MERTON HOTEL, ST SAVIOUR JERSEY

Advantages: lovely food, polite staff, great swimming pool

...My husband and I have just spent 5 nights at the Merton Hotel in St Saviour in Jersey, Channel Islands. We stayed from Sundary 2 September 2007 to Friday 7 September 2007 and we had a great stay. The Merton Hotel is owned by Seymour Hotels and is a 3 star hotel. Jersey have their own system of rating hotels which is different to the UK, but the ratings are of a very high standard. We stayed in a double ensuite room and we had free half board for the price of bed and breakfast. We booked through Condor Ferries and took our own car and paid a total of £769 for the trip (£79 of which was for the car ferry travel). OUR BEDROOM +++++++++++++++ Our room was plainly and pleasantly decorated, with chrome light fittings everywhere. Jean Paul Got To Have!

Advantages: Great long lasting smell, nice bottle
Disadvantages: A little more expensive than others on the market

...I was bought this aftershave for Christmas this year by my girlfriend. I liked it so much; I thought I would share my opinion of it with Ciao. Packaging Jean Paul Gaultier 'Le Male' comes in a silver tin with the 'Jean Paul Gaultier' label embossed on the front. You can pull the bottom of the tin off, and the bottle of aftershave sits in a stand on the base, which is attached to the base of the tin. Inside the top section of the tin is a white plastic section which holds the top of the bottle square inside the tin, once the bottle is back inside which stops it from rattling around and possibly being smashed inside. The bottle itself is typical of Jean Paul Gaultier aftershave and comes in their famous body shaped bottle. This particular bottle is in the theme of a sailor. Paul Merton is Fab, as is the show!

Advantages: Great presenter, very fun, good concept
Disadvantages: Occasionally poor guests

...Room 101 is a really well thought out show with a hilarious presenter. Paul Merton really does put the spark into Have I Got News For You and he does it in his new series too. The idea is where the guests must talk about an item for around five minutes which they want abolished. If Paul Merton feels that his guests reasons are fair, then he puts into Room 101, if not, it remains out. It is good that they use the same guest for the whole 30 minutes as many programs similar to this try to pack in too many guests for the time allowed. The show is hilariously funny and is the only part of the comedy zone at the moment that I personally feel is worth watching. My only minor criticism is that the guests sometimes, are not very well known although they are always very funny and if they weren't, Paul Merton would be enough for me!...

Advantages: Some fantastic songs that benefitted from a live atmosphere.
