Pay 'very little' as you go
Advantages: very cheap calls and texts to other virgin mobile users
Disadvantages: Zilch
...I've been with Virgin Mobile for the past three years now. My sister introduced me to them as she had been with them even longer and was amazed at how low their prices were.
I have used Pay as you go with every phone I have had as if I were to go on contract, there would be no stopping me and the bill would be a huge amount. With Pay as you go at least you can monitor your spending and stop yourself spending money you havent got (in my case anyway!).
A bit of background on Virgin
--------------------------------------
Virgin Mobile launched its operations as a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) in November 1999. Virgin Mobile started as a joint venture between Virgin and T-Mobile. In January 2004, Virgin purchased from T-Mobile all of the shares that T-Mobile owned in Virgin Mobile.
Within a two years of Virgins launch...

ThreePay - The Pay As You Go Tariff From Three
Advantages: Great services, fairly good coverage, range of handsets
Disadvantages: Can be pricey.
...a handset on 3 but want the 3G technology, you can buy a handset on your preferred network with this technology, such as the O2 X4 and the Vodafone Live services also using third generation tech.
-Pressing the Triangle Key-
This key will firstly take you to Today on 3. This page is basically all the new stuff rounded up into one page to browse quickly, to access all the services you need to click on 'Go To Services.' The services links include Tunes and Pix, Music and News. There are around 11 services on 3 and they are all free to browse and you will have to confirm before doing anything that charges.
-Network Coverage-
Three claims that over 90% of the country is covered for 3G which seems true but if you are out of the video area, your phone will display a 2G logo instead, meaning you can only access Tunes and Pix, Games, My Trains...

O2 Pay as you go, PLUS free text messages
Advantages: Best pay as you go text messaging offer around
Disadvantages: you have to keep track of how many messages you send
...I have been a customer of O2 now for about two years, and find their pay as you go contracts very reasonable. I myself have one of the genie sim cards, where you get a choice offree text messages or free any network, any time minutes.
Since i have had the sim card i have taken advantage of the free text messages. where for ten pounds O2 give you 300 free messages, the amazing thing with this is that you still keep your ten pounds of credit to use on further messages or calls. O2 have recently introduced 500 free messages for 15 pounds, and 1000 messages for £20 (either that or i have only just found out about it). i strongly advise you calculate how many messages you send, or it can cost you more than it has to.
The O2 customer services are always helpful and always do everything they can to help you. i recently had my sim...

Broadband on the go or at home (O2 Mobile Broadband)
Advantages: Internet without a phone line
Disadvantages: Slow, Unreliable, low data allowance
...Due to BT?s stupid policy of not allowing Broadband through their Pay & Call line (even when there?s plenty of credit) the only way I could connect to the internet was to go down the mobile internet route. As a mobile internet connection is only as good as the mobile network signal I was left with the choice of either O2 or O2 and as I didn?t want to be tied into a contract I decided to go down the Pay As You Go route. Therefore this review is going to focus on my experience of using O2 Pay As You Go Mobile Internet.
To access the mobile internet I firstly needed to purchase a dongle, which cost a fairly reasonable £24.99 but did not come with a data allowance. Installation of the dongle was a fairly painless procedure, and once it was installed, Internet Explorer (yuck) opened and directed me to the O2 Mobile Broadband site where I...

Virgin Mobile Pay as You Go - I'll be sticking with these guys
Advantages: Great network coverage, good website, easy topups, choose you tariff
Disadvantages: Not many free rewards
...I have been with virgin mobile for several years now and am very pleased with them. They have brilliant coverage, the only place I have not got a signal before was in the middle of nowhere in Wales! They provide free voicemal which few providers seem to give you on pay as you go. I have never had any problems topping up and their tariffs seem reasonable though not cheap. Something I do really like is the option to switch between different tariffs which offer you better value for money depending on what you mostly use you phone for. They have a good website allowing you to view your most recent calls, texts and topups
The only thing is that they have never seemed too keen to give out free rewards such as free minutes or texts. However, recently I think this has been improving and I just have not been topping up enough to get...

