Advantages: Fast, built in WI-FI, Nice HD Graphics, 15 in 1 memory card reader and portable media bay.
Disadvantages: Too much like a PC and not enougth like a media device

Core processer giving it the higher clock speed needed by HTPC?s. The higher clock speed allows programs like Photoshop and I-Tunes to run correctly without lag and generally giving it a media heart. It?s not the smallest in its range but that allows it to have a nice sized graphics card init. ...I purchased my HP Pavilion Laptop (model number dv6625em) in January 2008 after my previous laptop finally stopped working (and was beyond repair after 4 years of use and multiple failing components). I did a lot of research in order to find the best laptop at a reasonable price (I had £500), because I have heard lots of horror stories about unreliable laptops, or ones that are unpleasant to use. I chose the HP dv6625em because it matched my requirements and was available from John Lewis. They have a good name as a retailer and provided a free 2-year guarantee, which seemed sensible. The Very Sexy HP Pavilion

...Virgin have gone down in my expectations and i am currently thinking of leaving them. When i first joined virgin media it was called telewest, i signed up to a large tv package and the internet at a cost of 40 pounds per month. This worked fine untill virgin media took over, Although they did bring better and more chanels to the table the prices went up and the customer service went down. When virgin took over they rang me to say i would be better off if i got the whole package which included xl tv, 20gb broadband and a phone line with free weekend calls as it would take my bill down to 35 pound a month, i also pay for disney cinemagic aswell so it would basically be taking 5 pound off my bill which i thought was fair enough. Since then the bill has went up and up and up! I still have the same package to which i had 4 years...

...Virgin Media took over Cable (not sure exactly when), They offer sevices such as Broadband, tv and the phone, their bills are on a monthly basis. The reason I chose Virgin I signed up with Virgin approximately 6 months ago, the reason I decided to sign up with them is because my family are all customers of Virgin and I thought it would be cheaper on the phone calls, also I prefer the monthly bills rather than quarterly bills like with BT. Virgin Media - Getting better...

Advantages: Basic sky channels are back!, Some good VOD content, good unlimited internet packages
Disadvantages: VOD reliability not 100%, webmail reliability & mailbox size, customer service rather 'hit or miss'

...** Important News/Update (Edit) 16/11/08:- Ok so on Thursday the basic Sky channels finally returned to Virgin Media, at least for those of us who are on the higher TV packages (their included in the L and XL packages, which are the two most expensive packages, I believe), which was good news for me! now I can access Sky1, Sky2 and Sky3 (Sky3 is also available on Freeview), as well as Sky News and Sky Sports News and for people on the XL package, we also get Sky Arts and Sky Arts2 as well as Sky Real Lives, which is nice, so obviously im quite relieved and impressed with that. Microsoft Works (preparing documents), Sonic soft (burning and copying CD's & DVD's), Adobe reader (reading digital books), HP Photosmart Premier (organizing & editing photos), Cyberlink DVD (watching DVD movies), QuickPlay Direct (specially dedicated autoplay tool), Norton Antivirus 2006 (protection from internet threads - although license is only for 60 days), Help & Support (specially designed support for HP laptops). dc6552ea pavilion laptop

Advantages: the look, 2gb ram, dual core, media designs, dvd rw, lightscribe
Disadvantages: vista, no backwards support to XP, graphics chip, no boot disc but rather partitioned harddrive

...Ok so where do I start...The good. This laptop looks incredibly nice, it is one of the best looking laptops around I would say, the specs look really good for what you pay for it, 2gb RAM, 150gb hard drive, nVidia graphics (up to 559mb apprently), the display is amazing all in all a really nice looking laptop. The HP remote is really useful, i'm not entirely sure on the range of it but it works on IR usage so, so long as your are kinda close and pointing it at the right area it should do what you want it to. The remote also slides into the laptop next to the DVD drive so you won't lose it. The 5 in 1 card reader is also really useful, I use a variety of memory cards and they all work (i did have to get an adapter for my Memory stick duo however). The HP 'QuickPlay' software is much like Windows Media Center, but it works better...

Advantages: Beautiful setting and gorgeous food

Racecourse Park is now the centre of things each summer when the Northampton Balloon Festival comes to town - other than that, it's just a big open park.
