Yellow Jersey of bike games (Pro Cycling Manager (PC))
Advantages: Great graphics, huge amount of options
Disadvantages: Steep learning curve
...I have always been a fan of Sports Management games ever since growing up with Championship Manager on the Amiga. I saw this game advertised on Steam and decided I would like a look at it.
Having downloaded it through Steam I cannot comment on the box, however I will assume that the manual is the same as the PDF one available through Steam.
Interface
-----------
The game looks good from the start with bright colours and predominantly yellow (it is after all endorsed by the Tour de France). The initial menu takes you through the options well and directs you to the right starting point.
Gameplay
-------------
Gameplay is split into 2 parts, the management of your team and the actual races. The management section feels weighty with a host of options including purchasing equipment, organising training camps, selecting...

Fifa Manager 2007 Computer Game
Advantages: Super impression of being a football manager
Disadvantages: Fairly addictive game once started.
...FIFA Manager 2007 (PC)
Introduction
Here the game involves starting off as a new manager for a club of your choice. There are so many British, European, and other International sides to manage. The game involves almost every aspect of managing a football side. This game is not an action sports game like FIFA 08, this simply involves managing a football club. The choice of which team to manage, is yours.
Upon starting a manager is given a budget to work with, fan's and the club's directors expectations level to meet. The ambition of a team such as Manchester United or Chelsea would usually be to finish in the top 3 of the league or to win the Premier League in that season, or win the Champions league etc. If failing to meet these expectations, or losing too many matches, the manager is sacked. If people do well, people can...

The Drug of Management Games
Advantages: Addictive, You feel powerful, Good additions
Disadvantages: You may feel ashamed after realizing how long you're playing
...I grew out of playing games quite some time ago, back in the day when Sega Megadrive's were still the rage and Sonic 2's Day was the highlight of the gaming calendar. However there is one kind of game that has got me hooked and continues to consume insane amounts of my time. That game is Championship Manager or as this latest version is called - Football Manager 2005. Having played Championship Manager 4 for quite some time it was a very addictive game but one that could be improved upon.
I'm glad to say that the maker's have added little bits and pieces to this new incarnation to fuel your management lust. For those that don't know what the game is about, well the title says it all. You are the manager of a football team, you pick the players, you make the transfer moves and you have to take the heat when things aren't going so well...

Football manager on computer
Advantages: Good controlling options
Disadvantages: graphics could be improved
...fantastic. Although it could perhaps be argued that the game would benefit from having 3D highlights, bad 3D highlights would detract from the games exceptional quality, so perhaps to refrain from implementing this change for a few more years would be a wise move. That said, I'd definitely love to see my teams goals in full 3D glory - and the sooner Sports Interactive make this addition to the game, the better really. Each in-game month, there is a 'Goal of the Month' accolade awarded, with the top three goals from the previous month named and listed. The ability to see these goals in their full glory would without a shadow of a doubt be superbly pleasing.
Given the lack of graphical complexity, this therefore means that you don't need to have the latest of computers in order to enjoy this fantastic football management sim. You will however need...

Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games (Wii)
Advantages: Great fun, realistic actions
Disadvantages: Will tire you out easily
...During the 1990s, if you had a games console you would have probably been in one of two camps: Sega or Nintendo. I certainly was rooted firmly in the Sega camp having had a Mega Drive for many, many years with games like Street of Rage, Ecco the Dolphin and of course, Sonic the Hedgehog. I was a huge Sonic fan, playing the first and second game until completion and then starting up again a few days later as I loved everything about it, the colours, the gameplay.... everything.
So if you tried to convince me that some 10-15 years later that Sonic and Mario would team up in a game, I probably would have just laughed. Back then it would have been an absurd thought but one that any magazine reviewer or computer game fanboy would have only dreamed about.
Well January 2008 saw this realisation with the release of Sonic & Mario...

