PDC World Championship Darts on PS2

Advantages: Licnenced Game of the PDC and can be 10 licenced darts players
Disadvantages: Poor Graphics , Repetitive Commentry , lack of Realism , lack of `customisation

...PDC World Championship darts is a half reasonable attempt for a first shot at a licenced game on the PS2. However there are lots of things that put this game down that could well be improved. First off the carear mode it just lets you be one standard darts player. There is a vey limited customation for your player eg a few shirts and theme song you can choose from but nothing to get you excited. The graphic quality for the PS2 isnt up to scratch. The graphics resemble more the ps1 than anything else. The players movements are not smooth and fluent like they should be and they all have the same standard action. Commentry is very repetitive how many times sid says you couldnt swing a badger in here is unbelivable. The players themselves dont seem to show any emotion when throwing darts. PDC Darts Wii, Let Down> ?

Advantages: Graphics, Realism, Game Modes
Disadvantages: GAMEPLAY !

...This game could promise so much but delivered very little. The idea of this game where you could become a darting champion is a good one but the game lacks too much. The game focuses on the PDC the "glitz and glamour" side of darts, it has the top 16 players in the PDC with numerous formats you can play. The game modes are a plus point of this title with several to choose from witch includes a career mode, exhibition mode and party games. The gameplay lets this game down so badly, throwing the dart is surely the central point of the game and it seems they've just forgotten about it. There are two ways to use the controllers to throw, either being easy. One with the wii remote, aiming with it and throwing it like a dart (keep hold of the remote though) and equally as hard you can use the remote and nun chuck aiming with the remote...

Embassy World Professional Darts!

Advantages: Superb entertainment, value for money, fantastic atmosphere, a chance to mix with the players

Graphics No Good - Very Dissapointed

Advantages: Easy
Disadvantages: Graphics are poor and gameplay could be better

...We purchased this game because the graphics on the case looked like real life graphics but we were very let down when it came to the gameplay. The dart throwing process is exactly the same as the darts game that you can play on sky active so there isn't really much competition or fun with the game. The best part we found with this game was when we turned off the ps2 and gave up. The graphics on the dart board look like something you would get on an old master system or atari so we were not impressed at all. The tournament stage also only allows you to play against the computer and not against another player unlike the party game mode. I am still looking for a good darts game but i can safely say that i won't be playing this one again...

Who is the King of Darts

Advantages: Entertaining, exciting, quick and simple
Disadvantages: Physically demandind

The other World Championship, the WDO was won by John 'The Boy' Walton who beat Ted 'The Count' Hankey with a stunning performance. The two must now surely meet up to decide who is the real 'King of Darts' in a glamorous battle of the titans. These matches have happened before with Taylor dispatching Ray Barnaveld easily and they have been fairly disappointing encounters. But Walton and Taylor seem more evenly matched with both having the talent to hit 180's on demand and also being able to hit doubles with ease. I think that Taylor would just have too much in this closet for Jon 'the Boy' Walton to take. Come on boys, Let?s play Darts....

The back of the box states "Get in to the crazy and wonderful world of touch darts" and whilst very stereotypical and not very "PC" I instantly thought of the game played by podgy, beer swilling, middle aged working class men in their local (and hazy prior to the smoking ban) social club. Obviously, this is incorrect and darts is a sport of people of all ages - just look at the young Dutch players appearing on the world stage at the Lakeside last year (the names of who escapes me). As its name suggests this game is produced by Sega and is, according to the box, designed for players aged 3+.
