...Brief description of the Pentax Optio MX: The Pentax Optio MX is a great, unique looking camera, if a little clunky. It is great for both amateurs and the more experienced alike. The camera itself is not in the usual 'box' style of most other digital cameras, it has a sleek silver body, with an arm on the right, which rotates 180 degrees. This is where the lithium-ion battery is stored. The 'take picture' button, is encased in zoom button, with the record button a little lower down, all neatly sitting on the shoulder of the handle. The LCD monitor display is on the cameras back, and can be flipped up 210 degrees and swivels 180 degrees, which is great for protecting it from damage. Review of Pentax Optio MX

  Pentax produces pretty perfect pictures!

Advantages: Great build quality, easy to use and good picture quality.
Disadvantages: No image stabalisation and no wide angle capability in the lens.

Pentax Optio S10

Advantages: Large display screen, easy to use
Disadvantages: I haven't found any

...I was given the Pentax Optio S10 as a birthday present 2 months ago to replace my film camera and quite honestly I was convinced I would hate it and thought it was far too small and would be fiddly and not take photos as good as my SLR. Well I have to say I've been made to eat my words, Firstly the quality of the pictures is totally amazing, very crisp and clear, even when printed at A4 size they don't lose any clarity. The display screen is much larger than on many small digital cameras and makes it easy to use. The controls are very easy to use, when you click onto the mode screen there is a clear symbol for each type of operation and when you click on it, it gives a brief description of what it does which saves from having to consult the manual all the time. The battery life is a real plus as I'd heard that many digital cameras...

...Digital cameras are getting cheaper and cheaper these days, and this snazzy machine fits nicely in the "affordable" end of the budget without being too cheap, or too flashy. Reasonably priced, and fantastic value considering the quality of the camera itself. With a massive 8.1 megapixels, the quality of the photos is exceptional, allowing you to take really detailed snaps of anything that takes your fancy. A whopping 11 settings aside from the 2 main ones (not to mention the video/audio recording facility) make it easy to adjust the camera to whatever situation. Within each setting you can adjust the focus with 4 different settings aside from the normal one. There's even a "flower" setting - take pictures of multi-coloured and textured flowers and it's almost guaranteed that you'll keep all of the detail that you can see with the naked...

Review of Pentax Optio 230

I take my pocket camera kayaking, snorkeling and river running!

Advantages: Waterproof, pocket-sized and decent pictures
Disadvantages: Clearly not as good as a digital SLR and some features are rather gimicky

.... We had previously looked into whether there was a camera available that was designed for travel, something that offered a bit of bump protection and, maybe even a splashproof facility. Unless we wanted to spend an additional £100 (at the time) on a waterproof case for a standard camera (which would make the whole as bulky as our existing Kodak) it seemed that there was a hole in the market. That was until we discovered the Pentax Optio WP. It was new on the market at the time and there was little written about it. Pentax Optio 5Sn

Advantages: Handy size, well built
Disadvantages: poor flash

...I have owned this camera for 12 months. The picture quality is very good, and it can be used easily - more or less the same as a point and shoot camera. The viewing screen is large enough, and the menu is easy to use. It seems to be shock resistant ! I dropped mine onto a tarmac road and it remained intact and in working condition. It is a great camera to keep in your pocket or handbag, and can be ready to shoot in a couple of seconds. Never miss a photo opportunity again. The only thing I wish were better is the strength of the flash. Whilst I appreciate the drain on the battery is important, a more substantial flash would improve things. Therefore I only rate this camera as good....

Pentax Optio S50 is great.

Advantages: compact,well built,full manual control,excellent macro.

I paid £160 in the summer of 2005, which was a bargain then and it's probably a lot cheaper now. The Good points: I would call this camera a professional compact, it is small enough to fit in your pocket but with enough professional touches to make it a tool rather than a toy. My Pentax Optio 33WR Digital camera

Advantages: Small, Robust
Disadvantages: Batteries run out quick! A case that fits!

...About 3.3 megapixels I think, dosen't take a bad small picture. I find this camera difficult to hold still at times but it does have a timer function so you can take some lovely pictures with it with yourself in the shot to! With it's small square shape it is easy to place anywhere to get a good timed shot. I have had much difficulty finding a case that fits it's unusual square shape and now it lives in a leather bag. It only takes 2 AA batteries but I find these run out really quickly so I now use rechargeable and always carry spare. It is rubber sealed and I have taken mine to the beach and it still seems ok. The screen is a nice size and you can zoom in on pictures you have just taken. It has different modes for different conditions like evening (not much light) portraits (people) one if your taking pictures...

Review of Pentax Optio 33WR

Pentax Optio M20

Advantages: Good range of features.
Disadvantages: None that I have discovered yet.

...I bought this camera about 6months ago at a discounted price. I find it has a lot of features and the quality of the pictures very acceptable. I particularly like the good sized screen which makes reviewing the pics easy and practical. Comparing this with my last digital camera which was a Konica Revio KD-400z I find the Optio M20 a big step up in terms of functionality. I also like the ability to resize a picture after the shot which means you can effectively increase the zoom capbility. I have used this to snap a ship on the horizon at full zoom and then using the trimming function retake which brought the ship into much closer view. However at this point clarity was compromised as expected. Altogether a very acceptable camera for my needs....
