==Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games (Wii)==
Advantages: variety of games to play
Disadvantages: Slow loading
...Mario & Sonic at the olympic games was the first game i bought after getting a Wii for christmas.
I personally think that it is an excellent first game to get for the Wii. You can happily play for hours and hours becuase of the wide variety of events you can play. These events include;
*"Swimming"
*"Archery"
*"Running"
*"Hurdles"
*"Long jump"
*"Triple jump"
*High jump"
*"Pole vault"
*"Hammer throw"
*"Javeline throw"
*"Epée"
*"Trampoline"
*"Vault"
*"Rowing"
*"Skeet"
*"Tennis"
So as you can see by this list you have a wide variety to choose from but you also have the options of unlocking different games, this can be done by breaking records and so on. Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games is fun for all the family to enjoy because it has a multiplayer option of upto 4 people. You also get to choose from all your favourite...

Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games (Wii)
Advantages: Great fun, realistic actions
Disadvantages: Will tire you out easily
...During the 1990s, if you had a games console you would have probably been in one of two camps: Sega or Nintendo. I certainly was rooted firmly in the Sega camp having had a Mega Drive for many, many years with games like Street of Rage, Ecco the Dolphin and of course, Sonic the Hedgehog. I was a huge Sonic fan, playing the first and second game until completion and then starting up again a few days later as I loved everything about it, the colours, the gameplay.... everything.
So if you tried to convince me that some 10-15 years later that Sonic and Mario would team up in a game, I probably would have just laughed. Back then it would have been an absurd thought but one that any magazine reviewer or computer game fanboy would have only dreamed about.
Well January 2008 saw this realisation with the release of Sonic & Mario...

Now you can compete in the olympic games
Advantages: fun, variety of events
Disadvantages: muscle strain
...Having seen the advert for this game i was desperate to buy it as i have not had my wii for that long and i do not have many games. I eventually bought this game and i am so glad that i did as it is great fun.
Players
This game can be played as a one player or multiplayer as long as you have a wii remote for each player. Also you will need a nunchuck for each player although some of the games you can play with just the remote.
Characters
In this game you can play as characters from either sonic or mario such as sonic, tails, mario, princess daisy and yoshi. Each of the characters have different abilities which are split into speed, skill, power and stamina. you can choose a character who is a speed, skill, power or all around type which means that if you are playing a running game you would choose a character from the speed type...

Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games
Advantages: Great multiplayer fun, lots to do
Disadvantages: Slightly Repetetive
...The Wii version of Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games has been with us for a while now, and it hasn't been too badly received either amongst the Wii-mote waving, button bashing members of the public out there, so now that the DS version has finally arrived, should these same gamers still be as excited as they were the first time around?
Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games on the DS is certainly not short on features, 16 playable characters have all been included, each of which are split into four categories such speed, skill, power and the all rounder's, therefore you can choose which characters you would prefer to use for each event based on their ability. The game also offers plenty of choice when it comes to events, these range from sprinting, swimming and cycling to more specialist events such as fencing and gymnastics...

My Top Ten Computer Games of all time
Advantages: Oldies but goodies
Disadvantages: Dare I admit I still enjoy them
...It has been an interesting experience compiling this list. I have started to produce similar efforts for the sister pages in the music section. There, of course, the wealth of material is wide and popular music stretches back more than half a century. I realise that computer games really are the ?Johnny-come-latelies? of the entertainment industry and have grown up at a remarkable pace. There, also, the differences occur. Computer games owe more to the board games of old, and it is probably true to say that most of those were variations (in one guise or another) of Snakes and Ladders or Ludo. For what it?s worth here's my two pennyworth.
In making my final choices I decided to stick with games that were tried and tested and which I can while away the odd hour even now. They did not necessarily have to be flash and use the latest seven...

