THE SIMS: LIFE STORIES (PC)

Advantages: Laptop friendly, comprehensive tutorial for beginners
Disadvantages: Expensive for what it's worth, not for the experienced Sims players

...?Windows? bar, to allow you to use the computer at the same time, such as exploring the Internet (though computer does slow down) and using Office packages. ~~~~~~~~~~ PLAY WISE ~~~~~~~~~~ You can play on two different modes on LS ? the story or the free play mode. The story mode is as I?ve explained earlier with Riley and Vince?s story. With the free play mode, it?s basically what you play on Sims 2. This game is extremely easy for those who have played Sims 2, as it uses the same format and functions. For those who haven?t played it, you control the Sim?s everyday action. Your Sims must get involve in mundane tasks (like humans), in order to survive longer. So they will be doing chores such as cleaning the toilet, watching telly, painting and cooking. The adult Sims can have babies, which will grow up into toddlers...

The Sims 3, PC

Advantages: A virtual life if you don't have one of your own ;o)
Disadvantages: Can spend hours on this game wasting my real life

...this game as it would add another very interesing element to the game. I beleive that add-on packs were available for pets in previous Sims games. So maybe it'll be available in the future. I think it would be nice if you could control your Sim while they are at work. You just choose if they should work hard or take it easy etc. Then they disappear into their office all day. You also have to wait for ages while your Sims sleep of a night. It would be nice to be able to jump past this. The house building tools etc are very good. You can build pretty much anything you like. And you can get loads of fiurniture etc to fill the house with. You can even swap/purchase designs online with other players. Overall I enjoy this game. It can get quite addictive and can easilly swallow up a few hours. I've not had the previous versions to...

Review of The Sims 3 (PC)

There's only one, classic, unique Sims.

Advantages: Good fun, Classic game, Deep customization, Unique
Disadvantages: Outdated by newer verisons

...At the turn of the new millennium a new sort of game emerged, a game of the likes had not been seen before despite its simplicity and relation to everyday life as human beings see it. The game was set to go down in history from the moment of its release, becoming the most sold PC game in history. It went from strength-to-strength, with several expansion packs also being released which would enabled extra features, characters and objects for your original games. As well as these, in more recent times the Sims 2 and 3 respectively have been developed and sold worldwide and have cemented the game in it?s place as one of the best ever created. But this review is going to feature on the little accord of the original first Sims. The game?s goal and gameplay is simple, very simple, so simple that it is quite possible that the reason that...

The Sims

Advantages: Addictive, entertaining, the sky's the limit!
Disadvantages: Can freeze my computer, gets boring

..., no steady job, living in a hovel, and generally causing trouble in the neighbourhood! The Sims costs around £35-£40, depending on where you buy it and whether it includes Livin It Up, an expansion pack, (Deluxe Edition) with it. It is quite pricey, but I don't think it's any more expensive than any other computer game. The expansion packs cost around £20 each. First of all, you need to create your Sims. The Sims-Creator is really easy to use and even the stupidest person can work it out! You shouldn't really have any problems with it. You can choose the colour of their skin, their clothes, gender, their faces, personality and starsign. The choice of clothes and faces gets larger if you buy more expansion packs. Then you build or buy your house! You buy a plot of land, and start building! The build mode is very simple, and when you...

I still love The Sims

Advantages: Fun, easy to play
Disadvantages: Addictive

...-life simulator as technology allowed in 2000. The Sims was created by Will Wright who also created the popular SimCity games. After Wright lost his home in a terrible fire, he began thinking about a real-life simulation programme in which the player could control the lives of simulated-people. His first idea was a simulated dolls house; he approached Maxis with the idea as early as 1993 but the idea never took off due to the limitations of computer technology at the time. Obviously not one to give up Wright began working on "Project X" in 1995. 2 years later the name was changed from Project X to The Sims. The project took 5 more years to complete and when The Sims came out in 2000 it was an amazing concept in gaming and it achieved an enormous fan base. ~~~~~ What's the manual like? ~~~~~ In a word, small. I like small manuals as I really...

The Sims

Advantages: Fun for a while, detailed, good graphics
Disadvantages: Addictive, gets boring after a while!

