Change the World - Pay it Forward

Advantages: Somewhat original story, original concept, great performances, touching, makes you think
Disadvantages: A bit over sentimental for some (you'll need to be armed with tissues!)

...- Introduction - I first heard of the movie Pay It Forward through an interview with my favourite music group, the Backstreet Boys. My favourite member Brian has mentioned a few times in interviews that this was at least one of his favourite movies and otherwise, I hadn't heard of it. It came out in 2000 but I don't remember hearing anything about it on TV at the time (maybe I was busy then, I don't know) and so I guess it sort of slipped under my radar. Anyway, I was recently looking for DVDs of movies to purchase for watching over the festive holiday season and when I came across this title, I thought, from the little I'd heard of it, it sounded like it would make for quite a good movie to watch over Christmas and New Year. Amazon.co.uk are selling it pretty cheap at the moment, for £5.97 (plus about £1.24 for regular p&p costs...

PayPal makes online transactions safe and easy.

Advantages: easy to monitor
Disadvantages: if you're an ebay member, you have to deal with 2 transaction fees

...I think the reviews on here saying they get a check every month are either lying, or they directly work for the company and they get their checks for that, not reading ads. The one guy (mike @hits4pay) probably should have left a different email, because that looks fishy! I have been with Hits4pay for over a year now and I still havent reached my 25 bucks! I realize having referrals makes a difference, but at 1 cent for them and 2 cents for me- it still takes forever! It would be ok if these guys were telling the truth about getting ads to read every day, but I sure havent. I might get a couple a week. Sometimes more, but the only way I get more than 5 is to let them build up for a couple weeks- and then they try to say my email isnt accepting their mail and they suspend my account. Advantages: Emotionally intense. Extremely well acted.
Disadvantages: Plot rather cheesy and saccharine at times.

Pay 'very little' as you go

Advantages: very cheap calls and texts to other virgin mobile users
Disadvantages: Zilch

...I've been with Virgin Mobile for the past three years now. My sister introduced me to them as she had been with them even longer and was amazed at how low their prices were. I have used Pay as you go with every phone I have had as if I were to go on contract, there would be no stopping me and the bill would be a huge amount. AlertPay - Potential Customer Warning.

...Until recently I hadn't heard of AlertPay, until I was forced to join same (on July 17th) in order to transact a payment with an organisation (based in the US) - who used them as a payment intermediary. Suffice it to say, I'll not go into detail here with regard to the my encounter with this outfit, however in all my experience in business, I've never had the misfortune to deal with an organisation run on such incompetence and ineptitude. Their service is utterly abysmal and it's pretty obvious that they don't give a damn about their overseas customers and now (thanks to them) I've lost a contract with the above American organisation and (as a consequence) suffered acute embarrassment to boot. If this company had been based within the UK, the Financial Services Authority would have shut them down a long time ago. Given...
