JORDAN - A Tourist's overview

Advantages: Wonderful country, with fantastic scenery and history
Disadvantages: Dangerous at present time (Jan '06)

...It is a real shame that at present, due to the on-going troubles in the Middle Eastern region, that Jordan is now listed by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office of the British Government as suffering from a high risk and threat of terrorism, which has lead to the closure of the British embassy in the capital Amman. Review of General: Jordan

Mr Jordan debut's

Advantages: Very accomplished and versatile
Disadvantages: Not stunning

...David Jordan - Set The Mood I bought this album from iTunes on the back of his single 'Sun Goes Down' which I have to say was refreshingly good and I loved the video, very quirky. David Jordan is only 23 and surprisingly (for his depth of musical style) is British, though born of Indian and West Indian parents. This is his debut album and is produced by Trevor Horn, more of a name in the 80's than now, he was regarded then a bit Like Mark Ronson is now, which is a coincidence as apparently (having read up on this like the geek I am), Amy Winehouse and David Jordan are big buddies, so I would not be surprised if Ronson features in this young mans career before too long. Being Jordan - How hard can it be?

Advantages: Great read, manageable chapters.
Disadvantages: A little too much information on some of the people mentioned.

...'Being Jordan' is written by Katie Price who is a celebrity mother of three & married to Peter Andre. "I Looked Over Jordan, and What Did I See..."

Advantages: Can be bought cheaply
Disadvantages: No real insight into her life

...herself, even I found this to be dumbed down and lacking in any real insight. At least in the Sun, I could skip to the sports pages, but in "Being Jordan", all I can do is skip to where she's having a relationship with a footballer. In much the same way that a Beano Annual takes your favourite characters from the comic and puts them all together in a hard cover, so "Being Jordan" is the equivalent of a Sun Annual. It gives you the same characters, acting in the same way, and gives them to you in one large chunk that you'll soon tire of. Indeed, the only saving grace to the hardback copy of "Being Jordan" I have just read is this. I borrowed it from a colleague, so reading it didn't cost me a penny - which is about what its worth - and I can give it back and put it completely out of my mind, which will take all of thirty seconds....

Advantages: Fully of juicy gossip, a good quick read

...I bought this book on Ebay (for about a fifth of the RRP £16.99!) after reading mixed reviews, and figured I'd just have to find out for myself if this book was all it was made out to be. I personally have always found Katie Price, aka Jordan quite intriguing. I've watched many documentaries about her, gaining a brief insight into her life and they have always shown her in a good light. After watching an episode of the most recent television programme featuring Katie; 'Katie and Peter: The Next Chapter' which is shown on ITV2, I finally decided I should definitely read this book. 'Being Jordan' is the first of her two autobiographies and I found it an extremely compelling read. If you're looking for a book that is intellectually stimulating , then this probably isn't for you. In Jordan's World, What Did Katie Do?

Advantages: Easy reading if nothing else
Disadvantages: Sounds arrogant in some parts

...I actually bought this book a while ago as part of a buy 2 get the third free. I had fancied reading it for a while but I wasn't of the inclination to actually go out and pay full whack for it, so getting it free was great. I'm always curious when someone so young like Katie Price writes their autobiography, surely they should wait until their 50's to write one? Then you think about it, if Katie Price can cash in, then why shouldn't she? She has accomplished quite a lot at a young age and maybe she feels she will do better to continue her autobiographical writings throughout her life rather than wait till she's a has-been and no-one is interested in her any more. As always, I am an open minded reader, I don't make judgements so here is my review of Being Jordan by Katie Price... JUST WHO IS KATIE PRICE...

After watching an episode of the most recent television programme featuring Katie; 'Katie and Peter: The Next Chapter' which is shown on ITV2, I finally decided I should definitely read this book. 'Being Jordan' is the first of her two autobiographies and I found it an extremely compelling read. If you're looking for a book that is intellectually stimulating , then this probably isn't for you. However, if you would like to find out a few things you never knew about a few celebrities then this definitley fits the criteria. Advantages: Quick read, informative
Disadvantages: If you don't like, you'll hate her even more

...I am almost ashamed to admit that i bought this book, but I was curious, after hearing all the interviews where she had plugged this book. Katie claims that she wrote this book to give her side of the story that the tabloiads put across about her, her life and her feelings. The book starts with her explaining her reasons for writing the book, and how she sees herself. This isn't a biography as such, more a catalogue of the different men she's been with, and their relationships. She does go into some details about her earlier life, but it only covers the first couple of chapters of the book. She talks briefly about her childhood, but by Chapter 2, she's talking about her first disasterious experience of modelling at 13, and from chapter 3 onwards, she launches into her love life.
