A wah pedal for the 21st century player
Review of Boss Wah Pedal PW-10 by
mastodonathon
Advantages: 6 different wah settings, distortion/overdrive effects, 3 digital memories
Disadvantages: none
...The Boss Pw-10 Wah pedal is the first of it's kind, offering 6 different wah settings, distortion and overdrive effects, 3 digital memories and many other little extra's all wrapped up in a tiny pedal.
This is a stunning new wah pedal wich is aimed at any guitar player for it is very versatile.
The pedal is very easy to start off with, the knobs and controls are extremely easy to figure out with simple instructions printed on the back of the pedal and more details in the manual.
The pedal has many features wich I have already mentioned wich are:
8 Distortion/Overdrive effects
6 Different wah effects
Advanced Infared Pedal Detection
A new 'Voice' effect
New 'Double Resonance mode'
New Uni V effect
3 digital memories
and a range knob
This is a very cool pedal to have as I have found out recently, normally you would have to buy separate...

"The Equalizer"
Review of Boss Equilizer GE 7 by
richard_richard
Advantages: Good sound, flexibility, reliable
Disadvantages: Almost too much to fiddle around with!
...Boss have been producing good quality guitar pedals for many years now and are probably the best know name in guitar pedal manufacture.
The pedal I am reviewing here is the GE-7 Equaliser pedal.
I purchased this pedal a second hand about four years ago and I paid £49 for it.
Out of interest, this particular pedal is an earlier Boss Japanese model. These are regarded by many as better quality than the newer models which are now made in Taiwan.
Construction
The GE-7 has a solid looking, all metal construction which I alreay know has taken many years of punishment!
The pedal is a compact size with a large switch on the top to turn the effect on and off and a rubber slip-proof mat on the bottom.
The pedal can be powered by a 9V battery, or by an external 9V power adapter.
The controls are mounted on the top of the pedal...

BOSS PW-10 V-WAH
Review of Boss Wah Pedal PW-10 by
hes_quadraphonic
Advantages: Memory, Distortion, 8 pedals in one, 8 distortion effects
Disadvantages: 6 AA batteries 40hrs battery life, pricey Ac Adapter (£25)
...I've owned this pedal for a while now, and generally, i'm quite happy with it. The pedal emulates 4 main wah and effects pedals, all of which can be selected by adjusting the type knob.
The pedals its emulates:
Setting Description
Cby-Wah Emulates Cry Baby
Vo-Wah Emulates VOX v846
Mo-Wah Emulates Morley Bad Horsie
UNI-V Emulates "Uni-vibe" effect of 60's and 70's
All of these affects can be additionaly modified by adjusting the wah range and drive knob.
----------Durability----------
As with any boss product, the pedal is pretty durable. It's mad of high quality metal and rubber and feels strong. Their are no horrible clicky buttons, and the pedal itself has a nice weight and feel to it. I'm confident that you could pretty much stand on this...

Could this be the best wah wah ever?
Review of Visual Sound Morley Bad Horsie Wah (model VAI-1) by
singingbush
Advantages: Quality Build, easy to use
Disadvantages: none, only one type of wah sound
...It was a few years ago now that Morley released the Bad Horsie. I was already a Morley fan due to the fact that their pedals use optics over the conventional pot control, this means that while other owners of other wah wah’s (such as a Crybaby) may need to replace the pot or their entire pedal after intense use, the Morley pedals will just keep on working.
There are a few variations of Morley Wah Pedals. What makes the Bad Horsie unique is the fact that it’s switchless, as soon as you step on the pedal it will switch itself on. This may sound like a small thing (and it is), but nobody had made a wah like this before – it’s so obvious. While playing through a song the last thing you want to do is have to start moving you feet around the floor to switch pedals on before they can be used– this pedal is for people that need instant wah...

Not a piano-style pedal, but good at what it does
Review of Casio SP3 Pedal by
PhilThePenguin
Advantages: Reliable switching action, durable
Disadvantages: Not piano-style, can slip, cable perhaps too long
...I use this as an una corda pedal with my Casio Privia PX-310 stage piano, alongside an SP-20 as the main sustain pedal. As you'd expect from Casio, it's well-made and has served me well through many gigs and even more hours of practice at home.
This pedal is a class above the cheaper models available in this design and the switching action is positive and reliable. Obviously though, anyone hoping for the realistic action and feel of a "proper" piano pedal will be disappointed.
Despite the rubber underside, slipping can be a problem on some stages. At nearly 2 m (6 ft), the attached cable is almost certainly longer than you'll need and this can contribute to the inevitably messy-looking stage, but it's a minor gripe.
A perfectly acceptable budget sustain pedal, but before long you'll want to spend a little more on a proper piano...

