Pentax produces pretty perfect pictures!
Advantages: Great build quality, easy to use and good picture quality.
Disadvantages: No image stabalisation and no wide angle capability in the lens.
...As I am sure most Ciao members will now know, I am a professional photographer but as well as taking pictures I also hold photography seminars at my local camera club and over the last few years I have become somewhat of a target for sales persons asking me to try out their latest digital cameras and give talks and written reviews on them.
I figured a couple of years back if I was going to be testing out all these cameras and doing reviews anyway then I may as well be posting them on Ciao and Dooyoo and making some money for charity which as you well know is what I do now.
The latest camera to be handed to me is the Pentax Optio M60 and as you read on you will find that this little digital camera is a real breath of fresh air. For months now I have been handed very expensive digital point and shoot cameras that claim to be able...

Pentax Optio S10
Advantages: Large display screen, easy to use
Disadvantages: I haven't found any
...I was given the Pentax Optio S10 as a birthday present 2 months ago to replace my film camera and quite honestly I was convinced I would hate it and thought it was far too small and would be fiddly and not take photos as good as my SLR.
Well I have to say I've been made to eat my words, Firstly the quality of the pictures is totally amazing, very crisp and clear, even when printed at A4 size they don't lose any clarity.
The display screen is much larger than on many small digital cameras and makes it easy to use.
The controls are very easy to use, when you click onto the mode screen there is a clear symbol for each type of operation and when you click on it, it gives a brief description of what it does which saves from having to consult the manual all the time.
The battery life is a real plus as I'd heard that many digital cameras...

Pentax Optio MX digital camera/ camcorder
Advantages: Digital Camera and Camcorder in One!!
Disadvantages: Not many
...Brief description of the Pentax Optio MX:
The Pentax Optio MX is a great, unique looking camera, if a little clunky. It is great for both amateurs and the more experienced alike.
The camera itself is not in the usual 'box' style of most other digital cameras, it has a sleek silver body, with an arm on the right, which rotates 180 degrees. This is where the lithium-ion battery is stored. The 'take picture' button, is encased in zoom button, with the record button a little lower down, all neatly sitting on the shoulder of the handle. The LCD monitor display is on the cameras back, and can be flipped up 210 degrees and swivels 180 degrees, which is great for protecting it from damage.
The flash is stored in the top of the camera, and can be erected by the push of a small button on the left hand side. Also on the side are the flash...

...Pentax Optio E70L
****************************
Pentax is a well known name in digital imaging products. It has very large range of products in digital cameras with compact and handy camera to digital SLR, professional cameras. Digital camera market is very competitive and there are many other brands available but few of them are popular. Compact camera market is very competitive in all of them and there are very less profit in this category. So many of the brands are trying to give some best camera in small category to survive in the market. Some brands have very good range of digital SLR cameras but they have very less share in overall digital camera market. Compact and small cameras are very popular due to its point and shoot features, its low price range tag and easy to carry feature.

A Great OPTIOn
Advantages: Some great features, user-friendly
Disadvantages: Can only use AA Alkaline batteries
...I have always been keen on photography and quite proud of the photos that I've managed to take. However, using a standard automatic camera has its limitations and so I finally thought it was time to invest in a decent digital camera. Price was a big factor in deciding which make to buy. Although I didn't want a really cheap digital camera, I didn't want to pay the earth for one either! Searching the Internet, I came across the Pentax Optio E30. It seemed to fit the bill well in terms of price (just under £100) and had many of the features that I was looking for, such as video recording with sound.
I ordered the camera through Tesco Direct because I had a £5 money off coupon to use, and received the camera in the post a couple of days later.
THE CAMERA
The Pentax Optio E30 offers a 2.4 inch LCD and 7.1 megapixels, providing high...

Pentax Optio S50 is great.
Advantages: compact,well built,full manual control,excellent macro.
Disadvantages: response could be a bit faster
...I spent about 6 hours reading camera reviews in magazines and online before purchasing a Pentax Optio s50. I paid £160 in the summer of 2005, which was a bargain then and it's probably a lot cheaper now.
The Good points:
I would call this camera a professional compact, it is small enough to fit in your pocket but with enough professional touches to make it a tool rather than a toy. For example you can attach it to a tripod, a lot of small silver compacts don't have that ability and show them up as being 'fun snappers' rather than for someone who cares about the photos they take.
Sturdy build; all metal case. Decent weight to it. Not cheap and plastic!
Extensive modes of operation from full auto 'point and click' to full manual control of Focus, light modes, exposure time up to 4 seconds, light sensitivity (ISO...

Pentax Optio M20
Advantages: Good range of features.
Disadvantages: None that I have discovered yet.
...I bought this camera about 6months ago at a discounted price. I find it has a lot of features and the quality of the pictures very acceptable.
I particularly like the good sized screen which makes reviewing the pics easy and practical. Comparing this with my last digital camera which was a Konica Revio KD-400z I find the Optio M20 a big step up in terms of functionality. I also like the ability to resize a picture after the shot which means you can effectively increase the zoom capbility. I have used this to snap a ship on the horizon at full zoom and then using the trimming function retake which brought the ship into much closer view. However at this point clarity was compromised as expected. Altogether a very acceptable camera for my needs....

Pentax Optio W20
Advantages: Waterproof
Disadvantages: no lens cover
...This is a 7MP which is more than enough for most users. Photos come out very sharp and clear. The camera has a zoom function to take close ups. It is also water proof so you can take underwater photos, but importunely I have not had the chance to test this feature so am unable to comment.
It is a good looking little camera which is affordable and well constructed (i.e., it doesn't feel like it's gonna fall to pieces in your hands, like some other products I have had!)
The camera itself was around £150 but I paid an extra £20 to get a 1GB memory card. I would recommend buying a memory card as the camera's internal memory not very big probably only enough for about 20 or 30 photos; an annoying downside with most cameras, no doubt design to make you spend more money for the extra capacity! Having said that, it is extremely good...
