Top of the shops.............
Advantages: see above
Disadvantages: see above
...Advantages: Loads of stuff available, good prices
Disadvantages: can get busy at christmas time so much so people abandon their shopping
I am a huge Asda fan, it's where I do most of my shopping and I know where everything is which makes it easier when dragging 3 kiddies along with you!
In my local Asda we have a photo centre, cafe, George, electricals, homewear, toys, bakery, pizzaria, rottisary (chicken place lol), fresh meats counter and all the usual foody aisles plus we have a petrol station, cash machines and bus stop. It's the largest shopping store we have although we do have a Tesco, Lidl, Aldi, Co-Op, Farm Foods and Iceland.
I have never had a bad experience with Asda and the stock is usually replenished quite quickly! They have such a huge range that I know I can do my weekly shop and more there.
Everything...

shopping heaven
Advantages: great bargains
Disadvantages: queues
...Primark is one of the greatest shops that i find that every time i go in there you can guarantee that i will come out having brought something. When you go into Primark you are guaranteed that you will always find a bargain and at the fraction of the cost of any other shops.
Primark has come on in leaps and bounds over the years it stocks a greater range of items that are more in line with the fashions of today and at a great price.
A few years ago i would never have even thought to go to Primark, but as they finally put one in my local town centre i always have a look for a bargain.
Primark stocks everything from ladies, mens , childrens and homeware.
In the ladies section you will find shoes, bags, jewellery, t shirts, lingerie, jeans, trousers, skirts, jumpers, jackets and night wear.
In the mens sections you have jeans...

Shopping with Teenagers
Advantages: Sells every item of clothing possible
Disadvantages: Busy at peak times
...Clothes shopping is never an easy task when you have kids in tow. It doesn?t matter if they?re toddlers, young or teenagers, they are still a pain in the proverbial backside when you?re trying to look round the shops and I can guarantee that my teenage son will be moaning and groaning within half an hour when we go shopping.
Back in the Summer we decided to brave the busy Ipswich shopping centre, the prime motive to get the kids kitted out for the new school term. After we?d paid the perfunctory visit to the school clothing department in Debenhams we set off down the street to have a wander round the shops. I was absolutely amazed then my son stopped outside Primark and suggested we had a look inside. Teenagers are renowned for wanting designer labels aren?t they? I propelled him inside quick as a flash, before he could see...

Guilt free shopping
Advantages: Affordable clothes and accessories
Disadvantages: Very busy, occasionally poor quality, random sizing!
...this anywhere else.
I tend to buy all my plain t-shirts from Primark. At £3 a pop, it's not such a great concern if they don't last very long, nor is it a worry for fashion followers who want to keep up with the latest trends. Primark is so affordable that entire outfits can be bought for less than half the price of highstreet stores. It has challenged other places to justify their prices and, I imagine, has posed quite a threat to a number of more expensive places.
THE DISADVANTAGES
This may be a big shop with plenty of variety, but it has got a little too big for its boots. There are too many customers and too few staff. Queues are a massive issue in this busy department store and, whilst some things are cheap enough for people to risk them not fitting, you can be waiting for up to an hour in busy periods at the Customer Service...

The baby shop
Advantages: Everything for baby and mum-to-be, exceptional quality products, helpful staff
Disadvantages: Can cost more than other shops
...them. Although I'm not at a stage where I need to wear maternity clothes quite yet, I've already got my eye on a few bits and bobs ready for when my current clothes start getting a bit tight around the waist. Along with actual clothes they sell a range of nightwear, maternity bras, knickers and even tights. The range of clothes actually displayed in the store isn't all that large, but they also have a catalogue which has the full range.
The baby clothes selection is far, far larger and one of my favourite pastimes is simply looking at all the cute little outfits. Even staple items such as vests and baby grows are considerably dearer in here than such places as Primark. But the quality is vastly superior, there really is no comparison. They wash up far better than those in cheaper shops, and the actual material feels so much thicker...

Can We Shop Online Please?
Advantages: Cheap Prices
Disadvantages: Low quality, queueing and unorganised
...Primark has been around for many many years and the first version of Primark, known as Penney's (which are still available in Ireland) were opended in Southern Ireland in 1969. 2 years later, 1971, there were 11 more stores and even one in Northern Ireland. Another 2 years later, 1973, the number of stores was up to 18 and more and more Primarks were getting opened in Great Britain.
Primark sells so many items, its hard to walk in and not find something! They sell ranges of menswear, womenswear, childrenswear and even home furnishings. I have been to both Penneys and Primark and have to say their range of clothing items is absolutely mind blowing!
Primark had not always been so popular up until about 5-6 years ago. It had always been there but not everyone shopped there. People had heard of the jaw droppingly low prices but would...

ASDA, THE ONLY TRUE ONE STOP SHOP?
Advantages: Vast Range of Products. Value For Money. Some Stunning (Non-Food) Bargains. George Clothes. Fewer "Trick" Offers.
Disadvantages: Dodgy Trolleys. Huge Check Out Queues.
...WHO ARE THEY?
In the simplest of terms, ASDA is a nationwide "superstore" chain. My definition of the word "superstore" is as primarily a grocery store, with ancillary departments - clothes, electricals etc, rather like those in a department store. To fully qualify as a superstore in 2006, they will also have to retail petrol. In short a one stop shop if you like.
ASDA - Associated Northern Dairies, a good old homespun north of England company yes? Well once upon a time, maybe. Now for some years part of the gigantic American Wal-Mart chain which, in the US at least, exercises colossal buying power and is able to control many sectors of the economy.
As a matter of interest, in 1999 Wal-Mart paid £6.7 billion for Asda, at that time creating the world's largest retailer. In total the Wal-mart group has over 4,300 stores worldwide...

More reasons to shop at Morrisons!
Advantages: Good offers.
Disadvantages: Too many tempting treats!
...I never had a Morrisons close by but I would occasionally get to go with other people to do a shop and I always loved shopping here, but then recently my local supermarket was replaced by a Morrisons and I was very pleased as I preferred it to the supermarket that was originally there. My weekly shopping bill greatly reduced which was a real bonus. The supermarket felt bigger and offered more choice. I have been shopping here for a couple of years now however the prices have gone up dramatically in the past couple of months due to the economical climate.
The store layout has remained the same but has had a few changes but then has gone back to the same standard layout of most supermarkets. I can?t quite understand why they put the fruit and Veg. to the front of the store as this always leaves me rearranging my food in my trolley...

All my shopping needs on one site?
Advantages: Convenience, Long Opening Hours, Petrol on site
Disadvantages: Not the cheapest, Out Of Town.
...is the cheapest within 10 miles of my home. There are a reasonable number of pumps with a couple dedicated to 'Pay @ Pump', but it does get very busy and I do normally find myself needing to wait for a pump to become available during the day. During the night only the 'Pay @ Pump' is available and to use these a credit or debit card is needed, which is a little inconvenient if you don't have one.
As well as the larger stores, normally known as Tesco 'Extra' there are a number of smaller versions dotted about. These 'Metro' stores are far smaller with a very limited range of goods available. You won't find any of the value brand in these small shops and very often they only stock the more expensive big brand names, so they can make popping in for a loaf of bread quite expensive. But they are a little less impersonal, and normally have...
