San Pellegrino in plastic bottles

Advantages: none
Disadvantages: not a good move to change from glass to plastic

...I love San Pellegrino mineral water, I agree with the previous reviewer. It is light and refreshing and not at all gassy. My only gripe is that I used to be able to buy it in large, glass bottles but for some ridiculous reason (certainly not a green one) I can only find the larger sizes in nasty plastic bottles. Were I to buy teeny bottles of San Pellegrino, I would have the pleasure of glass but I don't want a teeny bottle, I want a great big bottle to put on my dinner table! Why, oh why have they changed to plastic? I didn't buy the water for a long time after the change, but now I have sneaked it back onto my shopping list. I am concerned, though, as, apart from the recycling point-of-view, I am sure it is less healthy to buy water in plastic bottles as the chemicals can leach into the water. 5 stars for the water but 0 stars...

A light bite

Advantages: Easy, non-challenging read
Disadvantages: Predictable, could have had more depth and still been readable

...Humm, I seem to be writing about non alcoholic drinks at the moment, the problem being there’s not much you can write about drinks. Though I could use this to have a bit of a go at Ciao and ask why they don’t pay for reviews of CDs and Films and other entertainment consumables, because I’m sure that shops make more profit on these sort of items that food and drink. Or maybe it’s that everyone has to eat and drink and they reap their huge dividends through the huge amounts they sell. Water I'd pay for!

Advantages: Great tasting. Goes great with meals.

...I was first introduced to sparkling mineral water as a child of eight. I called this 'soda water', because it was water that tasted like soda. Cant beat the Taste!

...Pellegrino is the best sparkling water there is, as far as I'm concerned. I was first introduced to it at a lavish dinner party, but have found myself drinking it with just about anything. I replaced my usual bottles of water during the day with Pellegrino. Although it may be a little pricey, it is definitely worth it. It comes in a green tinted bottle with a light blue label. The eye catcher on the bottle is a red star. It was created in 1899 and contains very low sodium. It is definitely a better option than having a soda on a work break. My friends sometimes make fun of me when I'm sitting around drinking out of the bottle (it's so good I dont even go for a glass) - Many people associate this water with a fancy restaurant or italian thanksgiving.. when in fact it is truely delicious with just about anything!...

Delicious with pizza

Advantages: With italian food it's the only credible alterative to red wine
Disadvantages: doesn't taste good out of plastic bottles

...Here goes! It's about 79p in Tesco. It is Italian sparkling mineral water. You can get it in multi packs cheaper- but then it comes in plastic bottles and tastes average as water goes - but in glass bottles it is to die for! The fizz is equivelent to a good Saumur (the best French fizz outside of champagne)and the flavour is clean, fresh, no hint of this or that, just perfect to refresh you and clear the palate. I like my red wines(rather too much in fact) but San Pellegrino can replace it no question when eating in an Italian restaurant. I can still be tempted by a good barolo (excellent Italian red wine with fantastic fruity taste) - I'm not commenting on that now - but even then I order both. At home I find it easier to drink than most mineral waters as there is no "bloating" effect, and its very good after a heavy nights boozing as...
