Should I buy A computer with DVD?

Advantages: You can watch films whenever you like
Disadvantages: you need a larger monitor for better quality

...I recently purchased a computer and decided to get a DVD with it. I didnt really know whether I would use it or whether it would be any good as I hadnt seen a dvd before!!. I purchased 2 films, the mummy and Titianic on DVD to try, and was really pleased with the results, the quality of sound and picture was brilliant and you can instantly skip to any part of the film without having to wait. Also included on them are extras such as behind the scenes and music, games etc, which you dont get on a video. It is a pleasure to watch as long as you have a decent sized monitor!!, so I would definately recommend getting one in your computer as they dont cost a lot extra....

I have never used another DVD watching program in my life, because I haven't had the need, so I better say that I can't recommend this over any of the other DVD players out there. I can recommend it as a good product, but maybe, just maybe, there is another DVD viewer out there that is even better! So what does PowerDVD do exactly? First if all the simple explanation. You take a DVD movie from those oh so slick new cases (better than a chunky tape anyway). Press the button to open the DVD drawer, insert the shiny gold DVD and close the drawer! ...The LaCie DVD+/-RW Double Layer Drive USB 2.0 is a very reliable and strongly built machine. I've had it for a few months now and it hasnt let me down yet. I use it weekly to back up my photography files onto dvd and various other documents and it does the job perfectly. Ok, its no speed demon, it took a good 1/2 hour to burn footage of my 1 year old nephew through iDVD but it got the job done and as long as you have the time, its no problem at all.
