...When making my morning toast for breakfast I found some of this in my sisters fridge and thought I'd give it a try as I am normally a fan of the crunchy variety. Super Smooth Peanut Butter is provided in a clear glass jar with a screwable plastic lid (which is yellow) and once I unscrew the top I am met with that familiar peanut butter smell. I spread the peanut butter on my toast and the consistency was the same as the crunchy variety except with 0 bits and it was indeed super smooth. The taste was lovely and creamy and I could taste the peanuts. The peanut butter is just as good as the crunchy variety and I actually didn't miss the chunks of peanut at all. I choose smooth over crunchy because I wanted to reduce the chance of bits getting stuck in my teeth. The result of all this tasting has resulted in me wanting a peanut butter that just has roasted peanuts and maybe some salt in with nothing else. Why, oh why, do they have to adulterate lovely peanut butter with palm oil and sugar amongst other things ? When made from decent ingredients the peanuts should sing out great flavour from themselves. This is why I decided to try Suma Organic Smooth Peanut Butter (Unsalted) which came in a 340g glass jar from my local Co-operative supermarket. The sole entry on its ingredient list is organic roasted peanuts, nothing less, nothing more. Peanut butter lovers, you will be in heaven

...My son - a true gourmet - bought the first jar on reccomendation from a friend with the assurance "once you have tasted Skippy, you will never want to have any other peanut butter again!". Skippy, an american brand which has been going since 1933, offers a peanut related range of products not all yet available in the UK. So far I have come across the smooth and crunchy versions of peanut buitter, other products and sizes can be sourced on the internet (if you really must!). It retails at about £1.60 for 340 grams from regular high street supermarkets, and although it seems more expensive than other brands, its quality makes it so that only a smaller quantity is required for the same amount of flavour. It lasts longer, so it is not really more expensive. Peanut butter is peanut butter I thought. What could be so fantastic...