...The Sims is yet another brilliant game from Maxis, with Maxis having already produced the brilliant SimCity series. The Sims is so totally unlike any other game that it just had to be a true classic. You control peoples lives, you choose their occupation, you choose their furniture, you choose the wallpaper and bed to their home, you choose whether to make their life a living hell or to make it heaven. In some aspects I suppose you could compare the Sims to Big Brother except you control the characters. So if you’re a control freak you’re bound to love the Sims! Just don’t be too mean to you’re Sims! The detail in the Sims is quite fantastic. You fully furnish your Sims home and can even build it, decide whether to add a second full or not. You also choose the carpets and wallpapers your Sims have. But all that...

The Sims 1.5?

Advantages: Multiple personality traits, improved object graphics, multiple savegames
Disadvantages: Ugly Sims, 'rabbit hole' community lots, slow AI, poor pathing, feels unfinished, buggy

...***Please be sure to read my updates at the end of this review, which now address many of the problems I found with my review of this game in its original 'straight out of the box' form. Year of release: 2009 Publisher: EA Games The Sims 3 is the latest in the ?Sims? life simulator series that began in 2000 with The Sims, in which you create lifelike characters and watch them live out their lives and interact with each other in many and varied, and often hilariously funny, ways. As a massively avid fan of The Sims 2, I got my copy of this new offering a week ago and have been immersing myself in it. Installing it is easy, if a bit time-consuming as it requires a whopping 6.1 GB of hard disk space with an allowance of another 1 GB for saved games and custom content. Once installed, those who, like myself, had become accustomed to...

Should you buy the Sims 3 for PC?

Advantages: Mac/PC capability, No loading inbetween lots, Enhanced character building, Improved graphics
Disadvantages: Price? Cheeky new online store

...The Price At amazon, the Sims 3 for PC is priced at £30. Many have commented that this is too expensive, whilst it is expensive, in my opinion, it is totally worth it. However, don't expect a totally new game. You will need to understand that it is still the Sims 2 , its just been enhanced. If you are expecting a totally new game, you will most likely be disappointed. The Abolished Loading Times This was a great idea. I the Sims 2, gamers were forced to wait for up to 4 minutes whilst visiting other lots, etc... Now, once you have loaded the household, there is no more loading required. This speeds up the gaming process and makes the game easier to play. Enhanced character building I think this is what has improved the game so much for me. Each Sim can now be built with unique interest and whereas in previous games, your...

The Sims just got bigger and even better!

Advantages: Still very addicting, and a great seamless neighbourhood. Goodbye loading screens!
Disadvantages: Still quite 'basic' whilst we wait for all those inevitable expansion packs.

... So what is "The Sims?" If you haven't even heard of The Sims before then, well, where have you been?! The Sims took off years ago and is now a huge, best selling popular PC game, along with its never ending expansion packs. First there was The Sims, then came along The Sims 2 and now this year has come The Sims 3, bigger and better than ever before. The Sims is anything you want it to be. You can create a Sim that resembles you, someone famous or just a completely made up character. You can make them get married, have children and live in a comfortable home, or you could be rich and single, there is so much choice to what you can have your Sims do, it's basically your own soap opera set in your very own neighbourhood, jam packed with other Sims and places waiting to be explored. What's New in The Sims 3? The main...

The best out of the three editions of Sims

Advantages: Had better quality camera shots and objects
Disadvantages: Consuming time of doing activities such as work.

...Why the sims 1 has always been my top favourite. I have only recently rejected Sims 2 and 3 away from my overall gaming on my laptop because i have deeply missed my overall top favourite out of the three. Sims 1 became a number one liftoff of all PC games, the ability to control your own miniturized people, ruling their lives and affecting their day to day routines. You are able to basically do whatever you want from controlling sim people. You have freedom to do your own choices and with the perfect expansions which made this game even better throughout the years. Add ons such as Making magic, vacation, pets, hotdate, living large etc. These were the best expansions you could have imagined. Sims 1 have the superb voices which help them become more realistic. The gibberish sim talk they use, and the different interactions they...