Should be called Pay As You Go Textalot
Advantages: 300 free text messages & 1Mb free WAP
Disadvantages: customer services is expensive
...lisaleahjack has already provided a detailed review, which is why I searched out this deal in the first place, so I'll try not to repeat too much.
After my discoveries about ThreePay I was keen to find an alternative pay-as-you-go deal that better suited the way I use a mobile phone. O2's "online" deal sounded great, but knowing my luck I was expecting it not to be on the market anymore.
Thankfully I was wrong! A quick search of their website confirmed it was still available.
Now I needed to find a new phone (as my current mobile at 5+ years old has reached senility). Investigation at my local O2 stores was discouraging, pay-as-you-go phones can get expensive these days! Then someone mentioned Argos. Another quick search online and I found out that some of their O2 phone packages were half price, including the Seimens C65...

Thank you Rchard Branson
Advantages: Reliable service, no hidden charges, good reception, no pushy sales staff
Disadvantages: Limited choice of phones compared to rivals
...It was 1999 & although I had a company mobile phone I wasn't allowed to use it in my own time. I decided that a 'pay as you go' phone would be an ideal solution for my needs at weekends & in the evenings.
I visited the Vodafone shop in town to enquire about 'pay as you go'; I just got in the door when I was accosted by a spotty young lad keen to do business. 'How does pay as you go work' I asked. 'Its simple' he said, 'If you buy as an example, £15.00 of talk time you'll get £10.00 of calls' 'Excuse me' I interrupted, 'What about the missing £5.00?'
'Ah, that's a service charge sir which you have to pay for that' I confirmed with him that if I decided to purchase £15.00 of talk time on a regular basis, after I'd given Vodafone £90.00 they would have kept £30.00 for services charges. 'That's right sir' he said.
Before he got...

Are you still a virgin mobile virgin!?
Advantages: Cheap calls and texts to other virgin mobile users
Disadvantages: Not everyone has a virgin mobile but they should!
...check your airtime, just dial 789 and you get told! It's as simple as that! Or you can go on virginmobile.com and click on your account to check (you need to register for this)
** Topping up **
Go to any good newagents or supermarket and ask for a £5, £10 or £20 top up and you'll be given a card to scratch a panel off the back to reveal a long digit number or you'll be given a till receipt with this number on. Then just dial 789 and select top up, then type in the long digit number and your done!
Credit or debit cards can also be used to top up your phone, just register these either by phone or online.
You can also top up at ATM's by selecting the green top up logo (selected banks only)
** Virgin bundles **
Virgin bundles are designed for you to save money, they're a mixture of minutes, texts and WAP usage and you pay your money...

02 - See What You Can Do - Or Can't
Advantages: Simple Tariff, Sometimes You Can Get Free Internet.
Disadvantages: Customer Care Charge You for Calling.
...02 have been around for many years now, i got my first phone in March 2003 and it was on 02 Pay as you go original. I will be explaining this tariff and a bit about 02 as well in this review.
~02 Pay As You Go~
Pay As You Go means you are free of a contract and you pay for the phone all at once for example if you buy a £139 phone. You pay the full £139 up-front. For Credit on your phone you pay £10 for a top-up card. You can do this whenever you want and how often you want.
~Price Plans~
For the first 30 days you can access 02 Active (GPRS) for free and get a game / ringtone worth £2.50 free if it is compatible with your model and 5 free picture messages.
From 02 to landline, daytime weekday calls are 35p per min and evening calls are 10p per min. Weekend calls at anytime are 10p per min.
From 02 to 02 mobiles they are 20p...

how lo can u go with Three pay as you go
Advantages: the best wap service, easy top up options
Disadvantages: bulky phones,confusing tariffs
...-Bught mine off the Carphone Warehouse
-The coverage is ok even in remote areas(I drove to Edinburgh with the signal being at least 2 bar for the entire journey,im from london by the way)
-Had difficulties with messaging twice since i had the phone two months ago(it wouldnt sent)
-The wap service is considered the best so far but a bit slow during peak hours(i spent everyday browsing it)
-Easy top up options. The wap service enables you to top up without even going to the shop. All you need is a credit card.
3pay tariff
-The most confusing tariff of all(I called them up and the operator gladly explained it to me but it took him 1/2 hour, literally!)
-The tariff are one of the cheapest in all pay as you go network(i did some research before buying mine)
i'll explain briefly on how the tariff works
for example every month,you...
