidly not thought about what lay ahead of us. Getting anywhere in Bhutan by road is an arduous business and within 30 minutes of leaving the city, I was starting to struggle to keep my breakfast down as we wound back and forth round rough bendy roads. By the time we reached the Dochu La (or Dochu Pass), the highest point on the road between Thimpu and Punakha, I was ready to curl up in a ball and die. I couldn't wait to leap out of the car...

Merlin Annual Pass - now has restrictions
Advantages: Unlimited 12 month access to the attractions
Disadvantages: It has restrctions in February, August, October and December (2009 so far)
...Introduction:
I heard of Merline Annual Pass from the Tesco clubcard deals and friends.
From our friends' past experience, it is very good value for money as you can jump the queues to some major attractions in London such as the London Eye. Without the pass, you may queue for hours. Based on our friends recommendation I took the plunge for our family.
How much does it cost?

Individual £150 £120 £100
Family of 3 £330 £264 £225

Passing your driving test!
Advantages: Freedom! The end of all those lessons, where to go now..!?
Disadvantages: Very expensive, nerve wracking, and frustrating!
...!
Passing
~*~*~*~*~
When the examiner told me I had passed I couldn?t believe it, I was so happy! He actually looked genuinely pleased for me as well which was nice ? he was actually a nice man, which I think helped calm my nerves a lot.
When you pass you?ll be given a certificate to prove it, and then will take your provisional and it will then be replaced with your nice, new, shiny, pink full license ? woo hoo!
It?s definitely worth all the effort, and it?s great to finally have some freedom, although I must admit the first time I got into the car on my own I was absolutely terrified ? it felt strange on my own, knowing I was responsible for making all the decisions!
Don?t go crazy when you pass, drive as if you would have done on your test. You?ll only be a good driver through experience and there are obviously going to be...
