...Pedigree dog food is one of the most common dog foods on the pet food market, it comes in various varietys, including dry food bags, tinned meat, pouches and various dog treats. They have a range of foods including, puppy, junior, adult, senior and light diets to suit dog of various ages. The only one out of these i would possibly concider giving my dogs would be the treats. There are far better dog foods available to feed dogs containing more natural ingredience, no/less presevatives and colourants. A common problem caused by pedigree being to high in these contents is your dog becoming hyperactive, also it can cause itchy skin, and bad effects out the other end. More natural foods are usually wheat gluten free which a lot of dogs digestive systems don't agree with so food without this are a far healthier choice. The tinned...

Pedigree Chum dog food

Advantages: good for his health

...My dog is 16 and as he is old now has got very picky in what he eats. I tried various foods for him, most of which he turned his nose up at. My Vet told me that a lot of people used Pedigree Chum, along with the Pedigree mixer, but for a while I ignored him, as I felt it was too expensive. However, I did buy it and was amazed at the change in my dog! he actually waits by his bowl every day, wags his tail, and eats the lot straight away. His health seemed to improve, and his vitality improved as well. I find that I don't have to give him as much as the cheaper brands, so in the end it doesn't work out much dearer. He looks so much healthier, his coat is shiny, and i put it all down to Pedigree Chum....

Food For Thought

...Heinz Dry Baby Food I was a bit apprehensive about buying this stuff for Jack as I was rather liking pureeing my own mix of fruit and vegetables and giving this to him. However now he is having a breakfast lunch and dinner I have found making so much stuff pureed rather difficult and I feel they are not as filling for Jack as something like this food. My friend had recommended this particular one to me as she said that her two children had absolutely loved the stuff. It cost me £1.69pence for this 125gram box from Boots. This box I am using at the moment is the Mediterranean vegetables with rice but there is also a broccoli, cauliflower and cheese one available for the same price and the same size. This food is available from 4 to 6 months onwards. Heinz boast that the food contains no artificial flavours or colours...

...A friend of mine has two Yorkshire Terriers. Unfortunately they were not house trained at the beginning of their existence on this planet. Consequently they have a habit of leaving presents on occasion in the house. They were originally fed on pedigree chum tins and depending on the variety this occasionally ran throught them for want of a better turn of phrase. So she decided to try the dry food. This stuff has helped that problem and it does seem to save her about £5-10 a month. There hasn't been any decline in their condition as a result of eating the dried food. Though it did come as a bit of a culture shock for them when they were first given it. For a few days she put some meat on it to get them accustomed to the idea. This seemed to do the trick. They get scraops and so forth still but they tuck into the dried food...

Paws Up For Pedigree!

Advantages: Good quality dog food

...We have recently bought a puppy. She's eight weeks old, a Jack Russell terrier and we have called her Pixie. She had been weaned onto Pedigree Chum Puppy food, so we continued to buy this for her, as it was what she was used to. We didn't want to upset her delicate puppy tummy by changing it to something else. We also have an old Jack Russell X Chihuahua called Katy. We buy her various types of food, as she gets bored after a while. She's on Winalot at the moment. She does like Pedigree Chum, but it's a bit more expensive so we don't buy it for her very often. We shop at Asda and they sell a pack of six 400g tins of Pedigree Chum Puppy food for £3.40. They sell a similar thing by Butchers for £2.58 but the tins are only 300g ones. Winalot sell 400g tins in the puppy range, but only in packs of three tins for £1.58, so in comparison...

...I first saw this product in my local supermarket and I believe it was on offer, half price I think. The main appeal was the price but there was also a message on the packaging "Lasts up to an hour". I have two Springer spaniels and finding treats for them that last more than ten minutes is a great bonus. I bought two and could not wait to give them to my dogs. I have always approved of the products of Pedigree and my dogs approve of most of the Pedigree products. I bought the large dog size Super Chew as this was all the supermarket had. The Packaging The packaging was in the traditional colours of Pedigree, red and yellow, there is also a small clear section of plastic to view the product. It also has a clock and the message "Lasts up to an hour" and that it was a good for cleaning the plaque from their teeth...

Pedigree Jumbones

...My dogs are both big fans of Pedigree dog treats. But their treats never seem to last more than 10 minutes! I noticed Jumbones in the pet shop and they seemed larger than most of the other treats in the shop, so I thought they may last a bit longer. They come in a red and yellow packet with a picture of the product, the pedigree logo and a dog on the front. They are sold in packets of 1 (large), 2 (medium) or 4 (small). A packet of two medium jumbones cost me £1.39. More recently I have noticed they are available in boxes of 8 for £5.49, great for owners whose dogs really like the treat! The treats have a softer dark brown centre covered in a tougher looking chewy off-white coating. They are most commonly found in the original beef flavour but I have also noticed a new chicken and rice flavour, although my dogs haven't tried...

Stinky Pedigree Chum

Advantages: Nutritious, keeps my dogs coat looking shiny and healthy

...Ever since our Border collie dog Chloe came to live with us at 9 weeks old we have given her Pedigree Chum. It started off as Pedigree Chum Puppy food and we moved on eventually to the adult version, which is what I will review now. I always buy the variety in gravy for Chloe. This has got nothing to do with what she likes unfortunately. It has everything to do with the fact that I find it a lot easier to get out of the tin, and break up in her bowl. I have to do this fairly quickly as with a cat and a dog, meal time are a little tense between the two, until they both have a bowl in front of them. Even then, one is outside and one is inside! Anyway in the words of Mike Reid - I digress!! I buy these tins of dog food in packs of 6, although Sainsbury's have just started to sell the gravy variety in packs of 12. There is not...

Batiste Dry Shampoo

Advantages: A fab product which leaves hair looking great

...I was having a really bad hair day a couple of weeks ago, though it was my own fault as the night before I hadn't washed my hair out of laziness! I have the type of hair which does need washing on a daily basis or else it looks greasy, dull and lifeless the day after. My hair was that bad due to it not being washed that it made me feel really awful and self conscious. A work colleague recommended that I try Batiste Dry Shampoo for such occassions. I took her advice and purchased a bottle from Tescos on my next shopping trip. I paid £1.99 for a 150ml cannister, which I thought was quite good value for money. The cannister itself is a bright yellow colour with a jade green plastic lid. The cannister is re-cycleable and is found amongst the normal shampoos on the shelves. Advantages: Complete nutrition.Tried trusted quality brand.
Disadvantages: Expensive.A bit too rich/makes Basil smelly see op.

...daily budget,I tend to now buy Basil (our german shepherd dog incase you still don't know)food in smaller quantities-without losing out too much on price;-at least for the momment! So get out there quick!Cheaper than Petsmarts! A bag of Pedigree Adult complete dry food especially "Light"Menu with 30% less fat costs a mere £4.35 for a 2.5kg bag,as opposed to pedigree's recommended price of £5.odd! Yes! (I KNOW I could buy a multiple kilo bag for a couple quid cheaper but if you haven't got the extra dosh up front in the first place,it makes financial sense to shop around for the smaller bag)Besides,this bag will last a good 4 days,and if your dog is a tinier breed;say a medium/small/toy,it might last the whole week,so there!! I can't promise how much longer Tesco's will keep this low though. As we speak the nasty pedigree careline lady...