Does exactly what it's required to do
Review of Casio SP20 Sustain Pedal by
PhilThePenguin
Advantages: Well-made, robust, reliable, good piano pedal feel
Disadvantages: Can slip, cable perhaps too long
...I use this as the main sustain pedal with my Casio Privia PX-310 stage piano. As you'd expect from Casio, it's well-made and has served me well through many gigs and even more hours of practice at home.
The feel of the pedal is excellent - far better than with the smaller switch pedals available - and players of "real" pianos shouldn't find the switch difficult. The action is positive and reliable, so you needn't worry about missing the odd pedal point, unlike with cheaper pedals.
Despite the rubber underside, slipping can be a problem on some stages, though there are attachment points at the front of the pedal for an optional heel mat to eliminate this. At nearly 2 m (6 ft), the attached cable is almost certainly longer than you'll need and this can contribute to the inevitably messy-looking stage, but it's a minor gripe.

DW 5002, Having A Blast
Review of DW Delta II 5002 double pedal by
whitby_qpr
Advantages: Amazing power and speed, stylish design, 3rd beater slot
Disadvantages: Price,
...The DW 5002 double pedal is in my opinion, the best double bass pedal currently available on the market. It effortlessly delivers speed, as well as power, resulting in a phantasmagorical bass drum experience.
I was considering buying the DW9000, I am however totally satisfied with the DW 5002, as it hasn't yet let me down in any situation.
It's the little things that make this bass drum pedal such a joy to perform with. The extra beater slot on the left foot pedal for instance, is an amazing step forward in the bass pedal world. As i now have two bass drums, I was extremely glad not to have to fork out another lump of cash for another single pedal.
In short, this pedal does it all, Blast beats are made effortless, and technical double taps can happen at will. I reccomend to all drummers, regardless of skill level....

The Marshall Guv'nor 2 - Distortion Pedal
Review of Marshall Guv´Nor Plus - GV-2 by
richnfg
Advantages: Indestructable! Great range of tones.
Disadvantages: Dials rubbed off and drains batteries very fast
...When I went looking for a distortion pedal for my guitar and amp I instantly went for Marshall. Marshall have a great name for amps and I was hoping the same for the pedal. After trying the pedal out in the shop I handed over my £45 (which is very cheap for what this pedal can do!).
-CONSTRUCTION-
The Guv'nor 2 is built like a tank, it really can take a beating. This pedal is made from all metal (and no plastic, like other pedals) meaning it would be great to gig with - you could not break this if you tried! The dials are a little fiddly at times, especially if you have large hands like me, but it is not too much of a problem.
-SOUND-
The Guv'nor 2 can produce a variety of sounds and even comes with a booklet with a list of presets. You can play distorted blues, rock or even metal, if you really wanted to, all with a few changes...

Excellant
Review of Pearl Pearl 2000 Powershift Eliminator single pedal by
Ryan-Simpson
Advantages: Great build
Disadvantages: not much !
...The peadl i have is a p202 with base plate, and cost me a very reasonable 65 quid. construction is pretty much flawless and the pedal has a huge range of tuning options to suit whatever style you want. Vert sturdy and unlikely to move, due to a velcro strip on the bottom of the plate and two spikes at the front of the pedal, and the knuckle saving side tightening screw are also handy features. the head features four different playing surfaces to give four quite different sounds . All elements are adjustable and all are easy to operate and will stay in their set poition/tension for a good period of time. A great all round pedal for heavier players or lighter drummers who wanted a seriously solid dependable pedal....

Very good noise suppressor
Review of Boss Noise Suppressor NS-2 by
gwlith_y_wawr
Advantages: Can power other pedals, well built
Disadvantages: Not very exciting (it is just a noise suppressor after all!)
...This is probably the least interesting guitar pedal you can get, but it does have its uses. It has the standard size and shape of a Boss pedal and is built equally as well. These things just never break!
Its main use, as its name suggests, is to suppress pedal noise during guitar silences. As anybody who has an effects pedal chain will know, effects pedals, especially ones like chorus and flanger, can produce annoying noises when you’re not playing. This pedal completely removes this noise when it is used to make an effects loop with your other pedals.
The main advantage of this pedal, apart from its main use, is to power the other pedals when it is attached to the mains and the power inputs of other effects, though you do need to buy the adaptor and leads separately. This is especially useful as it saves on batteries (effects...