IF YOU LIKE WORD GAMES YOU'LL LOVE THIS
Advantages: Four games on one disk, will not date and therefore you can still enjoy playing it in years to come - assuming that the system requirements allow you too
Disadvantages: I haven't come across any
...At work I don't have access to the Internet so I decided to dig out some of my old PC games and install them at work to play when I have 5 minutes spare to laze about.
One of the games I dug out was a word games disk that I used to play a lot before we got the Internet at home, since having the Internet I don't think it has seen the light of day, until this week when I dug it out.
The game is simply called Word Games For Windows, it is Manufactured by Guildhall Leisure Services Limited and is sold in CD ROM Format. As the title suggests you will need to be running Windows in order to install the games but other than that there is not a list of system requirements detailed on the packaging. At work our computer is at least 3 years old and is very basic, as I don't have any problems running the game there I would imagine that...

Yellow Jersey of bike games (Pro Cycling Manager (PC))
Advantages: Great graphics, huge amount of options
Disadvantages: Steep learning curve
...I have always been a fan of Sports Management games ever since growing up with Championship Manager on the Amiga. I saw this game advertised on Steam and decided I would like a look at it.
Having downloaded it through Steam I cannot comment on the box, however I will assume that the manual is the same as the PDF one available through Steam.
Interface
-----------
The game looks good from the start with bright colours and predominantly yellow (it is after all endorsed by the Tour de France). The initial menu takes you through the options well and directs you to the right starting point.
Gameplay
-------------
Gameplay is split into 2 parts, the management of your team and the actual races. The management section feels weighty with a host of options including purchasing equipment, organising training camps, selecting...

Carnival Funfair games: Wii
Advantages: Cheap, very fun!
Disadvantages: No good for young children, and it doesn't "progress" much.
...This game is so fun!!! We got it with our Wii when we bought it and we got a little addicted to it!! Its got a variety of games on it which you can play which you find at real carnivals and funfairs! Games such as Coin toss, ball in a bucket, milkbottle tumbe and loads more!! You earn points and unlock prizes and more games as you go (my favourite prize is the G-Raff on the duck hitting game!!!!!!) It can be played by up to 4 players and if you only have one controller it accomodates this!!!
As well as been a great game, its cheap too!! The only thing with it, is that some of the games don't last very long, and once you've unlocked the few games extra you can get, the game doesnt progress, but that is the only fault, and as a game to play to pass the time and have a good laugh in the head to head mode, its a great game to have a good...

My all time favourite games.
Advantages: Hours of fun
Disadvantages: Choosing only 10
...the game looks, plays and sounds.
10. Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2 is a 2D real-time strategy computer game developed by Westwood Studios and released for the PC in 2000 as the follow up to Command & Conquer: Red Alert, another game in the Command & Conquer series. The Allies and Soviets return in the game, and units and some structures from the first Red Alert make a reappearance. The game features better graphics, multiplayer and a continuation of the Red Alert story that we have grown familiar with. Taking influences from WW2 and the cold war but with a futuristic sci-fi twist; the strategy masterpiece puts you in charge of an army, sometimes you start with very little and have to earn your funds by mining ore and building your empire gradually.
Much like the other games in the franchise, there are multiple modes of play - many...

The Carlsberg of Computer Games? Breaking news
Advantages: Probably the best computer game - ever. Brilliant, highly addictive game play, has never been equalled. Look out for Aftermath!!!
Disadvantages: Graphics look a little "old hat" but once you're playing - who cares!
...I have to admit that the time I spend playing games on my computer these days is strictly limited. Indeed, the preoccupation with article preparation for CIAO sees to that! Beyond that however is the fact that game design, interface and strategy have all moved on apace with the burgeoning speed of CPUs, graphics boards and memory size whereas my own personal interface and brain power has not. I look back over fifteen years or so of personal computer ownership and recollect fondly perhaps half a dozen titles that were repeatedly playable and addictive in design (Railroad Tycoon, Civilisation, Colonisation). You will immediately see that I am describing games of strategy, particularly those which play differently with each start.
My absolute favourite of all time ? and I hasten to say that of a great many other gamers and computer...