The football management game
Advantages: 3D match engine, all players in the world are available, better than LMA manager
Disadvantages: Sometimes strange results like team in 1st place being beaten by team in 24th
...Football manager 2009 has continued the football manager series with the same features and layout of the game as the past versions, but this time features a new 3D match view. The game has many good features that would make me more willing to buy this game over the biggest competitor, LMA Manager 2009. Firstly, the game can be installed very quickly, and you can choose the countries and the leagues who wish to play in, or buy players from. For example, if you only wanted to play in the English leagues, you can do so by only entering the English leagues to play in, however if you then in future wanted to play in another countries' league(s) you would have to hope that that country or club makes you an offer to manage them. If not you will be stuck with only being able to take over teams in the country that you have selected. Many fans...

Championship manager 5 was completely ruined by a few bugs.
Advantages: Easy to navigate around the game.
Disadvantages: lots of bugs in the game ruins the enjoyment
...Totally blew my mind for like the first 3 months as i was glued to my pc, however as soon as 1 problem occured it was quickly followed by several more which (in my opinion) made it impossible to play.
I am a huge fan of Football management games but championship manager 5 was a huge disappointment for me and a few of my freinds who also purchased the game.
The problem with the game is that it is full of 'bugs' by which i mean faults such as after 1 season of winning the treble with Arsenal my fans all hated me and wanted me gone, then when i went to play ac milan in a cup match all my players were for some reason ineligible to play and so the game drafted up players who werent part of my squad to play for me (i lost).
For these reasons i felt this game was a let down however do not let this put you off the other games in...

Your chance to live the life of a Football Manager
Advantages: Highly enjoyable, Considerably updated from last years offering
Disadvantages: You'll have to forget any chance of a social life
...Having been a fan of the series for some time, dating back to the early days of Championship Manager 2 which was released some 10 years ago now, every time a new edition is released - I am quick to get out there and bag myself a copy of what I would consider to be the best football management game that there is available. You may wonder why I refer to Championship Manager here given that Championship Manager games continue to be released alongside Football Manager, however up until and including Championship Manager 03/04, Sports Interactive were the team behind the Championship Manager series, however after a split between Sports Interactive and Eidos whereby Sports Interactive signed a deal with Sega - Sports Interactive kept the base code, the game database and programming of the game, bringing this with them to Sega whilst Eidos kept...

==Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games (Wii)==
Advantages: variety of games to play
Disadvantages: Slow loading
...Mario & Sonic at the olympic games was the first game i bought after getting a Wii for christmas.
I personally think that it is an excellent first game to get for the Wii. You can happily play for hours and hours becuase of the wide variety of events you can play. These events include;
*"Swimming"
*"Archery"
*"Running"
*"Hurdles"
*"Long jump"
*"Triple jump"
*High jump"
*"Pole vault"
*"Hammer throw"
*"Javeline throw"
*"Epée"
*"Trampoline"
*"Vault"
*"Rowing"
*"Skeet"
*"Tennis"
So as you can see by this list you have a wide variety to choose from but you also have the options of unlocking different games, this can be done by breaking records and so on. Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games is fun for all the family to enjoy because it has a multiplayer option of upto 4 people. You also get to choose from all your favourite...

Racing team manager is good, but needs a polish
Advantages: The best management game out there, some nice ideas.
Disadvantages: Some F1/manging knowledge required, feels unfinished, unrealistic where it counts
...created entirely new one for themselves. This allowed me to enjoy the game more, as i didn't have pre-set preferences about who won.
My computer used for gaming isn't connected to the internet, so I can't make any comments on multilayer, or on patches to improve the game.
Single player starts off like most management games, you can take over an existing team, or start a new one. As I didn't know what i was doing, I started a new one, so I could build everything up from scratch. You can choose your team name, logo and nationality to make it feel like your own. You also get to chose from a list of drivers to get who will driver for you. The ability of the drivers varies quite a bit, allowing you to choose depending on where about you want to be in the field of cars.
After this, you're taken through a few menu's telling you the regulations...
