Pentium 4 541 processor review

Advantages: Fast for a single core, reliable
Disadvantages: creates a lot of heat, is a single core - not too popular any more.

...I was given this processor from work, but i didnt have any use for it at the time. later on, i decided to build my own computer and use this processor for it. It is a really good processor, and quite fast for a single core. It can run a few processes at once, and is quite reliable. The downside is that it is old now, and Dual/Quad core processors are much more popular now. also, the processor generates a LOT of heat, and my intel stock cooler (I know, i know) is not the best for that. My main problem is the heat issue, and as my computer uses smart fan control, the fan is always very loud and irritating. All in all, a very good processor but you will need a lot of cooling for it....

2.8ghz Pentium 4 - Oldie but Goodie

Advantages: Cheap, Good Performace
Disadvantages: Not HT, L2 Cache could be bigger, Easy to install if you know how.

...I've had this processor for nearly two years now, and following a cost benefit anaylsis, I still don't see the point in upgrading. It's a perfectly capable processor, and teamed with 1GB of memory, it performs well. Theres not a lot to say about this processor, and what will be said will be extreamly boring. Pentium 4 - 2.2Ghz

Advantages: Performs Well

...I wrote this a while, back so I am now publishing it on ciao but it is still fairly up to date. I spend a long time writing this. 1 hour: After a simultaneous processor release early in 2002, both Intel and AMD are settling back into the standard pattern of trying to beat the other to the punch. Intel impressed us with the Pentium 4 Northwood, as well as jumping a full 200 MHz with the Pentium 4-2.2 GHz. AMD followed this up with their Athlon XP 2100+, which once again had the juice to slip by the fastest Intel had to offer. The last shot was fired by AMD, so naturally it should be Intel's chance to step up to the plate. And from first glance, Intel seems to be carrying a mighty big bat. Advantages: Dual Core, Fast Clock Speed, Overclocking, 4mb cach
